Andre ward back June 20th

Re: Andre ward back June 20th
Ward needs to fight anyone because he needs to get back in the ring. Ward needs to get active and then he becomes relevant again. He is starting from the bottom.

Won't take him long to get off the bottom.

I hope so as well. The division needs a shake up.

It's more like a dusting, to reveal what we already know but has been hidden for a bit. Ward is the best SMW in the world.

Re: Andre ward back June 20th
I agree, and I think Ward can probably get away with being inactive, he's never looked off for it in the past. Just hope Roc nation will get him in good fights soon, any word on a likely comeback opponent?

Near the bottom then.

As much as I would like to get excited by this it is so long overdue!
Ward needs to give 168 one more shot and clean up the Dirrell brothers, degale and groves and sit down with Virgil and move into another divison...Kovalev is the man to beat and I actually like him.

Stevenson is the man to beat.
Ward would make Kovalev look like a fresh rookie.

Bottom line is to find out who the best is at 175 and That fight needs to happen this year with the winner fighting Ward.

Why is the bar set higher for Ward????
If anybody should move up and fight the best it's GGG.
Seems like everybody has to move up exept him.
Golovkin is treated like a 22 year old prospect instead of a 33 year old NINE year pro.
That low-calorie pidgeon diet he is on is bad for a fighter his age;D

To be fair, he did beat Pascal, but that was a close fight and Pascal is not slick and fleet footed.

Why does it matter that Froch is white :confused:

Well, it may not be someone in the top ten. Maybe the top 50. But, considering Ward's calibre, it may be someone in the top twenty or very close to it.

Give Ward a break, he has been out for quite a while and he has lawyer fees to pay off. :)

For a top regarded pound for pound fighter to come back and fight Periban who got knocked out early by a contender in his last fight is poor.
Mayweather came back to fight Marquez!

Well the equivalent of that would be Ward v Saul Alvarez at super middle.

Re: Andre ward back June 20th
Ward has pissed me off a bit to be fair. Not because he'll probably fight Periban, that's probably understandable bearing in mind how long he's been inactive. What pisses me off is he talks up the possibility of a Froch fight or a GGG fight, and says he wouldn't need a tune up. Just tell the fucking truth and stop talking shit.

He will need warm up fights it is obvious and he can not fool anyone. He has an ultra cautious trainer in Virgil Hill and they do not take many chances look at Khan.

That's fair enough, but like Khan , why talk so much shit? I suppose I shouldn't get too pissed off about it, everybody does it , I suppose.

No, Alvarez is 2 weights below.

So was Marquez when he fought Floyd.

Sorry , am I missing the sarcasm here? The only interesting thing would be to see how much Smith can earn for this. As a person, I like Smith a lot, but as a fighter , he is not anywhere near this league.
Now what would be interesting is if Ward fought CALLUM SMITH! Bit early for him, but I can't help thinking he'd do better than his older brother.

Re: Andre ward back June 20th
Sanchez Ramirez would be a good comeback opponent :)

You mean Zurdo Ramirez?
C'mon
Ward would catch a manslaughter case.
Then he'll be gone another year and a half...lol

Is better than Smith or Periban. Who do you suggest?

Zurdo is still a prospect.
Smith and Periban would be a better choice.

Periban got blasted out in 3 rounds by DeGale and Smith already got beaten clearly by Abraham in the rematch :-\ Sanchez is still young, but has a glossy record with a few decent names. Periban would get slaughtered worse than Ramirez :p

Re: Andre ward back June 20th
There is/was a big gulf between Ward and everyone else in the division. I don't see why he shouldn't hop right back into the mix, as he should be preparing to move up to 175 anyways imo, unless GGG expresses some intent to move up to fight him I guess.
Saying that, it's hard to think of reasonable opponents at 168 who would be available, and that he hasn't already clearly beaten.
