how are you watching the fight
I know this could be in the boxing section but it's not really about boxing itself more the perception of said sport. I have two offers to watch the fight. Looks like I'll be watching with two friends at one of there homes a short drive from my own. I'll supply food. Actually, I only know one of the fellows, he's one of my best buddies, the other guy is a co-worker of his. Damn, I hope he's not a Floyd fan, I really don't want to watch this fight with Floyd fans.

Re: how are you watching the fight
I've had a few offers to go and watch it with other people but I have opted to stay in and watch it on my own, I always prefer to watch the big fights on my own, there is nothing worse than having someone who isn't all that interested sitting next to you chatting shit and asking stupid fucking questions.
I'll be stocking up on the red bull and ordering a huge pizza and I can't wait for it

Re: how are you watching the fight
Travelling back to my hometown to watch it with my brother and some friends.

I was seriously considering what you just spoke on. Ordering myself so I don't need to listen to anyone. In the end I think I opted for a split on the cost.

Watching it with other people is fine just so long as you choose the crowd wisely, a few people who have a genuine interest in the fight is great, I have had people round at mine to watch fights in the past and we have all ended up getting bladdered and just not bothering to watch it...you need to find night owls and not piss heads

Nah, can't enjoy TV on coke unless it's porn. Cocaine was never a social drug for me, I'd get to geeked and forget how to talk, of course I did Texas sized lines, B.

Re: how are you watching the fight
having a few friends round and got Fantana (for those who remember him - Meunouk etc..) staying the weekend
A strict alcohol ban is in place after midnight Saturday. Am not having people getting hammered and I'll be off to bed midnightish to get back up later to watch - have a feeling this one will start later than usual from Vegas and am not going to risk missing it as has happened in the past.
-
Re: how are you watching the fight
I will start drinking about 4pm. Will be pissed by 7pm. Hanging on by midnight take some caffeine pills and get my second wind. Fight won't end til about 6am. If it was dull I'll go straight to sleep if it was exciting I'll need a drink and to talk about it for a bit.
Luckily I am a very well conditioned drinker for these events.

Re: how are you watching the fight
Watching it on my own, working the day after, watching it on a live link from master ;) Hopefully !;D

Re: how are you watching the fight
This is one of those televised fights, so away from the computer and at the TV, with a spot of morning walking and a nice lunch to preface the event. It is an event and is the biggest fight since Hatton/Pacquiao for me. Only this time Manny has the burden of my support.
-
Re: how are you watching the fight
Via Saddo RBR reading the detailed minute to minute of some fine upstanding forum members to myself. Most likely in one of those old timey radio voices ( think James Cagney) :action:.
That or I have such a busy Saturday at work that I'll start consuming adult beverages at 5 and justify blowing $90 in the name of "ahhh fook it! I've earned it and work for it" :-X
Oh or a link. Hopefully one that doesn't stuff my shit full of viruses like last time!

Ghandi, when you say a televised fight do you mean it's on regular TV in xenophobic South Korea, that's pretty nice.

Any clubs or bars put it on over there?
I should be at my dads watching it,or at a pub or RSL club returned servicemen league, therefore not breaking my own pledge to never buy another one of Floyds fights in.

Regular TV. The fight is that big that there is interest here too. The media is xenophobic but ordinary Koreans are on the whole quite different from the media. I dont sense any real xenophobia on the streets. This is a peaceful place. No police officer wants my blood because I am white. Its nice. Opinion is divided here. Mayweather has his fans and so does Pac. I have backed Manny and I am just hoping it doesnt go all Hatton.

Re: how are you watching the fight
I just ordered it now. (SKY box Office HD) I am going to watch it with my Stepson if he stays up, and is not working (he usually works nights) and of course keeping up with the RBR on here at Saddos.
It should be the mother of all fight night RBR's even if the fight itself ends up being a bit of a damp squib.

Re: how are you watching the fight
I think i'll just download/stream it Sunday morning.
1. I don't think it will be a great fight (it's a Floyd fight).
2. The undercard is pony.

Exactly. Which is why I'll be watching it at home with my brother and a couple of buddies. Had an invite to watch it at my brother-in-law's, but he's gonna have his kids and their friends and their wives and their kids, etc, etc, etc. A whole mob scene complete with bratty kids and bored wives.
Nah... I'd rather watch it at home with fellow boxing fans.
-
Re: how are you watching the fight
Was thinking of streaming it, but I've been reading CBS is bring out snipers for streamed site. I thing it's just talk though, otherwise the movie industry would have already stopped it. Planning to go to the big casino near by and watch it in their big dinning room. The usually show big PPV fights for free and their web site says come early for seating. Would have probably been forced to watch it at home but can't cause my daughter threw the remote at the 70" flat screen. It has a big crack in the back screen.

