Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
Manny has severely torn rotator cuff, will undergo surgery in Los Angeles next Monday. May face suspension and heavy fines for failing to disclose this serious injury before fight night.
However it seems to be true. Mayweather has tweeted he will fight Pac again after he recovers from surgery.

Damn, what a strange turn of events, they must think they can still make a boatload on a rematch

there WILL be a rematch about Nov./Dec. 2015

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
I thought it was strange to see Pacquiao fight Mayweather and not throw a single right uppercut/upperhook combination while he had him momentarily stunned against the ropes, begging for it.

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
I always frowned on conspiracy theorist but maybe ..... screw it, Ill watch them again, maybe will see a more active fight this time. But i dont see the alleged tweet by Floyd?

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
If he has the surgery, he's done. I will not even watch the fight if there is a rematch. You folks should not buy into it either, and that's coming from a pactard. I don't think any boxer can fully recover from a surgery like that.

Floyd fought Castillo 1 with a torn rotator cuff, had the surgery and went on to a fine career. But Floyd was also a lot younger... so who knows.

36 years of age, going downhill and a year of hibernation, I really doubt it.

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
I really don't buy the injury thing still. In the press conference, Pac said he injured it a few weeks out from the fight, but it had progressively gotten better before the fight (although not to 100%). A severely torn rotator cuff does not get better on it's own after a week or two. A severely torn rotator cuff requires surgery and causes real shoulder weakness. I'm sure he had a sore shoulder, probably even a small tear like he initially said, but I think it's being blown out of proportion now.
And again, I have to ask if it was his right shoulder that was the problem... where was the straight left hand? He couldn't land that either with any consistency. He hit Floyd with a good one in the 4th, and maybe 2 or 3 more in the fight that landed flush, but none of them had an effect. It's just Manny and his fans grasping at straws now.

You better be right, if not it means that Floyd has just beaten an injured, one-armed, midget, hugging and running, 112-116, just 2 rounds away from a draw. That automatically disqualifies him from ATG. An ATG should finish of a wounded tiger in 5 and I bet Sugar Ray or Tommy would've done so.

You may be correct my friend but they can do amazing work on torn rotators. You have pictures coming back from that surgery able to throw in the 90mph again. Still at pacs age it is a different story. Either way I really don't see Pac beating Money even at 100 percent at this stage in his career.

Anyone else thinking this is all fucking staged and a complete load of bullshit in order to stage a rematch ;)
-
Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
The truth is no one wants to watch Floyd box unless there is a real challenge in the other corner. Floyd will sell his next fight as his last and a chance to say farewell to a legend hype. I say good bye and good riddance.
Anyway the cunt will comeback for his 50th fight a year later a and fleece the fans again.
How else can he earn the extortionate amount of money for his boxing skills with no entertainment value .

Yes, Khan is saying he was approached by Mays people about I fight. I see that as another easy win for May. Then retirement, then in 2016 a comeback megafight with a "healthy" Pac with loads of hype and loads of money, we, and I include myself, are suckers.

Manny Pacquiao to have shoulder surgery for torn rotator cuff - LA Times
You can't even lift you arm with a "severely torn rotator cuff" even an old Turkey outta' know that.
Why didn't Manny say anything about his so called injury DURING THE POST FIGHT INTETVIEW ??

You would not believe Mayweather had a shoulder injury had he lost the fight.
You'd call him a sore losing excuse making coward..You would not believe the doctors or talk of surgery.
I thought it was strange that he didn't mention such a devistating injury during the post fight interview.;D

People, even the media, despise Mayweather so much they will accept this injury bullshit.
Manny didn't say shit after the fight.
When Floyd hurt his shoulder*and hand) he said so in the ring right after the fight...not the next day.
I didn't see Pac's corner massaging his shoulder...I didn't hear him complain...I didn't see him in any pain.
Pactrash was throwing punches from both sides...you can't do shit with a torn rotator.
A pinched nerve in your shoulder is pure hell...a torn cuff is worse than hell.

if this is basis for rematch then someone should sue Pac for selling a dodgy product

Oh why the Hell Not!... If half the people buy the rematch they still make over $50 million a peace.
Both of these two just need to retire and get the hell away from boxing! http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...-golovkin.html

Pac, TR and Koncz are being sued for deliberately misleading ticket buyers and gamblers. Many are expected to join the suit because it has merit. The fact is not disclosing the injury(if it exists) is illegal.

