Ross Burkinshaw is determined to put on a winning performance when he makes his debut appearance on Spike TV on Saturday May 30.

The ‘Steel City’ fighter battles South African Klaas Mboyane for the WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight title at Rotherham’s Magna Centre and, with the action shown live and FREE on the digital TV channel, Burkinshaw says he won’t disappoint.

“It’s Spike TV’s first live boxing event and I want to put on a great show,” explained Ross. “At this stage in my career, it’s all about winning too though. I’ve put shows on in the past and sometimes, if you put too much pressure on yourself, it doesn’t go in your favour. So, whatever I need to do on Saturday night to win the fight, that’s what I’m going to do.”

Burkinshaw, who has won both the Commonwealth and WBO European bantamweight crowns in his last two fights, is a fighter on the up. The 28-year-old former soldier says he is in the form of his life and is promising his army of fans he will be adding a new belt to his collection after dismantling Mboyane.

“I’ve had world class sparring with Paul Butler and other top sparring partners, and it’s all gone great,” said the former English super-flyweight champion. “I’ve never been in better shape, the right ‘Ross the Boss’ is going to turn up on Saturday night and that’s what is going to win me that belt.”
