Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Well they are both quoted as saying this is gonna happen in a possible title eliminator

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Joshua had better have a stand bye opponent for when Haye doesn't turn up.

Haye v AJ would be massive a a quick way for David to get a title shot if he won.

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
I kinda wanna see Haye gets splatted. Would be great if a Brit done him.

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Since when did David Haye deserve a title eliminator bout? Boxing really is a suckers sport.

Celebrity comes first. Another aspect that separates this era from others. Shouldn't David Haye actually have to do something?

He never has at Heavyweight, why start now? He won a fake title from a fake champion who had already lost the title multiple times and never won it back. That Haye is a draw and "worthy" of a title eliminator just shows that champions aren't really champions anymore. They are just the guys with fanbases that are maneuvered well. Off the top of my head I can think of 5 divisions where the best fighter and most proven fighter are not the champion. Crazy that sport seems as scripted as reality television these days.

Indeed and that's why I like Fury's thoughts of tossing the tin.
Sort of related but Ken Porter has now offered to take money out of his own pocket for Thurman to come out of hiding and fight his kid. I've seen reports that one hit wonder Thurman wants 10 million to fight Spence.
-
Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
It's not like Joshua has done anything that makes Haye unworthy of a chance to fight him, is it? Look who the champions are now at HW, I don't care who deserves anything as opposed to seeing some interesting fights get made. Whether Haye would even show up is the question, but assuming he were to it's a good crossroads fight surely.
-
Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Haye has not fought in 4 years and in the real world is not relevant. He needs to do something other then be a celebrity. What if De Mori knocks him out? He's had opportunities to cash in and work his way back but has folded and seems more secure in his celebrity and pseudo boxing status,
Joshua has been plugging away building his brand to the point of taking over the heavyweight planet. Why would they risk millions of dollars in future revenue to match the guy against a meaningless fight with Haye? Why isn't Haye calling out Fury?
After watching last nights affair, if Haye has anything left he would obliterate Joshua, No movement not even his head and unable to move above the waist. Both feet nailed on the floor and planted feet for the entire contest and coming to a complete stop to throw a punch. Joshua to his credit admitted he has a ton of work to do and there is no rush.

Yes Joshua said it himself he has a lot of work to do. He said when he becomes champion he wants to stay as champion.

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
AJ has said that he wants Del Boy in his next fight and he isn't ready for Haye or Fury yet.
He speaks sense, he knows that he still has a hell of a lot of work to do its just a question of weather his managers/promotors want to give him the time.
Going back to the Whyte fight last night did anyone else pick up on the question when they asked him if he had put the bad blood with whyte behind him and he replied something like 'No, not at all, not a chance' it's unusual to hear that after a fight, just look at Chisora and Haye after their fight, they left all the bad feelings in the ring.

I think AJ and Whyte will face one another again and will never be on each others Christmas card list.
-
Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
I think another fight against Whyte would be of more benefit than Chisora for him, I still think its difficult to guage his current level after that win purely because I don't know how good Whyte is, I've only seen him on his 2 recent Sky fights.
Some people here seem to be more aware of Whyte than I am, did people know about him before his ban or did they just look him up when Sky started hyping the grudge match?
Kind of going off topic I know

Agree completely. Chisora is actually a step back. I think he fights Whyte differently a second time and shows a different dimension and Whytes earned another decent payday.. I think Anthony let some of the shit talk get to him and made it a little tougher for himself then he should/could have.

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
There's not gonna be a rematch. That was just AJ giving it to Whyte afterwards, rubbing it in that he ironed him. You don't get a rematch when the "hero" leaves you flattened unconcious

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
I dont really see a problem with Haye v AJ as a title eliminator. Haye will have fought and beaten De Mori first who is ranked 10 or so with one of the organisations and AJ is 3 in 2 of them. While I appreciate most people dont like Haye (me included) Id prefer to see him fight Mori and AJ then some of the other jokes in the division. Martin or Glaskov will be champ soon. Id say Haye is better then both and wouldnt give either a chance against Wlad or Fury. I dont see what Martin has done to deserve a title shot and even Glaskov doesnt really deserve a number one ranking. Deontay Wilder is another one who just worked the system to get a shot. He really didnt beat an decent fighter until he won his title.
The best fighters in the division imo are Fury, Wilder, AJ, Povetkin, Ortiz, Pulev, Jennings and Wlad and then you have guys like Haye, Hughie Fury, Glaskov, Teper, Chagaev etc. All I want is to get these guys fighting each other regularly rather then pissing about against puddings and shot opponents. If Haye and AJ fight it should be a decent fight and the winner against Fury should be decent too. In fact fights between all the above fighters should be good fights apart from maybe a few involving Wlad.

