Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
So Mayweather won, Manny made excuses, and if they fight again Floyd wins again.
That being said there is an interesting fight next week. I say Canelo wins because he is more skilled, but he isnt exactly an elite when it comes to his boxing IQ. Kirkland pacs a wallop(if people still say that) and can pose a threat? who wins?
I assume Cotto wins his in June then should fight the winner of this fight, which i think to be Canelo, and the winner of that fight should fight golovkin, at which point i think Golovkin takes all of them.
Thoughts?

More smaller fighters for GGG to feast on.
Come on Golovkin fans.....time to raise the bar.

I just dont see any threat for him at middleweight, and i dont think he's big enough for super middle, guys like ward would eat him alive. Itd be a pointless fight. While cotto and canelo i think can bring some heat, he hasnt faced guys of their skill level.
-
Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Ggg beats them all I would be surprised if canelo doesn't beat Kirkland and if canelo and cotto fight I would pick canelo to win.

Well if ggg is soooo teeny and tiny
Why
Is he fighting at 160 instead of the more competitive and financial rewarding 154 division??
I mean
Since he's sooooo small.
Making 154 should be a walk in the park.
If Quillan were trying to fight Cotto and Canelo you'd be callin him a bitch for picking on those smaller fighters.;D

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Canelo has a good chin so I don't think that Kirkland has a chance. Canelo can use a jab. I think that he will box Kirkland and get the better of the exchanges too. It has the potential to be a fun fight but we will see.

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Canelo and Cotto aren't going to fight Golovkin.
-
Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
I've got Canelo winning. Kirkland was a boogey man once, but he's very one dimensional and predictable.

Not about what Canelo is, it's about what Kirkland isn't.
Ask Alfredo Angulo what Kirkland isn't supposed to be..if he can hear you..his ears are still ringing from that ass whoopin.
If Kirkland has a good camp, lil Red is in trouble.

Is kirkland back with wolf, if not he is fucked, but I hope he smashies Canelo, should be a great fight

See what I did?
Cotto isn't planning to fight any big dangerous NATURAL middleweights.
Nor should he be expected to.
He'll get hurt.
He's too small for the division, and has payed his dues.....if he wants to milk it I say leave him to it.
He'll fight Geale and Canelo then retire. That's how I'd like to see Cotto go out....not take another serious beating...especially at MW.
Shame on the people that want to see him fight Golovkin:rolleyes:
If Quillan called out Cotto they'd call him a bitch

She ain't the only trainer on earth.
For all you know Kirkland is having a helluva camp with his new trainer. You just can't pop off like a girl and say he's fucked.
True boxing fans should know better.

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Kirkland is everything most want in a fighter. Face first, very fierce, packs bricks and vulnerable. He is being patched back together here to make Alvarez look like the powerhouse he should of fought like vs Mayweather. The out of ring chaos, surgery, inactivity and a chin made of Lego logs will add up to Alvarez timing him like a clock and helping him run into a tko in about 6. Cotto v Alvarez would be great but I don't think either one wants any part of Golovkin.

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Canelo will beat the powerful, but extremely fragile (at this point) Kirkland. So what else is new?
His embarrassing loss to Floyd will be all but forgotten and he'll be hailed as the second coming once again.
People may even begin to clamor for a rematch with Floyd.
:vd:

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Doesn't mean I won't be rooting for Kirkland, though. ;)

Extremely fragile
A Tito fan knows all about that.;D

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Kirkland's chin is susceptible and he likes to brawl.
He could play right into Ginger Head's hands.
-
Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
I'll be rooting all out for Kirkland.
I just think he was carefully chosen by Team Canelo.

Leave that bitch Bolovkin out of this.
Kirkland took everything Angulo had and stopped him...that's not lego logs.
Canelito's chin isn't anything to write home about either.
If Kirkland catches him it's lights out.

Nah, Kirklands lego chin was there being annihilated by a guy with a total of 3 career ko's. Also there being badly wobbled in the 1st round of the fight prior vs TBA. What Kirkland got right..after getting up..with Angulo was his nerve. He got a grip and stopped thinking all it took was a bomb. Angulo has the speed and head movement of a Stop sign in a small hurricane and James could be the boxer. Really though it was prob the smartest fight Kirkland has fought. Against Alvarez Kirkland will be the stop sign in the wind.
-
Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
I think Geale may beat Cotto maybe even stop him and then what will people say oh let me guess, he was never a middle. Most already know that. He past on an Alvarez fight when he had an optional and got Geale in yet another catch. He's now looking past Geale and asking the Kazak to step aside afterward so he can pursue a fight with Alvarez. Why is that and why does he need the belt? I hope the Kazak says no and demands the fight. I've lost a ton of respect for Cotto since Martinez.
Alvarez has to be able to handle the James Kirklands of the world but he best bring his A-game

It's important that this is firmly established beforehand, because I can already see the Canelo bandwagon powering up again when he beats the carefully chosen and very vulnerable Kirkland. I hope Kirkland pulls off the improbable, but his recent track record would seem to indicate otherwise.

Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
Gennady Golovkin's ring weight is typically above 170. He says getting down to 154 is not a problem for him. I'm not so sure that's the case. He may not have a large frame but he carries the weight well. I think he'd fit right in a super middleweight.

Lego chin went to your beloved Mexico and destroyed Angulo...AFTER he was stopped by Iishida.
Canelito ain't annihilating anybody...he's not that kind of fighter.

:cwm13: Man, you seem to be one dense dude. Yes because why bother training all those irrelevant things like stamina, cardio, head movement and coming in behind a jab...when its easier to train a glass jaw.
This isn't Angulo. He may be Mexican and that seems where it ends for you. But this isn't Angulo

Cotto wants to keep the middleweight title to entice a fight with Floyd and I think he will beat Geale.

Kirkland did not look strong at the weigh in. That was all Kirkland had going for him, raw power and a will to throw and throw and throw. But at the weigh in he looked like a man that spent his whole camp shedding weight. Like a stiff breeze would blow him over. I expect him to be gassed before round 2. He might show bursts of energy here and there but this will be one sided.
-
Re: Moving on...Canelo vs Kirkland vs Cotto vs Golovkin
I'm looking forward to the Canelo fight, it'll be interesting to see where he goes after this fight, he is taking a long time in rebuilding his career after the Mayweather fight.
I did rate him before the fight with Floyd and he looked like he genuinely wanted to start stepping it up a gear, it's funny how he was being bullshited up to be the next best thing but that loss looks like it really fucked him up
-
I think Canelo catches too much heat. I don't particularly like him myself but he didn't have to face Trout, he didn't have to face Lara. Most people didn't go looking to fight these guys so I give Canelo respect for doing that. He was dismantled by Floyd but the kid is young, taking a few easier fights again isn't a crime. In the next year he needs to fight Andrade or move up though.

Canelito doesn't get a free pass...so what if he fought Trout and Lara....big deal...other guys fought them before Alvarez did.
His entire career is mostly easy fights.

That was what I was saying, his career has been easy fights up until that point, I think he felt as though he was finally ready to start stepping it up a gear and push on with the tougher fights, then Floyd came along and put a stop to that plan and he's had to go back to the drawing board

Watching the telecast (why oh why are we being subjected to the WHOLE May-Pac fight again??)....... and my worst fears are materializing. HBO can't WAIT to continue hyping Canelo as the next big thing in boxing. Oh godddddd...... Someone will have to get the HBO crew monogrammed knee pads as they go down on Canelo. The guy hasn't even climbed the ring against Kirkland and he's already being anointed.
I hope Kirkland beats that anointed ass.
