Anyone really up for this one??? I had to do a double take when I noticed it a few weeks ago. Meh. Stay busy for Lara and another run for hard luck but well done Rodriquez. Hey Artur Beterbiev set to demolish Alexander Johnson on the undercard! It is kicking off on Spike right now.
Johnson looks like he is fighting from under his sheets. Very patient 1st for Beterbiev, thought Johnson won it,...but it won't matter.
Round 3. Hmm. Big stalking round for Beterbiev in 2nd. Not much put together, certainly doesn't move his head much either. Got snuck a few flashy cheap punches but Beterbiev in control
Johnson raggedy end of 3rd, feeling a few shots to the gut there! Expecting Beterbiev to close this out very soon
Beterbiev turned into a rock grinder last part of 4th, serious two fisted hard pressure but Johnson shook and twisted his way out to last. That sneak southpaw left is the only thing that looked good from Johnson.
Johnson starting to think about cold drinks and a hot tub, seriously hurt there. Solid closer Beterbiev, Johnson no legs! They should call him in corner
Corner putting it ALL on fighter about poss stopping it. That's all for the cameras and fighter deserves a braver corner...he is done! Into the 6th
Beterbiev just took the 6th off ??? Johnson with some confidence back off a few fast one-twos. Corner again threatens to stop fight..
Beterbiev scores two brutal KDs in 8th, last one a bashing right off the temple to an already hurt Johnson. Very calculating and controlled 8th round tko for Beterbiev! Still think he needs work before Kovalev.
Johnson was doing the right thing going to the body but maybe should have thrown more. He was overmatched but he took Beterbiev rounds so decent stamina test if nothing else

Matter of temperament on Lara. Wouldn't be shocked to catch slow starter Delvin and drop him ugly early. Rodriquez is one of the good guys..I hope lightning strikes for him via uppercutQuote:

I thought Lara might be cautious but he's just landing at will with the straight left. No way this goes long if Rodriguez doesn't get out of deer in the headlights mode. Easily Lara's round.
Delvin's footwork is awful here, his legs don't look strong at all. Lara can't miss with the straight one-two. Delvin looked really bothered by the straight shot to the mouth at the end of the 2nd. Visible wince when that landed.
2-0 Lara.
More of the same, Delvin can't cope with the speed.
3-0 Lara.
Very good sharpshooting by Lara. Knows its his showcase to make, those combos cannot miss! Rodriquez is two steps and one full minute behind over three rounds. Lara needs to downshift soon and make the highlight reel
Slow fourth. Lara took it off. He needs to do more. Still took it though.
4-0 Lara.
Ol' Rodriquez almost loses his piece after body shot, even for Rodriquez he looks slow. Lara in full control..time to kick in the door or bore us
Crowd booing in the 5th. Lara could drop him if he steps it up. He treats too many of his performances like a pity-pat showcase. This is a fight he can afford to take some chances in to make the crowd go home happy. I feel like he is settling for point scoring shots.
5-0 Lara anyway.
Boom! Lara drops him at the end of the 6th with a straight left. Finally stepped it up.
6-0 Lara with a 10-8 round. Time to finish it now.
That was as sharp and jarring as they come, great left! They need to seriously stop mentioning Mayweather though. I was hoping for that 3 yrs ago but it won't happen. Lara can end this to the belly, his call.
Delvin's best round. He landed more in that round than he has the entire fight as if the knockdown pissed him off. He still didn't do enough for me though.

Jesus Christ Lara is so frustrating. He'll land some incredible shots when he steps up and hurts him but rather than jumping on him he goes back to pot shotting with the jab. He can finish this any time he wants.

Lara just tapping on a drum here and tons of posing, again. Rodriquez just bends into counters. Someone needs to start watching em
Some more booing in the 9th but Lara still not going for the finish. He rocked Delvin's head back with some highlight reel shots but still no kill. I could see Delvin's corner pulling him out as he's not doing much.

Lara is dominating but he's forgetting Cotto destroyed Rodriguez in 3. The counters are beautiful but this is a knockout business and it is right there for him. Hard to feel sorry for a guy who bitches about not getting big fights when he can't even sell himself.

Delvin jawing at Lara and going through motions...Lara watches and rolls out. Hope Rodriquez is thinking about getting out, in bigger picture.
Clear knockdown, not sure how the referee called that a slip. Delvin looks utterly done. Nothing left in his legs at all and yet Lara still coasting.
11-0 Lara with a 10-8 in the 6th.
Nice little showboating there from Delvin in the 12th but he was dominated.
Lara's nickname should be "The Tourist" because you feel like when he's in the ring, he's more interested in sight seeing than getting business done. Awesome skills but he could have finished this at any time and didn't which is why I thought Delvin would last the distance.
I have it 120-107 Lara.
Lara gets a UD. All 3 scored it the same as me 120-107.
Lara called our Mayweather, Cotto and said he wants Golovkin at 160. I'd like to see the Golovkin fight. It'd be interesting to see how Gennedy deals with a skilled mover.
Lara just stamped his glad to be the opponent status. That was sparring done in his hotel suite. To generous, to spoiling hit and hide and to Lara. Mayweather won't touch this..Golovkin would be a laughing stock if he went there.
I think he should take it though. Triple G's team say he's avoided and there is a skilled guy calling him out. I'd rather see this than see him fight an overmatched gatekeeper. If GGG can walk Lara down and finish him it would be a helluva statement.Quote:
