Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Garcia vs. Thurman must be made. It's a must see three to four years from now. At this time, the fight isn't ripe yet. But, by the way the fans and analysts go, it will be talked about within short order if both continue to win.
I predict that within 2 or 3 years, it will be all we want to see like how we wanted Floyd vs. Manny for so long.
I just hope they give it to us when it's ripe and not have to wait an additional 4 or 5 years for it to happen!
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
They arent even in the same weight class. Doubt anyone thinks this would be competitive. Thurman schools him. Garcia is an average fighter at the higher levels. Thurman absolutely schools him. Bundu v Garcia would be a decent fight though.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
It's a good fight but there's no way Danny Garcia is going to take on Thurman in his first WW fight. Thurman would beat the shit out of him IMO. Plus Garcia has potential business left at 140 with Jesse Vargas, potentially Adrien Broner and the winner of Matthysse/Provodnikov IMO.

100% its completely unrealistic for the next 2 years at least. Garcia isnt gonna fight him as he wont get a good payday and will likely lose. Even a Khan rematch is more likely.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
I don't think Garcia wants anything to do with Thurman and if he did it would be a 142.1/8th catch weight bs or something.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Cant wait 3-4 years. One of these guys will be a bum by then. If there was some kind of mystical boxing index number that weeded out hype and unfulfilled potential by dividing performances by cumulative level of competition, that number is dropping for both guys.
Probably Garcia before Thurman because the Selka blowout was probably one of the few times I've seen a fighters rep drop from knocking a guy stiff. Though watching thurman get buzzed by the bloated Diaz before stopping him was no magic show.
Make the fight soon before one of them gets upset by the unknowns they fight or becomes a James kirkland.

Diaz hurt Thurman yet Khan gets all the criticism for struggling with hi. The guy had just got a draw with Porter, he aint no bum.
Garcia got a gift over Herrera. Props for taking and winning the Matthysse fight but as soon as he fights a decent boxer with a solid chin hes losing badly. Jessie Vargas is useless so Id expect him to target him. Postol, Broner beat him as does a stepping up Crawford. At Welter I dont see him beating any of boxrecs top 10
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Garcia is moving up, as he has said. They are young fighters in about the same weight class. You make it seem as if Jr. Welter is this large step above Welter. It's not as bad as Lightweight to Welter. Or even Jr. Middle to LH.
This fight will be what we will be talking about within 2 to 3 years time. Make my word. This fight will be what we will be begging for to happen.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Garcia still ducking the Mauricio Herrera rematch
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
When I think of them standing beside each other, I imagine a Hw stood next to a middleweight. Dunno why.
Thurman dances rings round Garcia EZ
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Garcia is moving up to welterweight - that's why the Peterson fight is at 143. There's no reason to marinate a Thurman, or for that matter, a Broner fight for Garcia. He's ready and they need big-name opponents too. Make it happen next.

To bad he's not a real boxing star or he might get real pressure to do just that.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
He should take the Herrera rematch. He just undervalued Herrera. Next time he would be up for the fight and come to fight rather than expect someone to lay down.
But, be patient- Thurman vs. Garcia will be the talk within 2 to 3 years.
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
I try not to use the word very much concerning prize fighters but both of these guys are severely overrated imo and the weight difference is also. People spend far to much time these days figuring out ways how not to fight rather then fight.
Shane jumped 2 division and passed by for a stint at 140 and then fought Oscar.
Hank fought Ross at 147 and weighed in at 133
Oscar went direct to Chavez with one stop at 140
There are countless examples.
Garcia could easily get a shot at any belt holder at 147 with a phone call.

That's why I know it will happen. ;D
Re: Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman!
Listen, if they keep winning, and barring they fight Manny or Floyd, then the calls for them to fight will be inevitable. People will wonder why not them, especially if they have no losses.
I don't think anyone out there can beat either of them except for the two men I mentioned plus themselves.
Name the current crop of 140 to 147 guys: Can you honestly say, aside from themselves, and Manny/Floyd, that anyone would be an odds on fav to beat either Garcia or Thurman?? No!
