Vitali was more than holding his own in that fight and who knows how that would have played out if Vitali had not got cut and Lewis did not fight again after that fight. Joe Louis would have been too small and would have been bounced round the ring.
Tyson ? Tyson never won a fight were he had to fight. He never won a fight were he had to bite down. He never won a nip and tuck dog fight. Every time a figher stood up to Tyson and hit back hard and went toe to toe with him, he lost. Tyson was a great on top fighter. The question is whether Wlad would be there after five rounds ? Maybe. Maybe Tyson would steam rolled him.

People always look back, at past heavy weights as if they were better.

The Bowe that fought Golata already had brain damage. Lewis would ko him late. Tyson would have had him in 5, the same he did to Frank Bruno.
The Bowe that won the title and beat Holyfield would have ko'd Wlad in about 7 or 8.

Bowe was talented but not a great heavyweight champion. Having one great fight to win the title does not make you a great heavyweight champion.
Lennox and Tyson were brilliant champions and dominated like Wlad. Consistency and logevity is an integral part of being considered a great champion. Wlad was that even if he was not a good fighter to watch.

While I totally know what you mean about Tyson choking in big fights, etc. I still think those guys blow Wlad away, even Golota would blow him out, Golota was so versatile, Wlad is so 1-dimensional---look how Wlad was totally confuised after 4 rounds, when he couldnt get his jab working or land the right at all/find the distance, he had no Plan B. Anyway I don’t see many in history standing in with Tyson in his prime regardless of how short that may have been. I also believe that Lennox is the best heavyweight in history including Ali and he would have dominated any era. Bowe had some skills but he was also a head case. I think Wlad could conceivable beat him and Haye could not get to Wlad so as boring as it might be, I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion that Tyson gets to him. That’s a long way to go and look what Smith and Tucker did. I'm glad the Klit era is most likely over but nobody cracked the puzzle for over a decade. Sure it wasn’t pretty but it was effective.

Not really sure what Bowe could out to Wlad thinking on it. He's not out jabbing him, sizing or back footing him. As good as Bowe could churn on the inside he layed in heavy and came underneath, Wlad would make an effective bigger mess of it and Bowe was not easy to miss at all.

Bowe wins a dog fight though, Bowe always bit down hard like a pit bull and found a way to win. Had a decent chin, too. Better than Wlad's by a mile. I think Wlad's does some damage and floors Bowe early, round 3 or so, but Bowe dogs him out over the middle rounds and pounds his ass down by Rd. 8

Versus the same age opponents.
Riddick Bowe
An even bout for 6-Rounds, before Wlad starts to wear down 'Doggie' Bowe.
Look for Wlad to pump in steady punches during Round 7 without much of a return from Bowe, other than
an occasional weak 'one-two'.
During Round 8, Wlad beats Bowe's face silly with solid left-jabs, swelling up Bowe's upper-cheeks badly.
In Round 9, it is all Wlad, as he beats a whipped 'Doggie', keeping him pinned on the Ropes and covering
up for the first {2:10} of the Round.
Then Wlad puts the 'Doggie' down near the end of Round 9 with a volley to the head. But, Bowe will make it
up at the '7-Count'.
'Doggie' is now sporting a badly swollen face and bloody-mouth. He looks like he wants to quit as he lays
on the Ropes. Bowe is covering up and on the complete defensive, as he survives the last 20-Seconds of
Round 9.
In Round 10, Bowe comes out and tries to fight back. But after 40-Seconds, he 'dogs' out. Wlad then sends
Bowe reeling to the Ropes where he delivers a one-sided battering on Bowe's swollen and lumped up face.
Wlad then tags a 'defenseless' Bowe with a 7-Punch assault to the head.
Referee - Bill Paxtom calls the bout over at the {1:08 Mark} of Round 10.

Because Wlad actually fought power punchers unlike Bowe.....had Bowe fought a Corrie Sanders he probably would have had troubles, maybe he could have handled it, but there's nothing in his boxing record to say "Yes, without a doubt, Riddick Bowe could take those punches".....same with Lamon Brewster.
But that's cool, I love the name calling, it makes you look more pathetic.....which I didn't think was possible

you know Im big into food Lyle, chicken Kiev is actually quite good, and I LOVE anchovies ;)
Bowe fought Holyfield 3 times, he's not a power puncher but he smoked a few in his time sometimes with single shots (Rodriguez, Douglas, etc...) He hit hard enough to make Bowe slur his words now. Bowe had a good chin. Kept getting up after getting smashed by Golota too.

Holyfield, not a massive power puncher, more of a wear you down with workrate kind of guy.
Golota, also not a massive power puncher....but his style you could say was kind of similar to Wlad's only Wlad was lightyears better than Golota in all kinds of attributes it is safe to say: discipline, technique, power, hand speed, foot work, defense....there's a reason Golota never got the belts.
Bowe fought Lewis in the amateurs and we saw how that worked out.

Bowe could always get Lewis on one of his lazy days..........I mean if Oliver and Hasim could get him then Bowe could too on the right night. But Lewis smokes Bowe 3 out of 4 times. Wlad smokes Golota 2 out of 3 times.
I smoke ganja 4 out of 4 times.
