Who do you think wins?
"I gotta tell ya, Khan's speed is gonna give Mayweather problems", blah, blah blah...
That's the only selling point of this fight
Don't think the fight happens. If it does happen, Floyd wins pretty easy. Khan didn't look good at all vs Algieri, imagine that performance vs Floyd. That's the main reason I don't understand Floyd walking away from that fight. It will actually sell and isn't too risky (although not as much of a "gimme" fight as Berto or Mayfield).
Someone on another site told me Khan is the future.
He's 28 years old, and has a style that relies heavily on his speed. As you saw in his last fight, he has glaring technical flaws.
Face it, it's over for Khan.
I wouldn't mind seeing it. How can it possibly be any worse than the Pac fight?
Khan is a decent fighter and I'm sure he'd give it his all. He's been in some good fights over the years and his speed might give Floyd something to think about.
If Khan had a reliable chin and could string together good performances then this would be a good fight.
Unfortunately, he doesn't and he hasn't.
I think floyd should win but I also think if anyone is going to beat floyd is Khan. If that fight happens you can be sure your probably going to see the best Khan possible and his chin is not as bad as people make out. Plus you have the fact floyd is not a big puncher Khan could quite easily outwork and out point floyd IMO very tricky fight for floyd been saying it for a long time now that fights all risk and no reward for floyd. I give Khan a good shot and I'll be sticking a bet on Khan for the upset if the fight happens.
everyone is saying khan has no chance but who does (WW and below)?
least khan offers something different from what weve seen him fight over the last few years
Consider this:
Khan's defense is poor, he has no inside game, he doesn't look comfortable on the back foot, and has a low ring IQ.
Khan doesn't belong at 147. He's going to get beat against anybody at world level at that weight. Him and Danny Garcia are both in the same boat, I can definitely see them fighting each other again. If Floyd does fight Khan in September it'll be an easy Floyd win.
Khan will offer better opposition for Floyd than Berto or the joker he named.
Khan is not as threatening for Floyd as Brooks or Thurman.
If Mayweather is going to fight a Brit, it should be Brook.
Personally, I want to see Mayweather in there with One Time Keith Thurman.
Amir has fucked his chances of getting a big fight. It doesn't nothing for Floyd to beat him.
If Floyd knocks out Khan, so what? It's been done twice by smaller men. If he wins a decision, so what? Khan's been beat 3 times and almost beat by guys like Juan Diaz and Chris Algieri.
I'd rather see him fight another undefeated guy with experience, like Thurman or Brook.
Khan "might" have past his prime.
Fair point, to a degree.
There are some who believe Khan is delusional and also rubbish.
There are also some who believe that no one has a chance of beating Mayweather, hence it doesn't matter, and therefore is not really about who you put in front of Mayweather to beat him (assuming they weigh a reasonable weight) but more about making an exciting fight for once.
Khan, with his hand speed and unreliable chin, would make for a very exciting fight and a very good way for Mayweather to end his career with a knock-out win.
I don't know anything about lists etc. but I have seen interviews on YouTube with the likes of Roy Jones Jnr and co. who still think Khan/ Thurman are the two choices for his next opponent.
I think its more boxing nerds who don't want Khan to fight, more than anyone else ???
Personally I think Porter will be next.
Khan's a real good fighter but I think the biggest argument for Khan is the built in fan base he brings, and not his chances of actually dethroning Mayweather, especially after having IMO a razor-close fight with Chris Algieri that could have went either way.
I give Kell Brook and Thurman a fair shot of beating Mayweather. Floyd is well past his best years and you're talking about two younger undefeated guys with a lot of experience and skill.
Thurman in particular is extremely athletic and has legit 1-punch power in both hands. He also has great boxing skills and a hard, educated jab (which is what a lot of Mayweather's detractors say is the key to beating him).
I think boxing nuts would just much rather see Floyd fight a younger fighter at their peak. Khan has gone through so many ups and downs and mediocre performances over the last few years to really be taken seriously, even with his speed and skill IMO.
im not arsed who floyd mayweather fights, i think hes a bellend and his fights are usually shit
but as im sat at work with nothing to do ill comment on this thread
no one at WW or light middle would go into a fight with floyd as favourite, in fact you be daft to be against floyd in any fight at those weights
Khan, Brook, Thurman or Porter are all acceptable choices and challenges for the so called lb4lb best, they all have a simlar chance as each other and bring different things
out of all of them i would say khan has a good a chance as any, porter probably has the worst chance, and i dont think thurman is skillfull enough to cause mayweather many problems
