Looks like well over 5 million buys

Astonishing. Lots of good to get this over with buyers I suppose.
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
I bet the majority will never buy a boxing event again.

The majority don't buy PPVs anyway. Mayweather's PPVs are usually around 1million and Pac's lower than that so that's around 4 million of those that don't buy PPVs anyway and wouldn't have continued to buy even if the fight was better because no other fight will get this hype again. Hell even you don't watch boxing, most of your posts after a fight say 'what happen? I didn't watch it' so if us 'boxing fans' aren't watching boxing then we can't fault the casual and non boxing fans (who expected a Rocky-esque fight).
I usually respect your posts and find them rather amusing but recently you have been acting like brucelee and pacfan with the negativity.

Lol I was thinking the same exact thing yesterday, I think it must be #1fightfan that's stole his account
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
just wait for Klitschko v Fury, the casual fan will be back for that purely because they think that the heavyweights are in the best division and pretty much everyone has heard of Tyson Fury weather they have watched him or not, you could see the media wheels going into motion and getting the british public to pay for that one without much of a problem
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
Boxing is dead.
Mind you, that number will take some beating, probably be the next generation of crossover stars when Floyd and co are retired
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
cant see that ever been beaten
unless Cleverley and Bellew touch gloves again

Just because boxing is dead on your side of the pond doesn't mean it's dead for us.;D

It's called humour. I know without the smiley face it's probably hard to tell from where you are standing.
British boxing is, has been and will continue to be one of the best domestic scenes on the planet. Certainly in pound for pound terms, considering the size of Great Britain, we punch well above our weight.

I must admit I am a bit pissed off staying up all night to watch the fight and saw that shambles has got to me.
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
I don't think Master is wrong, I like Floyd but the fight left a bad taste in most people's mouths and I think it definitely hurt boxing. Manny isn't getting his share of the blame though, he was supposed to be the guy who was different, bring the excitement and force Floyd to fight. The only thing he brought with him was a suitcase full of excuses. Shameful.
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
For all the BS that BOXING is on the slide, 5 million PPV say's a lot all other fighting sports take
note, boxing is still top of the pile and will be for some time.;)

Not sure I agree and based on the fight overall that fight may have done more harm then good. I'd bet half the buyers were not even boxing fans and after watching it will use it as evidence as to why they are not. In addition Floyd is an anomaly. Others that fight in a safety first style cant draw flies.
The fight was also an anomaly. Like an academy award movie that nobody had a chance to see or at least that was what it was supposed to be. Many again, bought the fight out of curiosity on what all the fuss was about. They left it wondering the same thing. I think the spinoff from this fight is the quickened end to PPV which imo is a good thing. It never helped the sport in any way that I can see.
I think guys like Haymon and Jay z saw it coming and so have the networks which will do more to keep the sport alive then the glory few of the sport.
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
This fight brought a lot of new potential boxing fans into the boxing tent, but the fight was disappointing so most of them walked out and a lot are unlikely to come back in in the future.
I don't think true boxing fans are going to stop watching boxing because this fight was a bust.

Me either
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
That gets beaten when Johsua and Wilder hook it up.... especially if the remain undefeated... get money from both sides of the pond!
Re: Looks like well over 5 million buys
Are not the majority of these buys by businesses in America, which can then be written off as a business expense.

Floyd v Pac may not have set the World alight, but Canelo v Kirkland did a good fight for the casual
fight fan, all in all a action fight that's boxing from boring to magnificent, that why you have to
love boxing it keeps you guessing.:)

Quite amazing how hard it is for some to detect sarcasm. It's not just the thicko's either (well sort of makes you a thicko).
I guarantee if I started a thread now saying Naz was a useless fraud, there are people on this forum, who have read/posted in my Naz threads, that would tell me i'm a hater/wrong.
