Who win this ? Usually most of the hate is towards Floyd but it's not if he's a PED cheat or uses illegal hand warps etc. I don't think I've ever hated another boxer and felt the need to really put them down.

Probably more favour of the month like, but that Resto guy probably has had far greater hatred than adoration.
Him and James Butler ???
Jack Johnson comes to mind...he wasn't as horrible as the rest of these guys but he was plenty hated.
Edwin Valero, Carlos Monzon, Ike Ibeabuchi, James Butler
Good group of bad seed.
Nice grab on Johnson and it was not just from the establishment. He turned his back on his own past and sold out to those in the game with the same colour skin pigment. I bet Mcvey, Jeanette, Langford and countless more hated his guts. I'd bet Robinson had his fair share also.
"Hate" is such an odd word
Here in Canada although most where I live have never heard of him, Matthew Hilton fits the bill especially in Quebec, specifically Montreal. That entire Hilton family was a train wreck.
Overall I'd say the colour barrier days had to be the worst vs any given person. Things like Moore having to fight 160 fights to get a title shot in his mid/late 30's and the rest of Murderers Row getting boned up the ass. Burley took that to his grave. That system pretty much defines the term.
Jack Johnson was vilified and chased out of his own country.
Muhammid Ali was hated by right wingers, army types and conservatives.
Mundine for his comment about 9/11
I hate Floyd
Off the top of my head , Margarito.
I think Khan, Froch and Bellew are twats, but I couldn't say I hate them.
Jack johnson was the most hated ever.
He was as black as they come in the highest weight class and every fight he had the audience wanted to kill him and his mother.
There is no other fighter that went through that much hate...ever.
How on earth did that man sleep.
Tony Bellew
From a personal point of view I really can't stand David Haye and I can't see how he could ever do anything to change that.
There was a time when I hated Chris Eubank, but I eventually warmed to him. I was a big Nigel Benn fan which didn't help, but I ended up realising that Eubank was good for boxing. Amusing, eccentric character and the guy could fight. He was in some seriously hard fights during his career and he backed up all his talk. He was a very tough guy with an incredible heart.
For his time period.
It had to be Cassius Clay.
Most hated singer as well.

Lots of you lot don't know your boxing history.
Jack Johnson was one of the most hated people to ever live, never mind the most hated boxer. Jack Dempsey was universally loathed in his early days. For the perception he dodged military service. Sonny Liston was right up there in terms of how much the media, establishment and general population hated him. People forget how much Cassius Clay was hated - genuinely and viscerally - before be became sainted.
People talking about Mayweather or Bellew have no comprehension of what real hate is.
As a left field suggestion ..... Idi Amin was the heavyweight champion of Uganda for a while. He would be my pick of the most hated boxer ever.
Killing Apollo Creed didn't do much for Ivan Drago's public image.
Dempsey became the one of the most loved champions during the golden age of boxing.
They all fell, the bad guys that is, before the punching machine that was Rocky!!
We still have to get that villainess, that dirty bitch that brought about the demise of the Million Dollar Baby.
Bringing things back to the realm of reality we still have to deliver justice to that juiced up Brazilian villainess Chris Cyborg for beating up Gina Carano!
Hate is a river that runs wide and deep, baby!
Ali and more so Johnson have to at very top. That wasn't a 'hate' of convenience, being some asshole or singular incident..that hate was engrained and reflection of times.
Exactly. And I'd wager George Dixon had his issues beyond what has been written.
It really is a deep question the more one thinks about it because it has a lot to do with the colour of a mans skin but also so much more. Again I cant even begin to know what it was like for Dixon being the first African descended champion. To walk down the street and have a slave name. The hate must have has its own taste.
With all of this talk about Johnson how did we overlook Tommy Burns. He was ostracized in the truest sense of the word for fighting Johnson. Authour and devote racist Jack London took out full newspaper articles. People wanted to hang poor Tommy.
Good call on Dixon. I remember some article down here about a tourney he was in and the backlash. The only thing he was 'guilty' of was dominating his white opponent and scoring a ko. The fans were livid and the venue refused 'mixed' fights after. No wonder it was Dixons only fight in the deep south before and after.
I'm going to list my most hated. They are as follows:
1. James Butler
2. Antonio Margarito
3. Panama Lewis/Luis Resto
4. John Ruiz
5. Norman Stone (not a boxer, but he deserves to be on any most hated list)
6. Charlie Zelenoff (I know he shouldn't be on the list and has legitimate mental issues, but he is such a dipshit)
7. Andrew Golota
8. Ricardo Williams
9. Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr.
10. Adrian Broner
Tyson Fury
Carl Froch
Two guys that split opinion
But what I have found is that if people dislike these 2, they don't just dislike them a little, the full blown despise them.
I hate em both, really hope Froch gets his tougne cut out so I do not have to see him on sky.
1) Who was the most hated fighter ever ?
Jack Johnson. Cassius Clay
2) Who should be the most hated fighter ever ?
Luis Resto. Margarito. James Butler
Has to be Resto for me and I'm not surprised that he's a guy from the islands (PR, Domincan Rep, etc) back then they taught their fighters to fight dirty.
I know this because my dad's friend was an assistant trainer to 2 world champions. One is Jese Benavidez of Corpus Christi, Texas. My dad's friend told me stories of some island fighters and it was really crazy. Ever wonder why Julio Cesar Chavez wore the red thing around his head ? Because Edwin Rosario tried to do voodoo/black magic shit on him. He was informed by another person that did the same stuff, and wore the red thing because that is supposedly blessed or reversed cursed.
I know it sounds dumb, but witch doctor s.hit is almost like another religion in Mexico and The Islands. Also if you look at Edwin Rosarios face when Chavez came into the ring, he has a bit of a slight shocked look. My dads friend told me that some of the Island trainers would deliberately teach their fighters dirty tricks. Like Trinidad hit low EVERY TIME he was hurt.
I saw the Resto documentary. I wish he would shut up because it's karma that he's now a broke bum and he has the nerve to bitch about Margacheato which is like a criminal who's doing 20 years in jail crying to someone that another criminal only doing 3 years for close to the same crime.
Besides Margacheato is a Neanderthal. He's too stupid to know when his trainer is tampering with his hand-wraps. Also at least Resto admits he’s done wrong and should be banned for life. While you have another (Margarito) who still claims he didn’t even know those plaster pads were even there.
Wow!
It's not easy to win one of these, because the competition is fierce.
But you DID IT!
Congratulations!
So..... without further ado................

I can understand Resto/Panama Lewis & James Butler but why Margarito.
There never has been one iota of proof he ever did anything wrong. The whole shit storm was started by a Blatant lie from that POS Richardson who claimed PLASTER BLOCKS fell out of the wraps The CSAC ,on his word, banned Margarito After extensive testing all that was there was a used gauze pad which was damp & had a brown stain on it. Where were the PLASTER BLOCKS ?? Did they disappear?? The pads were deemed HARMLESS by an independent lab. The only CRIME committed was Javier Capetillo accidently put a used pad into the wrap instead of a new one. Which he readily admitted At the very most a mere technical offence. To say it was an attempt to load the gloves is ludicrous
I know Margarito 's wraps for Cotto 1 were 100% legal I saw them wrapped. Margarito Kicked Cotto's ass LEGITIMATEL!!!!!!!!!!!
