Agreed, Not that Saul isn't a good boxer but he continues to be groomed for the next big thing. The judges are way to overboard with his scores going back to the Trout fight and probably before. Cotto is in no way a ducker. I can't think of anyone he's ducked, maybe you guys know his history better than me. Maybe that's one reason why he can't be bothered with Saul. Just guessing on that of course. I personally would like to see them fight but he would need to fight him as far away from the Mexican border he can get. I hope he didn't have another Floyd fight but Roach would like to see that happen. I wouldn't mind a Lara fight, Cotto has to make a move though as he is having a resurgence and he needs to take advantage of it as father time is marching on.

Now he might as well drop the thing. If it somehow makes it to the table at 155.2 either guy is faced with meeting you know who. Just vacate the title and end the mockery of one of the most prestigious weight classes in boxing. Neither one has ant intentions of fighting the Kazak anyway.

After facing a lineup of bums for 30+ fights, all without leaving the comforts of home, it's only natural that public pressure would force him to step up his level of competition a bit. This all became painfully apparent when Floyd threw his no-hit, no-run, no-error perfect game at Canelo, and still ended up inexplicably with a majority decision win (Sulaiman money safely nestled in C.J. Ross' purse).

He's lost the plot. He's one of my favourites but he's starting to act like a tool and its clear he has no business sense and is surrounded by yes men. Funny, not one peep from Arum. I just cant see how Haymon could have offered him anything better. He had at least 15 million in the bank for Alvarez and a way to slip out of the middleweight division if he wanted to.

Of all the fighters who have ever lived, fought, punched, and taken punches ....... I can't think of many others who would fight anyone, any place, any time. Cotto is certainly not a middleweight - and hasn't he done well to win a title against a proper fighter - but this guy hadn't ducked anyone in his life. I think he is a proper fighter

Some credit... yes. The amount of credit he's routinely given by some.... no.
Aside from his victory over Austin Trout, you can easily punch holes in any part of Canelo's resume.
It's chockfull of either woefully inferior, undersized, over-the-hill, or otherwise inadequate fighters.
When he did step up to fight the elite (Floyd)..... he got schooled to the point of making everyone second-guess why he was there in the first place.
When hype exceeds reality, it's a bummer.

I though Canelo deserved the decision against Lara, very close fight but in any case he certainly wasn't "clearly outboxed". I really like Lara when he's on and was rooting for him in that as well. I also think Cotto has a better chance at beating Lara, but that fight wouldn't bring him nearly as much money so would be surprised if it actually happens.

I had it a clear win, IMO Lara swept the first half with just using a jab, and then took a couple of the final rounds, Canelo has already been proven as being very one dimensional, and nowhere as good as he has been hyped to being
