What are his chances against Floyd?
Worse than Manny's.
It's a shit fight and it better not happen!
Khan can't be counted on to cut the mustard.
Khan is a decent fighter, and seems to be as brave as they come. He has very fast hands and good technique.
On the downside, he has been fragile and I think he never has a Plan B because he is definitely not a thinker in the ring. He gets drawn away from his gameplay time after time.
The only threat he poses to Mayweather is if Floyd suddenly gets old during the fight.
Punch power, chin, experience, ring smarts and a winning attitude all belong to Floyd.
I don't really see what Floyd would want the fight, what's really in it for him? No title on the line, not a rival in the P4P stakes and not an opponent who is recognised worldwide. Floyd needs crossover fights at this stage of his career, and the Khan fight is strictly one for boxing fans.
As Don King regularly says "he's got 2 chances, slim and none.....and Slim's outta town right now!"
No way should this fight ever happen.
Yup. Even best case scenario and Floyd goes out and scores a sensational early KO, which would be so rare for Floyd. What does he gain? It's like "who cares, 140lb Danny Garcia knocked him out and 135lb Prescott."
Nothing to gain, not an interesting fight. Khan has a ton of speed and athletic ability but he doesn't have the ring IQ to go with it. Floyd has many gears, Khan has 1 gear.
Khan brings the illusion of hope along with a huge overseas fan base.
The fight will sell well and big money will be made.
That's all that matters at this point. Right?
So we end up with yet another shit Floyd fight so people can keep throwing shit on Floyd for picking the wrong opponent?
Yep..... sounds like a plan to me.
Khan isn't in Floyd's UNIVERSE as far as ring IQ.
There isn't a better fighter for Floyd to fight actually
.
Khan currently is garbage, but he had great potential...
Based on his interviews, I'd say he is not his own man in boxing ...
I'd give Khan around a 40% chance of winning and that's about 39% more than anyone else at 147. I'm not sure if floyd can hurt Kahn and if he can't it could be a very interesting flight. I'm a floyd fan and hope he wins but if that fight happens I'll 100% be putting some money on Khan for the upset.
I give him 20%
Before their respective last fights I gave him 50%
No one penetrates Floyd's defence. Not even me
I agree with Mark. Khan looked very bad last time out. Mayweather couldn't stop a bus, but he would likely knock Khan out.
Even if you ignore Khan's last fight - everyone can have an off night plus Aligeri is a good fighter plus Floyd would never adopt the tactics he did - his lightening fast flurries wont have much of an affect on Floyd. He will probably end up looking silly as Floyd evades them. He wont be able to gauge the distance and will end up diving on to a million right hands.
Floyd isn't a powderpuff puncher. He wouldn't have been able to beat the guys he has if he was.
However, Khan still does bring something new to the table. There are worst opponents Floyd could choose.
Better than Mannys in my opinion. Still a fight I really want to see.
Agree Fenster
As much as I don't want him to get the fight his style is the best out there to cause Floyd problems and maybe put him behind on the score cards early and put him in a place we've not seen him before
Khan is the Sam I Am of getting rocked. He could be in any arena vs anybody and he can be wobbled. Floyd doesn't need huge power as accuracy and depth will rule the day. Khan gets enveloped in stress and over thinking a situation, bundle of nerves. Seriously, Floyd would eat that up.
Khan has a chance with his speed but only for 4 rounds whilst Thurman is less experienced than Khan but more dangerous for full 12 rounds.
I think Floyd beating Thurman will mean more to his legacy than Khan. Thurman will go on to bigger and better things as Canelo has.
Floyd is looking for big money not a legacy fight.
At 39 years of age, why would Floyd risk his health for a much smaller payday against a guy people are speculating may be a better fighter than Khan...? Thurman could end up being on the same level as Khan, or ever less highly regarded--you're only speculating that he'll be better.
Khan has speed, but not much else.
It's a joke that people think speed alone can beat Floyd.
Keith One Time Thurman knocks out Mayweather and that's a cold fact!

I dont think theres a fighter from 136 to 154 from any era that would knock out Floyd Mayweather. Only way Floyd gets KOd is if he fights when he is too old and clearly shot.
Pretty much any argument for Khan troubling Floyd can be summed up as, "He fast doe!". Khan showed in the Algieri fight that he still has the same flaws he's always had, and he can't hope to match Floyd in ring IQ.
It's a joke that people think speed alone is enough to beat Floyd.
If there was going to be a fighter to beat Mayweather he have to have the style and skill set of Hearns or Leonard to do it and the talent is not in the division right now. It does not really matter the fight just have it happen and let a new era in i guess doesnt really matter anymore GGG be the most for legacy i guess. On the other hand no way shape or form is Mayweather going to take the fight and for good reason he is not a mw and should not have to fight at that weight class anyhow so eh who cares really.
The straight punches flurries while going forward is what makes me want to see that matchup... pressuring a shoulder roll type of fighter with distance combos is usually effective
