Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
He did talk quite a lot of shit and seemed to live in the past.
I remember reading his top ten heavyweights of all time list and he had Jack Dempsey at number one. I call that "exhibit A" when I refer to him talking shit.
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
Carnera isnt qualified to beat either Klitschko!
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
Anybody who leaves out Lennox Lewis in his top 100...a guy that would have destroyed the field in any era in history cant be taken seriously.
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
He was a clueless joke, I don't understand how he was even a pundit.

Yes. He was a fucking fraud.
Not knowing shit about a subject never stopped him from talking about it, or even writing a book about it.
I remember he wrote a book about pro wrestling, and in it he claimed that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's real name was Rocky Melvin, among other gems.
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
Not surprised he did that, I'm sure he had a better eye for play fighting.
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
Bert was a character and was fun to listen to but you knew when he talked crap that was it.
Re: Bert Sugar Interview: Primo Carnera Kills Klitschko
Yes the 190lb Jack Dempsey has to be the best HW ever , forget the fact he was out boxed by the 189lb Gene Tunney.
Yes Burt he was the best in a magical land .
To clear the argument up we should really ask the only authority on boxing Peter Fury.

Bert Sugar lived right near me in Chappaqua, New York.
I used to ride with him on the Metro-North Train to New York City.
He was real. Always had the Hat on, and always had a Cigar {unlit} in his mouth.
He was a good guy to talk to. He loved the old-school boxers from the small 'smoke-filled' arena's.
He was a 'bit' full of himself, but the man 'loved' boxing.
