Stiverne, better quality of opponents, better chin, more experience, more of a sense of urgency.
People say Wilder will win because of his reach. Wilder's not even that good at using his reach.
Wide and loopy with those punches....a roll and counter against him will put a 1 in the loss column REAL quick like.
I respect Wilder's power, but the manner in which he goes about using it is silly. If Wilder had Wladimir Klitschko's dedication to tactics and technique he'd be unstoppable. He's got a huge reach, he's very tall, he's athletic, if Mark Breland can get Deontay to fight a clean controlled fight he'll win more often than not....I just haven't seen him do it yet.
Lesser skilled men have won a title because of intangibles: willpower=Wilder.
Wilder!
Wilder in 6 or 7.
I'm not too sure tbh, but Wilder can't afford any mistakes and he was far too eild for my liking when he went for the finish against Harrison.
Wilders going to stand on the outside and try to land his one two's while keeping his distance. Team stiverne is probably working on drawing wilder in for that counter opportunities between those big wide punches. Hearing stiverne say he's been working on "specific training" for about a month leads me to believe they've been watching a lot of tape and know when and where to catch wilder. So in my heart i feel like stiverne has what he needs to win this .
The only problem i have is the cynic in me that says 1. Stiverne has been training long for this fight, that he possibly over trained. and .....2. While wilder is trying to find stiverne and stiverne is laying on the ropes in hopes of drawing wilder in, there's room for misinterpretation and someone stops the fight with Stiverne protesting and Wilder running around doing cartwheels in the 3rd row. Whos the ref for this fight?
Stiverne
Wilder by NOCAUTE
I can't believe Wilder is a favorite, despite being completely unproven.
It shows how gullible boxing fans are.
I picked Stiverne but make no mistake Wilder is fast and powerful, he's very dangerous and he hasn't tasted defeat yet. This should be a 50-50 pick 'em fight.

According to this Isaac Chamberlin a young cruiserweight who's making his debut late January at the 02 was giving Wilder problems in sparring.
Ah yes! We got a thing going on with the monster punch, it gets us smiling, giggling, high fiveing, hand clapping, foot stomping, giving stiff as a board Marine salutes, and generally feeling good all over.
That is, most of us. Me, I can take it or leave it. I'm Mr Cool. 😎 You know what I mean. I never get over dramatic. Saay maaan, I'm a regular fucking Sammy Davis Jr.
This might be the fight that makes Wilder a future star or proves him to be just another flash in the pan. If & when Stiverne connects on Wilder will he take it or will he fold like so many others in the past. We'll see Sat night
wilder and those skinny ass legs can not take dawgs hard ass punches. plus wilder is sloppy. that sloppy wild throwing horseshit will not work on Stiverne. Stiverne by KO within 6 or 7.
I think it could be over inside 3 rounds , but I have to be honest its a pickem fight for me.
Wilder unproven , Stiverne a solid pro.
Yeah that's exactly what this fight is. The votes are 50/50 right now too!! I'm actually getting more and more excited by this fight the closer it gets, which unfortunately hasn't been the case in the top division for quite a while. The fact that we have a genuine pick 'em fight for a HW strap is fantastic and the sport can only benefit. Seeing the odds though I feel a decent bet on Stiverne coming up!!
I see it as Wilder's fight to do with as he pleases. As long as he stays disciplined, he'll do the job.
I do honestly see Stiverne landing a proper tasty looking left hook behind one of Wilder's jabs though :headscratch:
****EDIT****
No, sod it. I'm calling it... if I see, I have to call it.
Stiverne inside 4. (!!!!)
I think Stiverne wins this but I'm picking the guy I want to win, Wilder. Boxing needs all the help it can get and an American KO artist with even a share of the world championship would be a great help.
Wilder can't lose! AHW WAHHHHH
More hope than anything else but want Wilder to win.
I'm reluctantly going with Stiverne for the simple reason that Wilder does not have enough rounds under him. Team Stiverne knows this and everything they do will be designed to take advantage of this. If they are successful in getting this one into the 6th round, I see Wilder gassing and Stiverne taking him out with something sneaky and sharp ala Arreola.

I'm going with Wilder. But would not be surprised if he gets laid out
Not a confident pick but Stiverne seems the more proven commodity.
50-50 as this poll suggests, tough to call cuz either man can KO the other at anytime
Logic suggests Stiverne has better technique & he should spark wilder but I'm taking a gamble & think if wilder can use his height and reach and stay composed he should be able to take advantage of Stivernes lazy style by keeping it long. Wilder ko
Who knows though
I hadn't really had an opinion on the outcome of this fight but just watched an interview with Wilders trainer/manager and he pointed some things out I hadn't considered. Like does Malik Scott beat Arreola? Theres a good chance he does and thats Stivernes best win. Liakovich just made Ruiz look like shit.
I think Stiverne may get a shock at how often he gets caught here and see him getting hurt and stopped early.

What a fucking loser!
Wilder but a tough fight. Both of these guys think it's a must win. Either way, I don't think the two of them together can take Wlad.
