I guess the Cotto fight really did fall through, Canelo and Kirkland are now set to throw down.
Should be a very exciting fight. Kirkland was mentioned a few times in the "fighters you hope rekindle their careers" thread. A win over Canelo would fire him up to the top of the sport, big opportunity for him!
That is the clincher....Floyd v Pacman is definitely on...
I think Canelo can definatley outbox him, but I wonder if he will engage in a firefight.
Canelo does have the better set of whiskers. so he could try to blast Kirkland out quick with a few flash knockdowns.
But if it goes past 3 or 4, then Canelo will get his chin checked: BUT here is the big question.
Is Ann Wolfe in his corner? They have an off again on again relationship. As unorthodox that her training is..she is the WO-MAN!

Thinking Kirkland is going to make Alvarez look like a powerhouse puncher inside of 4. For all of his explosiveness, you cannot miss Kirkland, he short circuits when clipped and he is terribly inconsistent and inactive.
It will be exciting. Kirkland will get KOd. Canelo has a good chin so Kirkland won't get him out of there.

James 'Dumbass' Kirkland is still debating who his trainer for this fight will be :vd: ....ridiculous, he should either get Wolfe or maybe Roach, but really he's more trouble than he's worth at this point.
I was about to reply. I think something about Ann Wolf but I am not sure. I spent 5 minutes looking at Vendetto's avatar and then scrolled down to regain my train of thought and then watched El Kabongs for another 2. Sorry Tam. Your's did nothing for me.

Word is Kirkland is around 200lbs. People might want to lower expectations for this fight

Agree, but still cant see any way this is going to be competitive. His style is perfect for Canelo. It will just be like the Angulo fight. An 8 or 9 round beat down before Kirkland quits or gets saved by his corner.Quote:

I was reading how kirkland was on self destruct just a few months back. Seems like anytime there are fighters that show these tendencies they get close and the fucks it all up.
