Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
British world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been told by the sport's authorities not to make "controversial non-boxing comments".
He was warned over his conduct by the British Boxing Board of Control after a meeting on Tuesday.
Fury, 27, apologised after making comments about women and gay people.
Almost 140,000 people signed a petition calling for Fury to be removed from the BBC Sports Personality of the Year shortlist before December's event.
The Manchester fighter, who outpointed Wladimir Klitschko to become heavyweight champion in November, caused controversy over derogatory remarks he made about women, and for criticising homosexuality and abortion.
A BBBC statement said Fury's comments had "caused offence" but that he had not broken the law by "exercising his right to freedom of expression" and it could not "interfere with his basic human rights".
It added: "The stewards of the board have made it clear to him [Fury] that as world heavyweight champion, arguably the holder of the most prestigious title in sport, there are heavy responsibilities upon him to avoid making controversial, non-boxing comments.
"He has assured the stewards that he understands the responsibilities upon him and has expressed regret that he has caused offence to others, which was never his intention."
A rematch between Klitschko, 39, and Fury will take place this summer.

Thank you for the post mate.
I agree that he does have a role in the public eye and should try to be a role model for those who watch him.
Klitschko at least had a dignity about being champion.
(I would have given you + rep but there is an annoying filter on doing it)

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
Who the fuck do they think they are?
What had he actually done wrong?
Can someone bullet point what he has said exactly that warrants the boxing commision to feel they need to talk to him.
They are just being swept along with the media trying to look good and that they are doing something about it but about what for fucks sakes!?
Yes he spoke about gays etc but because he was asked about them. He made no derogatory comments about them at all. The BBBOC are a joke and Tyson doesnt even need them to continue his career.

Just about right, calm down Ross

And thats just about all anyone will be able to respond to me because they will not be able to find these offensive things he has said.
Its insane how bitter people are now he has succeeded.

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
@ross I agree his comments weren't anywhere near as bad as made out and the petition and the greg Rutherford thing was ridiculous but you just cant do it

Answer a question?
Show me what caused such outrage because I rollow most of what Tyson Fury says and does and quoting the bible is not saying he hates gays. Hes even publicly stated he has gay friends and a photo of him kissing a gay man who told him he hated him. The man in question went in the media and said hes changed his mind about Tyson now. Its only those looking for publicity latching on to the hate Tyson gets because of his fuck it attitude. It all boils down to jealousy and bitterness. Britain cant get behind a winner.

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
Alot of the "Tyson is homophobic" shit that has been published has been fueled by this little twat!
Kellie Maloney: My anti-gay comments as a UKIP politician were wrong PinkNews
"She" made actual homophobic comments and never got the media attacking Frank Maloney. Just money oriented. Went straight in big brother for the money. Did all the interviews about Tyson for the money. When asked what sexuality she is now the last line tells you everything you need to know about the person. I mean its not like she is a bitter jealous little twat because the dud she tried peddling as a world class boxer let her down big time and a shed load of wasted investment who Tyson used to rip! Thats not an unbiased view.
I also wonder what the BBBOC said, warned or fined him/her?

One thing I will say is that Greg Rutherford fella is a fucking prick! He's just getting some publicity off the back of someone else.
If you're at a do with over 1000 people there, why do you have to say "if he's there , I ain't going." They weren't likely to be chatting to each other anyway.
If he felt bad about Fury's comments, and he did get introduced, if he was any sort of bloke , he could've politely given his view.
But it suited him better to give it the big 'un!

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
He does need the board unless he wants to become the unlicensed boxing champ of fairgrounds and cow sheds.

There would be no formalised sport of boxing without fairgrounds, and it's barns not cow sheds :p ;D
-
Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
I thought "barn" was American? Cow shed sounds more colourful :D

I could respond to you mate. I can argue with my shadow, but I am not sure I can be bothered here. I think you are over egging the bitterness thing. Threatening to get your gang to stomp on somebodies head for disagreeing with you is not very becoming for the Heavyweight Champion of the world, but then neither is telling everybody that you are a fighting man down to your bones, and then out boxing a china chinned champ, no bigger than you, rather than flattening him, or at least putting him on his backside.
I am not saying his tactics were wrong, it turned out that if all you wanted to do was guarantee winning the fight, they were spot on, but it just proves a lot of what he says is an act and yet you treat everything he or his team says as gospel.

