Derry Mathews interim world title fight tonight vs Tony Luis.. I am going to it

Looks like I've got myself some free floor tickets through my mate so I'm going with all of the lads. Well excited for this ;D ! Hope derry can pull it tonight, will be amazing atmosphere being there to see this.

For the interim WBA Lightweight 'World' title. In Liverpool. On Boxnation.

I know little to nothing about Tony Luis other than what I have read this week.
The bookies here have them 50/50 or a slight lean towards Luis. Thoughts? (If any).


I have always disliked 'Dirty' Derry, I think dating back to a fight he had on ITV about 8 years ago in which he was, well, dirty. Is that a feeling shared among other Brits? or do people generally like him?

Luis looking strong there. Can kind of see Mathews wilting later.

Had backed Mathews but just placed a cover bet on Luis as Mathews has wilted before.

Lol Luis goes low on the blind side so Derry nails him back.

You could have it any which way after 5. I had it 3-2 Mathews.

Derry should have gotten another warning. Dont like that point ded.

I thought Derry evened it out after losing the point but that point ded for Luis on that head gives that to Derry imo

So 6-2 but that could have went to Luis

Tony gets rd 9 so 6-3 or 5-4 depending on round 8

Luis round easy. I think it is close but Luis looks stronger.

Round 10 to Derry imo but with a dumb judge Luis could steal that by coming forward

The worst officiating I've ever seen from a ref , also terribly biased commentary !

I think Derry squeaked that one out. Close fight

Very subjective fight. I normally take quality over quantity but neither has made a conclusive case.

Tough tough fight. I think Matthews got it but a dam good fight.

Well that was a fucking anti-climax. Derry knew before we did. Wish I didn't do that cover bet. Ruined my profit.

A draw would have been about right. But to be fair I was drinking too much to score each round.

I was near ringside for the fight, Derry landed the better shots. Luis was more busy but wasn't really landing as much. Thought derry won by a round or two