Re: how are you watching the fight
At home with my son, a few wheat beers some chicken and pizza up all night, my son's on about
getting a bottle of Grey-goose vodka lovely stuff.
This is a bit special biggest money fight in history up to now,! I don't think it will turn out to be
spectacular, but well worth a watch.:)

Re: how are you watching the fight
Im getting really excited now. Been watching classic Manny fights all week and though he has had soft performances there have also been some killers. I hope Manny has his output and a seek to kill mentality. None of this 'Im getting old and soft nonsense'. I shall preface the card with a 2 mile walk up the hills followed by pulled pork and a jacket potato. This is the highlife! And the fight is free! :p

Aren't you suppose to do the two miles after the pulled pork? ;D

Mad isn't it. I am not sure if Miles has actually moved across the world or back in time to the 1960's and 70's when even here we had things like that and public services rather than monopolised piles of doo doo run for the benefit of rich bar stewards and shareholders.
Hopefully the fight will be a vintage throwback too, with the rollercoaster type of action we sometimes had then.

Re: how are you watching the fight
Your logic does seem better, but being a contrary sort my mind is made up. Exercise first thing while the people are recovering from the weekend then my fill of the lovely calorie rich and heart destroying meat.
Keep the faith. Public services and free boxing can return as soon as Murdoch and mainstream party politics is fully rejected. Greens and TUSC are possible counters. It starts with a Manny win, then everyone can see the status quo is impermanent.

Re: how are you watching the fight
So the world can watch it for free and UK and USA have to pay! Disgusting.
-
Re: how are you watching the fight
Pay per view here is around $60 US so I'm definitely not buying it. It's not that I can't afford it, you can do lotsa things here with $60. It's like $60 x 10 in value here. So it's worth to wait a couple hours instead to watch the free telecast here, plus 5-10 mins of commercials in-between rounds;D. It's been like that for decades here except there were less commercials before. No complaining though cuz I got to watch all the major boxing events ever since, the Ali fights, the 'no mas', Hearns, Hagler and Leonard to the de la Hoya fights. Here in the Phils, it's common for some neighborhood shops to set up big screen tv's to show Manny's fights to the public for free and there will be one at our neighborhood just several blocks away from my place and so if I feel like joining the lynch mobs;D I might take a little hike.

It is wrong and that is why comparison is so important. Because of me, you know that Americans and Brits are getting fleeced and people in Asia are not. Sometimes people think I am just rubbing your noses in it, but I do it because I care. You guys deserve better and it is only with comparisons that people can see differences. There isn't even a British fighter to justify being fleeced! It's madness.

Re: how are you watching the fight
My missus was really upset, she's been a pactard, thanks to me, and has been debating about the fight on facebook with her friends. I've heard she has un-friended a few. Unlike me, she's a hot-headed lady and has no tolerance for any view other than hers.;D Haha, but other than that, she's a perfect lady so I'm not complaining...
************
I told you about a certain shop near our place showing the ppv free on the big screen tv they set up in their place where they can accommodate hundreds of people. I saw the people passing through the street next to our house going to the place all excited and happy, and I saw them coming back all sad and silent. Not strangely I heard one word that echoed from the crowds passing by. Guess what? It was the word 'hugging'. Most of them are not really boxing fans so I guess they thought that it was unfair to clinch. Most of the intellectuals here - the ones whom my missus argued with -- thought Floyd would win but the vast majority of the people, the poor, went all the way for Manny. That makes me a poor fella.
************
One time my missus looked over me on my computer while I was reading the posts here and she saw the word 'pactard'. She asked me what that was all about and I told her that that's what they call us. She said, 'like a retard?' and I answered, 'I guess so.' She looked a bit annoyed and just went off. Now I have a year old kitty named Emmanuel aka Pacman. And about couple days after, I don't know what got into her (the missus) mind, I caught her calling my kitty Pactard! I almost shouted at her 'stop calling him that!' but kept my peace instead. And after another couple days, I don't know what got in my mind cuz I kinda instinctively started calling him Pactard myself. Now we have a kitty named Emmanuel aka 'Pactard', thanks to rocco.;D :D;)

Re: how are you watching the fight
I watched an internet stream which cut out around round 8, I didn't bother to seek out another one after that, was never really thrilled by this fight.
-
Re: how are you watching the fight
I was curious about that, I was wondering if many found a reliable stream. It would have been a better option for this fight.
-
I watched it live on sky sports box office for free.
I don't ever have to pay for a fight and would have been pissed off if I'd have paid for this utter shit at the weekend.
