A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
http://youtu.be/ByBF0NbAgaU
Fury admits it here, he said he got soundly beaten by Joshua. Both have improved a lot and it was only a three rounds spar, so not too much can go be thought of this. However it's still interesting.

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Sparring is what it is, just sparring. Good on him though, hopefully he lives up to the hype.

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
This is interesting.
Anthony Joshua Wants Tyson Fury - Winner Gets Rolex! - Boxing News
Joshua says he had only been boxing a year but you cant call him inexperienced at the point they sparred as he had won, 2010 Elite ABAE Champion, Gold - 2009 and 2010 Haringey Box Cup, 2009 ABAE Senior Novice Champion.
Tyson is also known for sparring hard all the time.
-
Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Yeah its to bad Fury never learned the fine art of grappling and hugging. That way styles like that would most likely have never bothered him.
I wonder if there is any Wlad/Joshua footage floating around?
Kind of a perfect storm starting to form here. There is no having to get under in this fight. For the first time, there is someone who can reach him straight across with a 4 inch advantage. An unorthodox guy that can switch and throw punches he might not see coming because Fury is not reaching for them. That's a huge factor for me. Sure he's vulnerable and just one steelhammer right hand could end this thing early but is he going to risk it given the physical equality and the fact that he can be easily reached and countered?

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
So young Joshua bashed up Tyson trying to win his Rolex. Brilliant.

Tried but failed then complained that Fury was too rough;D
They are the same age also. So massive punchers like Price and Joshua have shared the ring with Tyson and neither could hurt or drop him even though hes got a shit chin? One got dropped and the other complained that Tyson was too strong and rough.;D
Just shows Tysons natural fighting ability;)

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Seems like Tyson was getting such a hiding from young Joshua that he resorted to holding on for dear life and smashing his balls in.
Joshua had had 21 amateur fights.
From Tyson's own mouth - "I don't mind admitting he beat me up in sparring, but sparring aint fighting, and fighting with a headgaurd is different, if I had a weak chin I'd have been knocked out for a month"
If young AJ could put the fear of god into these guys back then, well.....

Wouldnt fear keep you away from getting in the ring rather than travelling down to London to spar with him amd also to entice him to do his worst by offering him a Rolex if he was good enough ( which he wasnt). Tyson is as genuinely fearless as they come.
21 amateur fights and winning national championships isnt a novice!;D

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
I'm sure Joshua is hoping for a Fury win , as he will see it as an easy way to win the world title.
-
Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Tyson didn't know who AJ was, he said - "I was gonna take it easy on this novice amateur then boom, he gave me a hiding, look out for him he will be red hot"
Tyson thought that young novice version of AJ was brilliant, imagine having to face the mature, experienced professional version of him today, who is destroying men that Tyson respects.
Tyson must have tremendous admiration for him.

Heck, don't make excuses Ross, let's pull Tyson and sub Anthony. I'm positive Wlad will go for it if the money is the same.
Thee rounds of sparring a few years ago, that's all I need to see to pick a future heavyweight champion. Let's get that punk Tyson out of there. It's Anthony Joshua all the way!! AJ, AJ all the way!!!!

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Never happened, Fury was just trolling.

A tempting offer it must have seemed - 14 shillings and 6 pence , a new caravan , and fighting in a traveller park.:vd:

Come on now as mch as you dont like to admit it Tyson is a big draw. The biggest scheduled fights in the heavyweight division in the last 10 years have involved Tyson Fury;)

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
I'm not saying Tyson is scared of Joshua, just that if that young inexperienced kid version of AJ could bash up and put fear into Tyson then what will this monster version of AJ do?
Tyson has matured too but not at the rate AJ has.

Your right.
Joshua is fighting Gary Cornish next and Tyson is about to become the best heavy in the division:rolleyes:
;D

Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Tyson has been a pro for 7 years.
AJ has been a pro for 18 months.
It took Tyson 3 years to get a Commonwealth title shot. Not surprising though considering a young novice amateur like Joshua was duffing him up in sparring.
-
Re: A 20 year old Joshua beat up Fury in sparring
Any video of that spar around?
-
Teper and a European title is the route that Hearn wants for Joshua which he stated yesterday in a couple of interviews 😉
I respect Fury a lot for telling it like it is too but AJ is only 7-10 or more fights away from a World title shot and is knocking everyone out which is not how Fury progressed at all.
Isn't the Cornish fight for a vacant commonwealth title?
Again a good progression and a strap of any kind will only give him more drive and confidence.
Dylan Whyte next says Hearn then hopefully Teper.
I really don't see anyone stopping AJ at all and I'd bet my house he'd put Fury to sleep in a matter of rounds tomorrow, Infact I can see Fury sliding and Joshua netting him on his way up in a year or so 😉
