I talking about floyd and manny and them being the best two of there generation. It was a totally one sided event and I was wondering if there has ever been a more dominant performance ? It has to be two fighters that are the absolute best of there generation, I'm not talking about just two guys that are the best for a short period of time, like say Garcia and matthysse.
To name a few,
Pea/Chavez
Hearns/Leonard until the bull kicked the door in
Cal/Lacy
Robinson/Armstrong
were all much more dominating really. This fight was more dry dominance;D
Calzaghe vs lacy is nowhere close to being the best two fighters of a generation I'm talking about super fights onlyQuote:

Hearns/Duran... two ATG's and Hearns made him look like a journeyman set up for the kill.
Can't remember ever seeing one ATG dominate another ATG like that. If you didn't know who Duran was you'd question why they ever bothered to put him in there with Hearns.
Three or four knockdowns and the referee stepping in to stop the fight would have been a dominate performance like you are talking about.Quote:

Gerald McClellan vs Julian Jackson. That was unreal. Jackson still had a lot left in the tank at that time.
Winky Wright vs Sugar Shane.
Jones Jr. vs. Toney springs to mind.
Floyd won 116-112 in my opinion, never hurt or tried to finish his opponent.
I will say that I had hoped for and expected a more competitive fight.
Jones v Hopkins could be mentioned in hindsight.
Oscar v Chavez?
Good call on Toney/Jones. If you added it all up, I don't think Toney won 60 seconds of that fight.Quote:

The most dominant performance against an all-time great in his peak was Foreman's obliteration of Frazier in 1973. Granted, Ali was the best of that generation. But Frazier had beaten Ali and was undefeated (as was Foreman). And both fighters were in their red-hot primes. In contrast, PacMan is decidedly past his prime and Mayweaher is at the tail end of it.

Uuuh Foreman vs Frazier? ??
BHop over Tito was much more dominant than Floyd vs Manny. Floyd deserved the win, but he never really hurt or beat Manny up, he just shut Manny's offense down with his defense. I love the skill portion of the sport, but I wasn't overly excited or impressed by the way Floyd fought that one. Credit him for the clear win over his top threat though...
Dominant and greatest are two terms that become blurred real fast. But the first one I thought of was Whitaker vs A. Nelson. Both top in respected divisions, both p4p top ten. Hated everything about that fight as it unfolded and Whitakers clowny bs, but he was a shadow to hit in there. Monzon v Napoles deserves mention. Tszyu v Judah...chicken dance anyone :domo-kun:
Let me run one by you. McGirt vs Brown. Brown was the big strong, power punching terror of the division. McGirt was smaller, shorter, and injured. Rotator cuff shoulder injury.
He gave Brown a boxing lesson that involved judicious footwork, initiating and winning exchanges. And scoring a knockdown.

Pac vs Mayweather ( it was not fighting but running... a dominant running performance);D

Pac is not an atg, he is exciting, but too many losses in convincing fashion.
