Is provo the toughest sob out there

Who the f else eats 3oo matthyse punches and is still standing and coming forward? I rooted for lucas as always but provo is literally unbreakable hope they paid him well, probably not tho since it seemed like a fairly small arena, but provo in the olden days without rounds would be undefeaed i think. was a great fight and glad they didnt stop it affer the first few as that cust was nasty, hope they dont rematch they probably shaved a few years of their lives with that fight, especially provo , would have loved to have been there

He is one tough guy , after 3 rounds I though he would have been stopped in the later rounds.

yeah after the first 2 or 3 i thought it was going to be a cakewalk for lucas he was just teeing off and anyone else i think probably would have been done....also i want to see lucas danny rematch i think lucas takes it fairly comfortable now...man has provo ever won his big fight se3ems like he always comes a shade short...

Maybe Al but I think he hurt his hands, hitting Provo mate he hit him with everything bar the kitchen sink.

I was surprised how crisp Lucas was with those punches. Great fight, I wanted Provo but hats off to Lucas.

You just can't break the guy, he's made of iron. Over 300 Matthysse punches to the head and kept going, and actually made it a very close fight.

There is no point going to prov head, body shots is the only way to stop him.

Provo is unbelievable, you have to see it to truly appreciate him. Of course you will still have a few questions, like how and why the hell he does it.
It almost makes you believe some of those action movies, where the actor absorbs unbelievable amounts of punishment and keeps coming.
I can hear myself thinking, "Yeah, yeah, Provo could do that shit, no problem!"

Yes Ruslan is the toughest mofo I've ever seen. He is a tank. If he had a bit more power we should call him the Siberian Hulk.

However it is very disappointing to see him not improve. Obviously Freddie Roach is not spending much time with him. I know Wild Card Gym is known for offensive fighters but offensive fighters with footwork and movement. Ruslan is not showing defense at all. Surely no man can sustain this style and it is concerning because I love the guy and want to see him fight for many more years. They really need to make sure Ruslan isn't just going to try to win a tough guy fight. He needs to move his head and use footwork. Ruslan stops B level fighters but these better boxer are going to pot shot him all night if they are in good shape.

Yes Lucas looked good and he was very smart to avoid trying to bully Ruslan, nobody bullies Ruslan and Lucas found out real quick. In this fight Lucas would not be the bull ;D

Lucas landed and landed but Ruslan kept coming. Ruslan almost stop Lucas too. Ruslan is the only guy out there that can lose every round but will keep coming and may stop you at any moment. Just a beast! Gotta love the guy but worry too because reality is merciless.

Yea, he's a freak for sure. I was thinking the same thing about the old time rounds last night, hell even if they still went 15 I'm not sure anyone would be up for it. Thought he was toast early, like most I'm sure, but by the mid rounds it seemed like Matthysse was getting depressed over what a zombie he was in there with.
Also agree that he needs to tweak some things though, highly doubt he will but nobody can last that long fighting the way he has.

He is up there with the best chins of all time. I was amazed that he could take so many hard shots and still just keep coming forward.

Every word.

Very very hard man who earns every cent and fans respect. He proved a solid chin with the thickness of an engine block last night but its the kind of tough that will catch up fast. His flesh will falter before his heart for sure. Props to both and very impressed with Matthysse also who kept a calm level head and showed just how well he can box, those combinations were brutal.

Lucas took some vicious shots too, I think he was hurt far more but hung in there and deserve the decision. Ruslan just didn't have much defense.

That is not healthy

He just saw his value increased despite the lost after this terrific bout and I wouldn't be surprised if for more cash these two would go at it again.

He's a BEAST!!!!! Strong, in great shape, aggressive and absolutely fearless. Didn't want either Matthysse or Ruslan to lose, they are two of my favorites and willing to take on anyone. 140-147 is stacked with phenomenal match ups right now, and there seems to be a shift were guys are willing to fight each other. I'm hoping Ruslan gets one more chance to take on a titlist and make some money, he has given some great performances.

His chin seems to warm up. It's actually even more impressive than Froch's chin and that's saying something

I questioned it in an earlier thread , I thought it looked as if Lucas had hurt his hands as he wasn't punching with the same intent later in the fight. I think that has been confirmed.

He is one tough mother fucker but it'll come back to haunt him. You can't take beatings like that to often without it catching up with toe 😉

He's posted a picture on his Twitter account of his urine sample after the fight and it's black in colour and it was the same after the Bradey fight.

Proper old school fighter though and always entertaining to watch 😊

Yes Provo is one of the hardest cunts on the planet. Can't believe he walked through 12 rounds - with a sicko puncher like Matthysse - without even a serious wobble let alone going over.

Cards were a bit close though. I thought Matthysse clearly won.

Possibly. I was extremely impressed with how he handled Matthysse's punches. He was never even hurt.

froch has a good chin but their chins are in different leagues. froch has definitely been hurt. provo has never been hurt.