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
Haye and Chisora fought just fine without the British boxing board of idiots.
What did they say to Frank Maloney when he said all this?
BBC NEWS | Politics | UKIP candidate sparks gay anger

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
Warren put a one off fight between Haye-Chisora on under another commission because they were suspended by the Board. It was basically an unlicensed fight, he went over their heads.
If Fury wants to fight here he needs a license.

Tyson doesnt need to fight here.
All his biggest fights available can be done away. Klitschko in Germany (again) Wilder and Martin in America.
Greenbeanz shut up nit picking! Tyson can say what he wants hes the best in the world;D
He did it exactly how I said he would!

I mean , you've even ditched your other hero Chwistopher so that you can focus fully on Tyson. I haven't seen you post about him for ages.
I just hope that if you ever meet Tyson , that its a nice experience, because otherwise your life will cave in a bit like that Eminem/Dido song "Stan"!

Eubank doesnt have a fight scheduled. Or rather a date and its only a british level fighter hes facing, nothing to get excited about.
You dedicate an unhealthy amount of time addressing me Personally. I think you will find thats more disturbing than someone whos boxed actually talking about a boxer on a boxing forum;D

when your heavyweight champion of the world you cant publicly say anything at all about queers or women belonging in the kitchen
I'm always calling my mates gay and saying less than complimentary things about women, but if I was in the public eye I wouldn't say it in the public eye

What was said to Mike Tyson by the British board for threatening to eat Lewis's children after the Saverese fight in Glasgow?

Re: Tyson Fury told to avoid controversial non-boxing comments
Who is the moral savant that decided boxers are role models w/o asking them. Of all the sports my lord.
Criminals, racketeers, juicers, wife beaters, jailbirds, systemic corruption, cooked books. Sure the comments he made on gays etc was off the wall but so what? This political correct, coddled planet is ridiculous. FFS they take his belts the moment he wins them, will now attempt to freeze the guy out and now the moral hallway monitors follow him around. Where were they when the other Tyson was around along with countless other boxers. What next following the guy to the pub when he throws down a few pints.

Yeah fensters right it was to do with the gobbing off as well.
My point is though its absolutely insane how much Tyson Fury gets hounded and for not much!
The worst genuine thing hes said is that his wifes place is in the kitchen and on her back!
Fuck me the BBC used to broadcast comedies people still laugh at to this day with worse! Alf Garnet for a start!
Tyson Fury is a sportsman not a statesman or politician. He is paid to fight. Its credit to his fame that the media constantly want quotes from him. So much so they will try to keep up jogging with him through muddy fields for a quote!

unfortunately you talk so much shit, I feel I have to point it out. trust me , it doesn't please me to have to do so.
"someone whos boxed actually talking about a boxer on a boxing forum!" playing that feeble card again, I see. shall we translate that to :
"Someone who jacked in Boxing cos he couldn't hack it , wanted to ref, but they didn't want him to ref cos he was clueless, so they entertained him by making him a judge, and when he made a complete fuck up of that, and had people questioning his decisions, he shit himself and fucked off!" is that the someone we're talking about here?
btw , cos Eubank is only fighting at British Level , you're not interested in him eh? only the Glory boys? what a fucking clown.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ha, Boxing isn't the only physical sport there is pal. And it's not the only sport where you need "Bottle."
But the point remains that you use the fact that you've "stepped between the ropes" to equate to the fact that you know more about boxing, which quite frankly is ludicrous!
The fact remains that if you're a retard, you're a retard, regardless of whether you've boxed or not.
Now you keep saying about "what people think reading this" , tbh , I couldn't give a fuck about That, but you obviously do because you keep mentioning it. Bearing that in mind, common sense (which I know you're short on) would tell you that "people think" that you're a wanker, that's why more argue with you than with me.
Try to have a little think about that , and maybe it will sink in a bit. Sweet dreams.

Why do you try and make every thread I post in a personal argument between me and you? Are you mental?
The fact iv stepped between the ropes does mean I know more about boxing than you. You dont know what the nerves feel like in the lead up to a bout where your health and pride are at stake. You dont know how to put in to practice any defensive skills, you havent even felt the pressure of someone trying to punch your head in. I could go on. Stop being such a silly little girl and stop hounding me weirdo.

Ross, you're a wanker and you talk shite. All that you've said above doesn't JUST happen in a boxing ring. You don't realise how pathetic you sound. Now fuck off and have your evening wank over your Tyson Fury poster.