You could say the same about Fury couldn't you? Let's be fair and consistent here. The British fighters get more shots at titles than any other nationality. I mean, Chisora got a shot ffs! And Paul Smith even got a rematch because "although he lost, he didn't lose as badly as the Judges said he did!"
Tyson Fury was interviewed exactly about this by Kugan Cassius before he fought Wlad. He said there are "British World Champions", who have titles but aren't no.1 in their division (some nowhere near it.) and then there are "World Champions", who are no.1. I think he might've even said the last "World Champion" Britain had was Hatton or Calzaghe. Tbh, I agree with him 100%.
-
Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Yea definitely but have to credit him for targeting the true champ. Wilders aim was pretty clear (well at least his promo team) avoid Wlad at all costs :D
-
Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
I don't think they'll be putting Joshua in with Haye anytime soon. Whyte again or Chisora next.

Haye has speed, fast hands and power. AJ needs to tidy up in defence, more head movement and use his height and reach far more. Once he has perfected that he will be unstoppable.

True but this is where you learn these things in the hard fights.

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Some people just have faults that can't be corrected. Joshua recovered from getting wobbled in the second but he was worryingly Frank Bruno for a while. If somebody his own size or Wilder size can clock him they're going to have an opportunity to put him away.

Bruno was rubber legged, AJ was mildly hurt so I do not think he has a suspect chin at all.

Hang on a minute, I don't want to sound like @erics44, but why do people on here talk about Bruno like he was a pile of shit?
He went in with loads of World Champs, had a great Career , rocked Tyson when he was at his peak, gave Lewis the fight of his life, was a World Champion.
If any of this current crop surpass his achievements, they'll have had a very good career. I'm not saying that can't happen, but come on, show a bit of respect.😄

Agreed. Bruno did progress , coming back better from losses right up till Lewis fight in which he acquitted himself well, taking a risk a little too early on Lewis.

Bruno was stopped by Bonecrushe, Witherspoon and rocked by Jumbo.
A peak Tyson was going through a divorce, fighting in the street and unconditioned but Frank still fails to win. Bruno wins the title at his 4th attempt clinging on for dear life.Bruno then gets blown way by a shell of a Tyson after prison in his first defence. Frank was more fragile that Amir Khan.

He gassed in the last round against Bonecrusher (who became a World Champion btw) after winning the first 9 rounds. Good learning fight for him.
He got stopped by Witherspoon , who was World Champion.
In the fight immediately before Bruno, Tyson had just knocked out Michael Spinks in the 1st round when everyone was saying that was going to be his biggest test to date. Immediately after he beat Bruno , he beats Carl "the truth" Williams , who was One of the best around at the time, again 1 st round KO.
Yes, he got rocked by Jumbo Cummings, but KO'd him in the end. So AJ can get rocked by Whyte and win, and Fury can get floored by a CW And some Serbian and win, and that's OK?
So he won the World Title at the 4th attempt, so what? Martyn Murray never.
I'm not saying Bruno was a World beater, and I'm not saying he didn't have flaws, but he was a hard hitting brave guy, who always came in the ring in shape.
Today's batch have got the potential to surpass him , but they haven't done so yet, so let's not be so disparaging about him.
What if Fury and AJ lost their next fights? And are Haye's achievements at HW any better than Bruno? Is Haye's victory over Valuev better than Bruno's v McCall? And are Bruno's efforts v Lewis and Tyson 1 worse than Haye's effort v Wlad? Just saying.😄

Re: Joshua and Haye both agree that they will fight each other!
Haye always gets a free pass in public opinion and everyone here knows it.
He seems to have friends in high places in order to secure shortcuts to the top.
If they do fight, I hope Joshua knocks him into the 3rd row.

So one fight makes a whole career? With your smiley emoji, I hope that tells me you're kidding around and you're not serious?
While it was a good victory, he's done LITERALLY nothing else yet. Otherwise by your line of thinking , Buster Douglas is one of the ATG's and definitely one of the top 3 HW's of the last 30 years.
