Re: Least intimidating heavyweight champion of all time
Least intimidating and best ....Gene Tunney probably
Least intimidating in general? John Ruiz seeing how he was THE GUY all of the light weight guys moving up to heavyweight chose to fight: RJJ, Toney, Haye
-
Re: Least intimidating heavyweight champion of all time
Maybe Valuev? He was a giant but I think everyone knew he couldn't actually fight and had no punch.

Hey I honestly don't think he looks intimidating at all he looks quite like a gentleman and he doesn't look like some while maniac like Mike Tyson or Mitch blood green. That doesn't make me a retard to say that he doesn't look that wild and intimidating or ferocious. Now you are being way too over sensitive. Plus you are a Tarheel

Yeah a stubby 50+ year old Mr. Potato Head look alike doesn't think a 6'6 245 pound boxer who has stopped 53 opponents out of 64 is intimidating?
You post this horseshit to get a rise out of people and now you whine because you got called a retard....what is it brock? Do you want to be taken seriously or do you want to try to have a laugh? One or the other, you can't have both.
As for your "Tarheel" remark...do you see that as an insult?

Yeah, but he had some power to him though 39 KO's, 48 wins....although he WAS Canadian so that takes some points off his intimidation cred.
Gene Tunney was a little nerdy and he was more of a stick and move boxer. He also was one of those guys who moved up to heavyweight.

You wanted Wlad to still be a champ when you got married.;D

Kind of except I could have waited longer if Wlad being champion was what I was worried about....I mean no real threats out there to him at the moment aside from 2 super tall guys afraid of fighting anyone with a pulse.

Have to give Damiani a nod. Sure he floated like a fat hairy Peter Pan vs Mercer but ohhhh what a sweet end on that Ray uppercut.

Nothing wrong with Damiani, he was the man!😂
Although he was exceptionally skilful, would Floyd Patterson come into this category? He wasn't that scary, and didn't Liston put the collywobles up him?

Floyd was a very nice courteous person whereas someone like Sonny Liston was menacing in general but in the ring Floyd Patterson was a dangerous fighter, that left hook he dropped on Ingmar Johansson was BRUTAL.

Damiani the human pastry who pulled a literal turning of the back and waving his hand no mas in his last fight. Yeh next to Liston Patterson seemed like a meek and mild field mouse, but he was dangerous and though he went down often he got up. At least until he couldn't for the most part. Guys like Seldon went down from strong winds and layed there counted dollars ;D

Re: Least intimidating heavyweight champion of all time
Dwight Qawi
A little cheat here as he wasn't a HW champion but fought at HW and was multi time cruiserweight champion.

Re: Least intimidating heavyweight champion of all time
What about the accountant Kevin Brock? He actually had a bit of talent though.
Joe Mesi never really but the fear of god in me either but I liked watching his fights.

Well Joe Mesi never held any heavyweight title. I was never a Joe Mesi fan per say, but he was in some good exciting bouts, it's a shame he suffered that injury when he did because he was getting ready to get a shot at the WBA title which at the time was held by either Valuev, Ruiz, or Chagaev...and to be honest Mesi would have had a good shot vs all of them.
Baby Joe had some pop in his punch, he was onesided and eventually would have been taken apart by a better boxer (you have to assume) but he was in good fights, I respect the guy, but I knew his limitations.

.
Was Kevin Brock the guy that one of the Klitschkos dropped with one shot? Almost a shy like demeanor. Didn't know he even had a belt, but if that's the guy you're referring to. He had the demeanor of an accountant, alright.

Yeah Calvin "The Boxing Banker" Brock....he was a good heavyweight, but not intimidating although he knocked Zuri Lawrence the FUDGE out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvXphsAXUWI
I mean flip the switch, those lights went OUT!
Calvin is from my home state and he was a very crafty fighter, he did well with what he had and he's doing well now having been retired for a while. He and another North Carolina native James 'Bonecrusher' Smith were both college graduates which is something special in the sport. Wladimir struggled a little with Calvin before the KO came to him, that was early on in the Wlad Manny Steward training partnership and Manny pushed Wlad to get that KO. Wlad picked up a cut and then just battered Brock with some power punches.

I always thought he was the same guy from Law and Order. Of course I had a client of mine say I looked like the Law and Order guy in a 'white sort of way' Must have been the goatee and receding hairline.
