How should Fury go about beating Wlad's ass?
Klit's gotta go
Peds, they gotta be on the same level eh ;)
Pressure and consistant punches in bunches.
Wlad is fine dealing with ones and twos and has been lucky not to face anyone with the skill to throw effective combinations.
Watch the Jennings fight. When Jennings works, Wlad hesitates. Tyson has the ability to pour it on.
Bear hug him. Rabbit punch him. Goad him. Hit him low etc etc and drain him
Then knock him out in the 7th
Simple
Right. And it is rare for a giant to have such agility and fury has that.
When wlad is up against tall fighters like himself, he usually stays on the outside instead of his usual clinchfest.
My initial thought was that fury should use his mobility and box with him but now im starting to think that he should force an inside fight.. Wlad has no inside game and as strong as fury is, he should make it a dirty fight at close range.
He should throw caution to the winds and go for that KO, it's the only way he can win. Lol
First thing is..... do not get hit or it is curtains early.
Wlad has destroyed fighters that have good chins... Fury has no chin.
Worryingly, Steve cunningham dropped him heavy and he isn't known for any real power.
----------------
If he can avoid being hit with a massive shot he is still less than half as skilled as Wlad as a boxer and he will not be able to outbox him... so he needs to jab and move then get inside for big combos, before pulling out and controlling the fight from the outside.
----------------
More realistically I believe that he needs to KO Wlad! He needs that stoppage and the only saving grace is that Wlad has a weak chin.
All theory... I don't see Fury getting past 4 rounds.
He just doesn't have the chin, power or skills to do anything Wlad hasn't seen and handled before.
However I'd love Fury or Wlad to win as both annoy me.
Wlad wont be able to do much if Tyson keeps his punch rate up which will not be a problem for him. Wlad doesnt like to be pressured and every time he is for instance against smaller fighter like Jennings, Chambers and Povetkin he cant box with them, he has to stall the action by holding. Wlad is good at what he does against the fighters hes faced, well beaten but to me if a fighter has good boxing ability (which Tyson does despite people like vendettos repeating over and over that he has little skill) and has belief to keep pressuring Wlad he can win.
I think Wlad will be trying to hold a lot here.
Fury has to use his size and reach to win and outbox Wlad and take away his best weapon which is Wlad's jab.
After frustrating and out boxing Wlad, Fury should drop right hands and uppercuts as Wlad tries to hug and fight dirty with Tyson.
Fury should then use his weight and size to get his own back and lean on Wlad and tire the old man out.
Fury should finish strong and win a decision or if he can stop Wlad because he could get cheated out of a decision.
Start fast, keep the punches flowing and never let Klitschko get comfortable.
Timing. For all Wlad's tiresome tying up and leaning on, which not so much bend the rules as tear the book up, the guy has skills. He knows how to make space and he is more than capable of landing a big right or even upper cutting Big ole Fury, and ending it very quickly with one punch, or a short combination, after a punch that stuns Tyson.
He is brutally efficient at times and Fury is a highlight KO waiting to happen.
I'm not sure if I can really count myself as a Fury fan as such. I like the guy, but I find his antics outside the ring more entertaining than what he does inside it. He's not exactly overly blessed with talent and has been in his share of lousy fights.
If I were him I would just try a bit of everything. Make it ugly at times and mess Wlad around, fight orthodox and southpaw and keep it long in other rounds and, if he's confident he can risk taking a shot, he should take it to him as well. Just be unpredictable and don't let Wlad settle into a rhythm.
I honestly haven't got a clue how this is going to pan out and that's what makes it interesting. Fury's chin is the biggest worry. He's been down against some light punchers, sure, but he's always got up on steady legs and got straight back into it so he seems to be able to recover pretty quickly. The trouble is, he's never been in with someone with Wlad's power before and there's no doubting that Wlad is in a different league to his previous opponents. We just don't know how good or bad Fury is. He could easily be knocked out the first time Wlad hits him with a solid shot or he could produce something no one thinks he's capable of. It's a mystery to me!
AJ complained that Fury was to rough? ;D
More like Tyson had to hold on for dear life to survive getting chinned out and losing his rolex. Fact.
As I said, he has recovered quickly when he's been down and has come back strong so he does have heart and a will to win. But he has been decked by light punchers and Wlad is going to hit him harder than he's ever been hit in a professional fight. There's also no getting away from the fact that his management have avoided putting him in with punchers throughout his career. His chin is a definite factor in this fight.
The thing is, Wlad doesn't have much of a chin either and has been knocked out by some very ordinary fighters himself, albeit a long time ago. If Fury hits him clean on the chin there's every chance Wlad could end up flat on his back as well. Wlad is also no spring chicken and might start feeling the pace if Fury can make life difficult for him.
I really don't know what's going to happen and that's what makes it so interesting. I'm certainly not writing Fury off like some are.
To be fair they tried to get a better name instead of Cunningham. They offered Arreola the fight among others and there is an interview with Arreolas trainer basically saying they wouldnt want to face Tyson as hed be very awkward for them.
Tyson spent most of the press conference to announce the fight ridiculing Cunningham and saying hes only a small man, a cruiser weight and that he will knock him spark out. Which he did;) He also praised him for being the only fighter willing to face him. Look at Haye for crying out loud, Wlads most dangerous opponent, fought Wlad with a broken toe but cant face Tyson even though Tyson fought with an identical injury in his next fight;D
Ross , expect a call from the Government or something because you are seriously becoming an absolute and complete expert on recycling. I reckon they may contact you on how to save the planet!!!
how you regurgitate post after post after post spouting the same old bollocks on multiple threads is a skill to be admired. you must've posted over 500 times on the same subject in different threads since this fight was made!
I salute you and admire your tenacity . ;)
or is it that you're getting as many posts in as you can now while you're not banned? ;D;D;D
Wlad smashes Fury. And he smashes him early. First, second round
The fact is, Fury hasn't fought a top fighter at any point in his career and Wlad is an enormous step up for him. What happens in this fight is 100% dependent on Fury's ability to cope with a fighter the like of which he's never fought before.
It's a great pity that the Haye fight didn't happen because it would have answered the questions that are still being asked now.
There are question marks over Fury's chin and the level he's been fighting at - there's absolutely no getting away from that. He's fought no one of any real note and has been dropped by a single punch from fighters not known for their power.
Fury has a chance because he's enormous, awkward and unpredictable. He's also shown good heart in the past and demonstrated that he can find a way to win and stay unbeaten when he is in trouble. He'll give it a go and, regardless of what happens, I expect a far better and more courageous effort than the pathetic display that Haye offered up on the biggest night of his life.
I hope Fury wins, but I have nothing to go on when trying to seriously assess his chances against someone like Wlad.
