Rios vs. Alvarado III
Well they are a little bit older and a lot less bolder than they used to be, but come back baby HBO never forgets!
Rios has been looking a bit shopworn lately n Alvarado fought well against JMM.
Ill take Alvarado by UD, but I fear Rios may want it more.
Who you got ?

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
I think Alvarado was the better boxer, but he gets damaged too easily and there are rumours about him not being on the straight and narrow privately. If that is the case, then Rios might well start to walk through him more easily than before. A toss up for me.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Mikes got a lot going on and has taken big damage. Think Rios will come in about a weight class higher and brutalise him. But I'd pay good money to see Alvarado box that big half simple smile off Brandon's face.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
I'm big on Mile high Mike. I think he will do what he did in fight two. If he stands in and slugs it out Rios will have a much better chance but Mike knows that. I'm looking forward to this as we got snowed in here in my state. @Gandalf could you speak further on the rumours you've heard regarding Alvarado, I haven't read anything about that yet.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Definatley a 50/50 fight. Makes it all the more great.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
2nd week in a row I can't decide who will win
In trilogy's the winner of the second fight usually wins the 3rd & I'd go along with that here as Alvarado is the better boxer and can school rios but after the trashing from provodnikov he isn't the same fighter. Add to that his problems out the ring and I find myself leaning towards rios. He's fresher & is willing to go deep into the trenches. Not sure mike is anymore, recently he seems like the guy who trying to avoid a scrap. Looking forward to it

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Damn what's up with the Alvarado outside the ring stuff. I haven't heard anything yet. I know he was very depressed about the prod and jmm losses I didn't know he was having issues now. Could someone fill me in. Both of these guys are looking at this as a must win which should make it a good fight unless Alvarado is falling apart

Boxer Mike Alvarado charged with weapons offense
He was basically spared jail so this fight could go ahead. He's already a convicted felon so he can't be in possession of a firearm. He knows what's waiting for him tomorrow so he can't be completely focused on this fight & even if he is I think he's abit shopworn after so many back to back wars with no break. It's a good result to go 12 & exchange knockdowns with marquez but the wars with Provo, 2 with rios, Herrera and Prescott is enough to burn most guys out
I hope I'm wrong cuz I like mike & will be cheering him on. Bam bam is a warrior who will always be applying the pressure. He walked through pacs punches for 12 and he's gonna bring it here

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Thanks for that. Very disappointed to see Mike involved with this. What the hell is he going about with a gun for. Is he trying to keep a thug rep. He could afford to hire body guards if he's worried about someone. Most states have mandatory minimum sentences for felons carrying a firearm which is a felony in itself. I've always thought Mike was a decent guy in all the interviews I've seen him do. I'm not saying this makes him bad overall just disappointed to see he made such a bad decision. At least he didn't get shot up like we've been seeing happen lately.

Rios to stop him. Alvarado just has too much shit in his life right now.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Evening everybody. That was a cracking undercard fight. The undercard is on the telly now in Britain but it looks like HBO isn't going to start for another twenty minutes.
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
I'm going for Rios tonight. And Ramirez is the co-feature. I know Rios isn't everybody's cup of tea but his fights are always fun to watch.
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Is HBO on yet?Fight is starting here now.
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Gilberto Ramirez is just big all over. Legs of a garden statue.
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Don't know if I've seen him before but early impressions are that I'm not impressed with Ramirez. I think he'd be roadkill for Kovalev.

Manny Steward used to say that in rematches the guy with the greater skill almost always wins. That worked out in this case and so there's a good case to say he wins again in version 3.0. I just think Alvarado is probably further along the self-destruction path than Rios is so I'm picking Rios tonight. But both these guys deserve immense respect for getting where they're currently at from where they came from. You just feel it's only a matter of time before they both end up back there unfortunately.

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
I think Alvarado's outside distractions will be his downfall here :-\

They definitely have mastered the tools they carry, maxed heart to fullest. There are no superstars without costars. Rios looks real fresh

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Alvarado looks absolutely shot. Rios early KO.
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Alvarado looks a shell of himself :o
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Alvarado ...oh damn :o Did he just hit him low on purpose ??
Mike is hit so clean, brutal!
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Not even a nut shot can slow Rios down :p this won't go long if Alvarado continus to fight this way :-\
-
Wow loving the uppercuts, great start for rios
-
Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
Damn dude, that was intentional. Come on Mike

That's what happens when the only runs you do are small hours drink runs. Rios looked good but was it just by comparison?

Re: Rios vs. Alvarado III
