Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
Hadn't heard it was officially on? Sucks for Froch, he's said he really wanted to fight in Vegas, Chavez was about the best name/payday for as little risk as he'd get fighting anybody. If it's a bad injury he might just retire, I still hope to see him against Golovkin though.

Chavez is lucky this fight has been called off. Chavez JR is a very good fighter. He's just not as tough as Froch. Carl would break him down round by round and then end things around the 10th or so. On the other hand Froch is getting old and needs to have only two more fights and walk away like Calzaghe did.
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
Chavez Jr. actually wanted it this time. lol... he wasn't ducking or anything. But, Froch hurt his elbow and Chavez Jr. needed an opponent, so Fonfara it is. Which is a good fight for Junior for the business aspect of it- because now he can campaign between 160 and 175 at catch weights and make a helluva lot of money!
The money man between 160 to 175 is Junior... whether we like it or not. Aside from Cotto, not a soul is gonna draw you any money. From GGG, to Ward, to Stevenson to Kovalev...
Chavez can pick the litter and make heaps of cash. Win, lose or draw!
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
I wonder if Chavez Sr. makes his son give him a % of all his earnings, since they are really his;D
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
Catchweight :vd: Like its going to matter when Chavez stacks on 20 lbs before the bell.
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
If not for "day before" weigh ins, Junior would've been parking cars for a living a long time ago.

And he doesn't deserve the shot. Fonfara will beat him up anyway.

Hadn't heard it was on either. What happened to all the Froch/Ward mega fight in the UK?
That came after the Chavez Jr fight for Froch was going to be off for sure and a renegotiation through the WBA can set a later date OTHER THAN April for Froch to fight. By that time Ward should be back in full swing.
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
Froch hurt? Sounds like old age is catching up with him. A young Cobra I'd imagine wouldn't let this slip away. Many a legends have won some great battles entering with injuries they kept to themselves.
As far as Fonfara: has he improved lately? I've seen him fight live about 3 years ago and just wasn't impressed.
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
I didn't know the fight was ON. I thought Chavez-Fonfara was signed a couple of months ago.
I think Froch will keep developing various injuries until he gets offered a fight he wants. Then he'll be injury free again.

A page out of Haye's Handbook.

Fonfara was the option. The main guy was Froch...

Froch has earned the right to pick his final fights, Haye didn't.
Re: Chavez Jr/ Froch OFF.
Froch v Junior should never have been on. It is a silly fight.

You mean Haye didn't have the right to barge into the HW division, skip all the preliminaries.... and demand immediate title shots against the Klitschkos??
Well....... I never!
