There you go Miles, @Gandalf . I know it's not the tower but surely that's a start? Brand of course won't be voting for such a thing or taxing the multinationals, but despite that his is the real revolution?

The Greens have also said that monetary wealth, GDP etc is not the measure of a successful or fair society and I am glad that they have carried through the idea that started with their inception of bartering skills and goods as viable ways to provide alternative transactions.

I would vote the Greens and have done since Iraq war but really want the Tories out of my constituency.

Imagine the civil war that would erupt into, we'd no longer need to see whats his name fight that Asian fellow.

It's a step in the right direction, but the she should also be on trial for treason. Authorisation of the Iraq war, allowing mass privatisation, allowing the mass looting of the public by private corporations. She has a lot to answer for.

In terms of Brand he is pretty much Green short of actually casting a vote. Brand is really just anti-pigs at the trough establishment.

I didn't think the English monarchy had any true power anymore, I know she is involved but I thought she was just a rubber stamp these days.

That's one of the clever ways that the monarchy is spun. They are very powerful. Every statute is signed off by the monarchy including the illegal wars. The Queen meets weekly for updates from the secret services. Even today Charles sends letters to people essentially saying that the Crown has the rights to any fracked oil beneath their properties. Despite having massive quantities of land and billions in wealth they still demand millions in state subsidies which makes them the biggest welfare scroungers of all.

I won't go into it too much as I have gone over this ground many times before, but the monarchy is not only a justification for mass inequality, but is immoral and in an age of austerity completely hypocritical. It isn't only the Royals, but an entire sector of the landed class that cannot be justified in any way. If things are to be privatised, they should have been first to go.

They can afford to look after themselves and after their stolen land and wealth is returned to the people who are suffering needlessly.

So basically like Brand you don't actually want change, just the kudos associated with asking for it? ;D While technically, like Charles the first, the Queen could be charged with treason (though not beheaded) It's a bit silly to blame her for the Iraq war and the mass looting of the public by private corporations. She may be beneath the law but the elected democratic governments of the day and the corrupt cronies running them can hardly be excused at her expense.

Traditional politics and the policy makers would love for us all to lie at either extreme of the spectrum. Vote for more of the same and validate a system that believes everyone is selfish and rewards the bastards at the top who dress it up as "Public Interest" whilst lining their own pockets,and they get to carry on regardless. Or all drop out like Brand and admit to never having voted or engaged with anything much but the coiffuring of our own chest hair, whilst lining his pockets by buying our easy conscience easing revolution at WHSMITHS in the sale, and they get to carry on regardless.

Brand was married to Katy Perry. Brand is a mysogonist and a bully. Brand is a hollywood actor. Brand is the establishment. He is like the facebook/Coca-Cola version of revolution. They can try and sell him all they like, but personally I am not buying it.:-\:rolleyes:;D

The Monarchy and Establishment are one and the same to me and likely many others. When you authorise an illegal war, then you are just as culpable as the snakes that voted for it in Parliament. And there is little that is democratic about Britain. The Iraq war was testament to this as are countless policies prior and since. There have been more wars and hardships imposed and there isn't even the pretense of a democratically elected government anymore.

People think and do what they feel is right. If Brand wants to express himself by saying he rejects the system then good for him. In terms of mainstream politics I agree that it is the correct call. It is a farce with no legitimacy. The monarchy of course has no legitimacy. Does that mean I don't want change? Of course not. Of the existing parties I agree only the Greens are worth voting for. However, my only qualm is they will likely not get close to power in time to do very much. Even then the EU largely controls the UK and the EU itself is a travesty (brought about by fine men such as the highly regarded and recently dead Leon Brittan).

Short of an actual revolution, there won't be any significant change and revolution does not mean war. It means peace. It means major changes like booting out the EU, the monarchy, rebooting the civil service, going back to the Magna Carta and Common Law, everything. Do I want change? Of course I do, but a small party saying they want the Queen in a council house is only a start. Change can happen very quickly and when you think it might never happen at all. This place is testament to that. I have faith that it can and will happen.

Brand is not the answer, but if he can raise some awareness and start young people thinking for themselves, then it is a start. Next they read their Klein, their Chomsky, they study common law, they learn about lawful rebellion and so on. And for sure, maybe they can even vote Green. It's up to them. Once people are tuned into things like that, then there is only a bankrupt establishment with a failed central banking system remaining. It's like the Wizard of Oz, the system doesn't have any answers and people are waking up to that.

At least the Greens will have a chance to put their policies forward during the elections when they appear on the national debate along with the other main parties.

For sure, the Greens are showing serious signs of logic in their suggestions. For instance GDP means nothing as compared to 'How is life for the majority of people?' Metrics like GDP are from the dinosaur age and in an economic system like today where EVERYTHING is a fraud, then it isn't so radical to call GDP a crock of shit. The entire system is a crock of shit and the Greens should be voted for in high numbers. I am not sure they will be, but they bloody well should be.
