Not a chance. Rocky would have killed him. Too much weight.
Sugar may have been too quick I think. Rocky would be on the back foot and wouldnt be able to get off. @greynotsoold How could Marciano get off his punches against a slickster like this? I dont see his weight being much of an advantage.
I don't think there's any question that Robinson is BY FAR the more skilled fighter between the two.
I'm not sure of what you're trying to pull here, but it is not funny.
Do you want to see what would have happened. Look below.
Guess which one was 'Sugar Ray'.
Hint > He's not wearing 'Caterpillar Yellow'.

Robinson wouldn't have a chance. It wasn't his nature to stay away and play it safe; if he did Marciano would cut him off.
For the record, I think Ezzard Charles beats Ray Robinson St least 8 times out of 10.
SRR is not taking Rocky's punches on his arms and body for 15 rounds, there's no way. He would have wilted.
When I seen the title of the thread I was expecting it to be yours @brocktonblockbust but then again the title isn't crazy enough. :D
haha @Manos de Piedra I am one crazy-ass mofo aint I.
If SRR could not last with Maxim then he would not have done it with Rocky who I am sure would have loved to have fought him. :)
Imagine the punch that KO'd Walcott landing on a welterweight/middleweight......yeah Rocky, by MURDER
I know the old school fighters would fight a division or two above their normal weights but this is too far a jump to even consider. Given that if Rocky drained himself down to light heavy it would be a different story.
It's like Jake Lamotta said, "LOOK AT THESE SMALL HANDS, IM NEVER GONNA FIGHT JOE LOUIS". And Lamotta was a natural MW, Robinson grew into it over time.
Lamotta couldn't fight Joe Louis and SRR couldn't fight Marciano!
Well let me tell you he might outbox him a few rounds but when he gets in to a wrong exchange its over i mean the Rock could break his arms if he covered up. I mean Rocky punch pound for pound could knock out guys way bigger then him and Robinson like to brawl at times and then it be good night to him and would not wake up till the next day. Weight classes are there for a reason people say how shit hw division is now which i think is exaggerated but there a reason no lhw or cw goes up and tries to take on the champ or if they do they lose badly most of the time.
Marciano was, too everything that counted, for SRR. Too big, too strong, hit too hard, too aggressive, and his chin was too good.
Would have been a bad day for the Matador, El Toro would have tossed him out of the ring.
Oh My God !!!
"I think Rocky just killed that skinny guy. Can I have his 'Diamonds' forever."

Yeah, Jill and I had a thing going on, but she was too damn needy so I cut her loose. Hell man, every time I turned around she was standing there! LOL
Did you know,
That Jill St. John was a true 'Red-Head', and a true 'Red-Lower'