So so true.
Guys, the money involved in a rematch is crazy money.
Everyone promoting will get behind this and milk manny for all they can get.
Floyd never even got out of 2nd gear and he knows deep down that even though he has lost interest in the sport..another potential 170 million will never be ignored.
I am tired of all this crap.
Floyd should have listened to his dad and turned on the heat in one of the rounds to send out a permanent message..
Manny being out of action for a year after shoulder surgery at his age is even worse for him at this stage.
Manny should prove he deserves another shot by beating a Khan and thurman back to back..it's all pointless bollocks.!
Let's all get behind Andre ward and hope this comeback can get some big fights against GGG and move up to kovalev/Stephenson and create some excitement.

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
I will not believe these scumbags even if they broadcast the surgery live. Pacquiao should have said he injured the shoulder when he was shooting the Foot Locker commercials, maybe I'll buy into it.
-
Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
There's nothing on Floyd twitter about a rematch.
I don't know what to make of this, bit of a farce tbh.

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
I was going to start a thread about PacMan's odd demeanor before, during, and after the fight. I'll place it here because maybe, though I'm frankly still not sure how, Pac's injury explains it.
He was unusually happy and content before the match, as many journalists observed. But this continued during the fight, with a lot of smiling and offers to touch gloves. He did not fight mean, fight with any desperation, and made no attempt at a Hail Mary. Afterwards, he was, well, happy and content with his performance. He did not behave like a man who thought he was robbed.
He behaved like a man who was going thru the motions. I thought at the time that he simply knew he was done, or at least that he could never beat Mayweather. He had already accepted this, already moved on, and was thus happy and content.
An alternative hypothesis is that he knew this fight "wouldn't count". He was injured and promised a rematch in return for not pulling out. So he just went thru the motions.

Notice and watch the TV corporations have to create another PPV fighter to fill the void so they will manufacture another fighter for this legendary status.

Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
These two guys are high fiving and laughing like school girls behind the cameras. An hour after that thing ended I was fully convinced rematch was coming. It doesn't have to make sense, all it has to do is make money. There will still be enough gullible dopes willing to pay 2k a seat by the time they push the "issues" and false controversy up the hill.
-
Re: Floyd tweets he will fight Pac again; Pac in surgery next week
Why can't people just Floyd credit for being the better fighter? Can't believe all the excuses, justifications and conspiracy theories that are being thrown out there.
If Manny would have won, I would have been the first one to say I was wrong and that Manny was the better man.
Floyd was coming off a dominant performance and a very close call to Maidana in the first fight. Pac was coming off of 3 fights where, despite not getting a KO, he looked like the same old spectacular fighter we were used to seeing.
The better man won, time to let it go.

I am hoping Crawford will be the next big thing. Many signs are pointing to it being so. GGG is no doubt the real deal but Crawford has youth on his side. Sorry, I just went off topic.

I'm with you 100%! Piss on a rematch. Manny and his team expect to get a reward for pulling the stupid amateurish mistake of taking a fight while injured.
Fuck 'em, they don't deserve another huge payday, they can eat shit as far as I'm concerned.

Floyd Mayweather told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith in a text Tuesday that he would be open to a rematch after Manny Pacquiao recovers from shoulder surgery to repair a tear in his rotator cuff.
"I will fight him in a year after his surgery," Mayweather texted Smith on the heels of his unanimous decision over Pacquiao in the richest fight ever.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache told ESPN.com on Monday that Pacquiao will have surgery later this week to repair a "significant tear" in his rotator cuff, which he suffered prior to the fight. The surgery will sideline the boxer for at least nine to 12 months.

Somebody mentioned on another thread there is a class action lawsuit underway for fraud in this fight. Had this info been released prior to the fight imagine what the odds would have been. I'm not a lawyer, I don't know if they have to prove intent to commit fraud or if this equates to that. My response was Manny better deposit his money in a Philippines bank or in his mattress. If the fighters weren't making money on the bets being wagered I don't know how that holds up in court but with a class action lawsuit a lot of Lee way is given since its civil not criminal. It's a shame, even if something does become of it the lawyers take over half of it and the betting public will receive individual checks for seven bucks. I joined a class action once with a defective product I got, I think I got a check for four dollars when the item cost fifty, kind of funny, some lawyers made millions.

Thanks Brock, I was looking for further info on this. I wish the fight had been more competitive it would make the thought of a rematch very interesting. I don't know, a year away, these guys aren't getting any younger.
