Saturday NBC: Spence Jr vs Barrera~Charlo vs Campfort

This kicks off at 2pm tomorrow afternoon with two of the more promising young guns going today headlining. Errol Spence Jr. 18-0 takes on Alejandro Barrera 28-2 welters. I'm more sold on Spence than many of the hype jobs over the last couple of years, kid looks the full package save for his head staying a bit tall when he comes in and exciting to watch in a stacked welter division.

Jermall Charlo 22-0 makes his initial defense of his new 154 trinket against Wilky 'Silky' Campfort 21-1 in main event. Its Charlos statement to make against a guy not even ranked top ten until this was signed but with other players making moves at 154, I get wanting to get his foot in the door.

Erickson Lubin and John Molina jr. in separate bouts on undercard. Lubin most likely makes the air time permitting.

Looking forward to seeing how Spence gets on. He does look the real deal up to now. I hope he carries on improving at the pace he has so far.

Looks like much hyped Erickson Lubin first up vs Alexis Camacho jr middles. Camacho coming in off a year and half layoff :-X

As the saying goes...wouldn't go to the fridge during this one. Both Charlo and Spence jr had to lose a few lbs and make weight on second attempt!

Camacho looks absolutely frozen and cumbersome.

Alexis Camacho rocked from that straight left. ...as I type...all over 2nd round.
He never recovered from that left and successive shots after on.

Camacho never in this at all, dropped in 1st and battered to end round. Lubin very sharp with counter hooks/straight left and drops him in a heap in 2nd round! Picture perfect and done. Time to step up comp.

That was a brutal shot, Camacho went over like he was doing stunts in a movie! Lubin sounds good, taking his time now.

Bilal Mahasin fighting 11-0 Eddie Ramirez jr welters. Mahasin has an 11 year 'break' in career. Wow

Crazy story with Mahasin. Locked up 11 yrs after fighting under alias and busted when spotted on espn card. Amir Mansour has nothing on this kid ;D

He is clocking Ramirez in 2nd with sweep hooks and pressure!

I like Ramirez style. Body to head.. Landed some of everything l everything in round 2

Quality 3rd for Ramirez, hands like pistons and smart feet. Turned Mahasin into a crude slugger there

Mahasin lands shots because you don't know where its going. Nice bodywork from Ramirez.

Mahasin starts 5th well off double jabs but looks labored near end. He's not a caveman he just cannot sustain..well now he comes out bombing in 6th :-X. Dude has an identity crisis.

Old man came out on fire for the fifth round. Not sure if Ramirez came back strong enough to win that round.

Agreed, huffing and puffing near rounds end. Does well to bull Ramirez in 7th tough and keep round close. Ramirez very sharp on inside. Good contrast in styles

What a shame mahasin lost 11 years. He really pushed the 23 year old.
I say 4-3 one even, but a draw is legit as well.

Decent scrap. Have Ramirez 5-3. I hope B.J Flores never becomes a judge btw.

I agree with the two judges, not the one that saw it a near shutout.

Spence HAS to develop head movement if he wants to come so frontal, got caught with a few dumb uppercuts in 1st.

Derrick James thinks that makes you punch harder; he trains Spence.

He's been in full control but if splitting hairs..he is almost too committed. Gives up a lot of real estate boring in and left with no backdoor. He punch is real though, shorts circuits guys badly!

Some good boxing matches on a Saturday afternoon.
Spence kinda.... Whooped ass. Tough for the main event to surpass two dominant stoppages.

Spence is a good fighter.
