It's always amazing how much sportsmen let themselves go when they retire, when he was younger Naz looked like someone who would struggle to put that much timber on.
You see it often with footballers, 10 or 15 years of living a life of 100% dedication must take its toll mentally in the respect that they just give up training completely, gorge on all the shite they can find and can't see what they are doing to themselves.
I can understand putting on a fair bit of weight but there must be a point when he says "fuck me this isn't healthy"
Having said all that he'll probably go on a massive crash course diet and release a fitness dvd in time for next Christmas courtesy of the daily mail
I think the former sportsman are just relieved to not to have to get up and train. Then there's this in between stage where they no longer have to train but still have the fame recognition to get booty from groupies and have money for their vices. Coming to grips with the fact that the lights are dimming on their career they start binge-ing only don't have the metabolism (sans training) to balance it out. they wake up one day with 3 chins and a call from their agent saying "hey, hall of fame induction! you're in" and then try to work off years of letting themselves go in 2 months. Can't really pull it off and you see them up at the podium sweating like a wh0r3 in church and enduring the roast from other old timers who stayed trim by doing stuff working the public relations circuit and cashing in on their fame over the years...
Funny enough, I think we were all witness to at least the beginning of the downward spiral for naz. The reports of waning discipline coming out of the camps and his getting into fistfights in the airport (w/ eubank? i think was). Everything went to his head first and then to his stomach. That autowreck where he almost killed that guy probably super charged it all especially especially the self pity and depression that is sometimes a trigger for massive weight gains.
Well at least his ears are proportioned to his body now. There is always the upside ;D
