Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
With hindsight Shawn Porter couldn't have been a worst matchup for Paulie. Without the strength or power to slow Porter down you've got no chance.
If you ignore that piece of form, and the fact that Paulie hasn't fought since then (14 months), then stylistically Garcia could be a good matchup for him. The pace Garcia fights at will give him time to think and move. Paulie was in good form - close fight with Broner/beat Zab - right before the Porter whooping. Garcia has been outboxed and looked a bit ropey lately.
Garcia is a rightful favourite, I wouldn't be surprised if he irons Paulie out, however Paulie is a 6/1 shot to win. 8/1 to win on PTS. (he's obviously not going to win by KO but you have to factor in cuts/injuries)

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
I agree. Malignaggi will always have a hard time with someone that can walk him down and bully him, but Garcia has poor footwork, low output and hasn't looked decent in several fights. Malignaggi, if he is in shape, should be able to stick and move all night long and I can see Garcia getting frustrated as usual. It all depends on Malignaggi as we pretty much know what Garcia brings.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Pulling for Paulie in this one, don't like Garcia for the Morales fights. He probably shoulda lost to Peterson he looked relieved when the scores were read. If Garcia wins I want to see him fight Crawford.

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
I think I may stay up for this fight and do a rbr.
I will give @ryanman a ring at 2am and wake him up for it.

Garcia vs Maliganaggi
Does anyone on Earth give a shit about this fight? Now if you want to see Paulie get his ass kicked then this is your show. Other than that why was this bullshit even made? There are lots of good fighters Danny should be fighting. I guess just a easy payday.

Re: Garcia vs Maliganaggi
I backed Paulie via Split Decision at 50/1. I think he has a chance. Garcia is pretty limited and fades down the stretch. If Paulie can start well I give him a decent shot of causing an upset.

Those are good odds and I agree. Paulie is not as busy as he once was but he is very experienced and I could see him doing it. If I had BT that is. Cant stay up till 2 tonight so will have to watch on yt knowing the result.

You don't have BT? Want an invite?

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
The only saving grace about this card for me is that its live boxing on a Sat. night ;D. Have rooted against Mora and Paulie quite a bit, even rooted for Paulies hair when it went total anarchist on his head. But at least Garcia has made the full jump in weight and stopped the baby step CW nonsense. He's thinking Paulie is faded bad, will be undersized and cannot bust a grape but provide a serviceable scalp in name event. Paulie has all the tools to beat what I think will be a bloated over confident Garcia and I hope he does.
As weird as it sounds Mora is a massive step up in comp for Jacobs!

I hope Jacobs knocks the shit out of Mora, big time heart coming back from bone marrow cancer. Don't really like him as a boxer but that shows some heart.

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
As much as I want those outcomes, in reality this is what will happen. Garcia stops Paulie somehow..broken hand or cut maybe. Mora spoils again with his shitty style. Draw or some shit MD.

Spot on. He's never lacked spirit, Jacobs can bring it. Wonder why Garcia didn't name Judah in that highlight reel run down?

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
I think it is a decent double header. I like Garcia/Malignaggi as a matchup too
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Rosie Perez can still get it.

Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.

Each man down in 1st. Fun start
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
:shotgun5lu8: great exchange of kds. Jacobs is all off end of round!
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Wasn't expecting much tonight but a decent opening round.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Nice hooks by both causing kd's. Good start, Jacobs looks like he's got more power though.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Round of the year candidate. Teddy Atlas is annoying as fuck. Wish he'd been knocked down.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Timing kills Jacobs but Mora ain't dealing with this barrage, just not strong enough
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
That was a fair scrap and a decent stoppage for once. Well done Jacobs.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Despite all his faults, Mora never been a punk. If he said he's hurt than he must be hurt
-
Shame it had to end like that. It was surprisingly fun to that point.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Oh bugger, I didn't see that leg assault. Ooh, maybe not such a clean decent ending. A shame.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Knee or no knee..how the fook you interviewing Mora first???
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
I thought he tweeked his knee but guess he had his ankle break from weight flling on it...now this guy wants a NC, this is why I hate Mora. He was getting punched and he hurt himself not a headbutt or elbow or some shit.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Not convinced by Jacobs in that one. Harsh on Mora to lose like that.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Every time I see Jacob it reminds me of what became of poor Dmitry Pirog
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Pirog vs GGG woulda been good.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Favor Quillin over Jacobs, not sure what that is saying. Too many holes
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Malignaggi will knock him out in round 2! Bang, a popped ankle, and it's all over. No way Garcia gets up from that.
-

Pirog could have been a very special fighter. Very sad we never got to see it happen. That Jaobs fight was a masterclass.

It would of been good. It was actually set up to happen. Priog was stripped of his WBO title for signing to fight Golvotkin instead of N'Jikam. But than he hurt his back
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Pritchard Colon. That is a rather unfortunate name.
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
Rooting against Colon for the beard alone
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
I just looked up what happened to Pirog. I had no idea. How the hell did I miss that?
-
Re: Paulie Malignaggi-Danny Garcia --- Sat/BT/ESPN. Fact.
The Colon has landed. Good finish.

He injured his back and had to quit boxing.
