De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
This is awesome, and 100% true. And yes, Oscar did take chances and was light years more entertaining in my opinion, even though he lost a few times. Way to go Oscar!! for telling it like it is, and taking chances in the sport!!! and good riddance to someone who held the sport back!!!!

I could not agree more with Oscar De La Hoya. Floyd Mayweather was boring boring boring. I much rather watch boom boom Mancini or Vinny Pazienza or Alexis Arguello fights then Floyd the boring boy run run run all night long run run run all night long run run run run run run all night long like a little ballerina little ballerina Floyd the little ballerina Mayweather

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
That was beautifully written and totally true. Brought a tear to my eye. Oscar should have also mentioned his domestic violence and intrevenenous he was doing which would have beeni illegal if he did not have the drug agency in his pocket.

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Nothing wrong with any fan feeling that way, but it does seem pretty tacky for Oscar to have come out with. Singling out Floyds last fights as being especially boring, but how did this guy end his career? Was anyone excited watching him vs Steve Forbes, or plodding around getting the shit kicked out of him by Manny? He jides Floyd for avoiding challenges as if he himself wasn't one at the time? Big ups Cotto-Alvarez as if Floyd didn't beat both of those guys impressively? Then expresses concern about how FLoyd will deal with retirement, when he himself has been to rehab a few times, and photographed in women's underwear with dildos up his bum:vd: You'd think that would humble someone a little bit... It's to bad Floyd probably can't write, would be very easy to one up this.
-
Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Lol. The rants of a lunatic. Not even he believes Floyd is staying put at 49 and 0. Almost seems to convey the opposite of its supposed design. What he's really doing is begging for him to comeback. Perhaps that's why he chose playboy instead of Ring. Why would the owner of such a magazine put such an op-ed out in a skin book? He knew the article would not fly in an actual boxing magazine.
You see, its insane to go on the offensive against Floyd for the reasons mentioned while trying to somehow compare Chavez's 49 and 0 fraudulent claim at the same time and btw, what part of "retiring as undefeated champion" with a 49 and 0 does Oscar not understand? Not only did his idol not retire at 49 and 0 but he never legitimately got there. He lost his 12th to a 6 and 12 Miguel Ruiz and had it reversed by his manager. Had he retired at 49 and 0 he would have had 3 title defenses and ended his career fighting Jeff Bumpus. Had he retied at 50 and 0 to beat Marciano he would have finished on the 1 and 15 Robert Lindo. Chavez would not even had made ink blot status. Oscar needs to figure out whether he loves the guy or hates him.

I'm glad someone else said this, as it would've sounded biased coming from me. I recognize what Oscar did for the sport, but I've never been a big fan. Seems like he can't keep out of his own way now that he's retired.

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
It is still funny.
Oscar took on Tito, Sweat Pea and Ike all better than anything Floyd fought at the weight.
-
Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
I was never a De La Hoya fan but that letter made me laugh because it had truth to it. I do believe that Floyd's circus did not take down its tent yet. By the way does Floyd have someone to read it to him?

He is but it is still funny. Floyd should respond, there is enough material for him to get back at Oscar.

Oscar didn't write that. If you've ever heard him speak, you know he isn't that clever or articulate or eloquent.
To a Floyd hater Oscar looks like a hero here, but to anyone who knows Oscar's post fight career history he comes across as pathetic, attention seeking, drama queen.
Also... Playboy?!? Oscar you're such a macho stud. A real lady killer huh?

Tbh I hope that Mayweather doesn't say a word. Everybody wants a response , and I hope Floyd says "you know what? Fuck 'em, I don't have to stoop down to that Wanker's level."
What baffles me is if Floyd is such a boring hateful cunt, then why is everybody still talking about him, and why are people still calling him out ?
People still want to make money off his back when they should be concentrating on themselves.

I have no idea how intelligent or educated Floyd is, but if earning power is an indicator it's obvious he's smarter than Oscar.
Maybe he is still pissed at Floyd, Big Al, and Richard Schaefer for trying to take GB away from him when he was in rehab. :o Shiiit dude, it's just business, get over it! I have to say, if they did try to take his company. ;D

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
DLH might well be a slimy, orange goofball, but he is correct in has basic premise that Floyd is not going to be missed and was plain old boring as he picked and chose his way to the end. That Manny looked shot was also a sore spot for Floyd as it has given the so called crowning of his career a kind of pointless Lewis/Tyson hue. Floyd was all about the money and history will show that, but that is why we remember warriors and not Wall Street hedge funders. SRR Floyd was not.

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Yes, Floyd is soooooo boooooring that he's probably the fighter with the most threads and posts about him on this forum.

Yes, usually threads saying "That Floyd, what a boring fighter" and "I cannot believe I bought that muck on PPV when I could have bought 42 KFC chicken pieces" or "Is Floyd the greatest cherry picker since the Luddite's rejected the cherry picking machine?". Lots and lots of Floyd threads.

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
If Floyd was a baseball player, he would have be an all-time great fielder with very few errors......along with a whopping .204 Batting Avg, most of his hits consisting of infield singles and bunts...

If he was an NFL QB, he'd definitely be one of those "dink and dunk" types who throw 3-yard passes and screens up and down the field. No deep passes whatsoever.

Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Entertaining letter. Good replies from Iaminut & master for and against.
Floyd IMO had boring and exciting fights. 53%ko ratio isn't bad. Undefeated Corrales, Hatton, Canelo.
On the other hand, staying away from Baldomir for 12 rounds bad fight with no action and Guerrero to Berto just horrible choices.
I wonder if DLH will write a similar letter when Klitschko retires.
-
Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Good write up with a sharp stick in the eye, agree with the boring aspect save for maybe five fights. As much as I can't stand the twat if people are dumb enough to pay big money and you're content and able to shut out a few no hopers than who wouldn't ??? That said his return with Marquez was a total sham and he and Manny get blame for letting a peak match rot on the vine until they pieced it together and got over on us. It's hard not to laugh when you rag on a guy who beat you and totally schooled your number one pupil as well as Oscar forgetting he was wearing a ski mask and at the scene of a absolute robbery vs Sturm. Just glad he finally admits he lost to Tito because he ran. I am glad Mayweather retired though, also that the sport is better without him and his brand. I hope he didn't let the door hit him on the ass.

I largely agree on the Floyd stuff regarding comp but the thing is, Floyd seems to be judged on a level that other greats never really had to deal with and lets face it my friend, about 75 % of boxing fans would rather see a punch up then a boxing match. The pendulum done swung to far the other way imo because now many people don't even care if either combatant can box. So Floyd gets judged by a multi edged sword. It begs the question, how is it such a boring runner can draw such numbers and why has he been this(insert 2 letter one number combination) leader for the last decade? How come these other guys cant close the gap? What makes him draw while two other safety first fighters in Ward and Rigo cant draw flies to a shit parade? Oscar either lost every big fight he was in or got a gift. I have not watched the fight in a year or so but I think I had Molina beating him. I had Sweet Pea winning and Sturm should have asked to be kissed first.
Another thing that seems to dog Floyd and for some reason dog no other. This concept that he either ducked people or refused to take risks. Not only are those redundant charges but for the most part pretty baseless. Perhaps he could have fought Frietas or Forbes way back when but there are some of those guys for everybody and and many of them never had 4 or 5 guys holding a belt.
There is really nobody that anyone can name that he ducked. Vivian Harris? Margarito? Williams?
Who names their son Vivian;D
Do people really believe that Margarito would have laid a glove on him or even been allowed to crowd and octopus him? And Viv would have been a human pin cushion. Williams could not figure out which weight he was fighting in while Floyd was already the King of the sport. Floyd was not going to fight Williams anymore then he would fight Spence Jr. now. Shane and him could have easily worked things out in that 130/35 area but both were seen by their handlers as the heir to Roy Jones and Shane at one point got a toothache.
In the end I do think he could have reached a little and perhaps unified a division or two and Jordon should have passed the ball more but damn are those two good.
-
Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
Everything you say is true but I could easily pick holes in his fights. The bottom line is his record is not one you could say makes him TBE. It is embarrassingly bad when you compare it to the real TAG.

Say what you want about Oscar cross dressing, that is his personal choice BUT Oscar was never caught red handed having an illegal massive saline drip administered in his own home not a medical clinic. Then to be backed u by his hometown State Commission & drug testing agency saying "Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong" ROFLMAO
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know why he was cheatingdo we? That amount of saline covers a multitude of sins
Every word Oscar said was 100% true & even the Mayweather addicts know it too Goodbye Sayonara Auf Weidesein GET LOST & DONT COME BACK !!!

Some on this forum really like to stick it to Floyd lol but you have to remember he's basically an old man well past his prime, when he was in his prime his fights were very exciting mostly ending by ko. Oscar is one of the most overrated fighters on all time how many genuine world class fighters did he beat while they were in there prime ?

It also depends on who you did not fight or actively avoided. Floyd résumé is not all that great to be considered TBE. It is far from it.

TBE Is something invented by Floyd and most people don't necessarily believe that. But I don't think it can be denied that he is TBOHG ( the best of his generation) This avoided stuff is nonsense though. IMHO he gets judged pretty harshly in comparison to greats of the past. Floyd did make an interesting point although people hate him for it and he probably doesn't help himself.
Aged 34, Ali lost to a guy in his 7th pro fight. Floyd is aged 38, if that had happened to him, he would have been ridiculed forever and a day.
Factor in Ali's "bum of the month" European tour and it makes you think. I'm no Ali hater, I love the guy, but facts are facts.
Yet Floyd is expected to beat top p4p ers in every fight. I wasn't happy with the Berto fight, but I genuinely think he was literally just finishing off his contract, he's had a gutful.

Floyd has a perfect record 49-0.
Has been a champ for 17 years.
Moved up in weight taking on bigger champions.
Made the most money.
Made and broke records for PPV.
Managed himself after buying out his contract.
Has been hit flush only a handful of times.
Who in boxing can match those stats?
-
Re: De La Hoya's letter to Mayweather = Priceless!!! and true....
I always make a point of staying up and watching Floyds fights, I'm not one of these who think his shit don't stink but good god I hope he stays retired and someday maybe people will stop talking about him and will focus on the new talent that is coming through.
This forum will go into absolute meltdown if he comes out of retirement.

You missed a few more.....
Floyd had the NSAC, USADA & Vegas boxing backing him to ensure he kept his bogus 0
Floyd was also caught red handed CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!! Receiving 750 ml of ILLEGAL saline . We all know what transgressions 750 ml would cover up don't we..
The fact the NSAC & USADA issued a statement saying " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong" ROFL This shows they were up to their asses in the cheating themselves I'd say Don't you agree???

I forgot to mention he's a pioneer in anti-doping.
He almost single handedly forced PED testing to be the norm all clean and hard working fighters now voluntarily submit to by demanding it before his fights.
A true leader in the sport!!
