just like hollywood, everyone has ran out of ideas so they just keep rebooting old films
Stupid and silly. The old man needs to just stay behind his son and stay out of the limelight.
2005 was declared bankrupt not paying £1.3 miilion to tax man.
Junior is faster and fitter than his dad but not a harder puncher and probably not as good chin.
If they can be cleared to fight and they need money/people will watch it, whatever. It has nothing to do with the sport of boxing and proves nothing obviously. They definitely did leave things unfinished though, haven't watched it in ages but I feel like Benn outfought him and won the rematch.
I would quite like to see them fight again there obviously old and fucked and there both around the same age, not as if there wanting to fight young fighters. It's just a one off, bring it on I say
Yeah, give em big gloves. Shorten the rounds. Whatever, let them.
Both are probably fitter than some current journeymen and would both pass medicals unless there are some underlying brain injuries that may show up in a scan.
They can always go the Danny Williams route and get Latvian licences:rolleyes:
Its funny the concern for both when we have a currently active Bernard Hopkins whos older than Eubank looking to fight Golovkin!!
At least Benn and Eubank are on the same page. Long time out, similar age and both kept in shape.
We have a welterweight fighting the guy who beat the "lineal" middleweight champ who was not a middleweight and now talks about going back to welterweight. These two must be rolling over watching what's become of it. If they want to do a hometown flashback or some charity exhibition slash rivalry let em make it.
Benn vs Khan. Make it happen!
never understood why a third fight didn't happen after the draw
never made sense
The reason why there was no 3rd fight was mainly because they had different promoters, channels and the public was not as interested as the rematch was not that exciting and would not wait 3 years for another fight.
Hearn said if Benn had stayed with him then he would have made Benn v Eubank one of his first ppv fights.
Benn won the rematch
The point deduction cost Benn the decision against Eubank. Benn’s defence was better in the rematch particularly head movement which helped him be more successful. Eubank was over confident and thought that his size and Benn chin would mean he would win. Eubanks had 28 hours from weigh in to the fight with Benn 2 to put weight back on which was a big advantage for him.
Cant understand why they don't let it go! (in the words of the song that my granddaughter sings endlessly)
I think this is embarrassing for both Connor and Chris junior, they should tell their dads to fucking grow up and butt out. Its worse than football dads at the local boys game.
I don't see this a silly at all.... Benn 52 and Eubank 49
How old is Hopkins?
Benn is in great shape and this would embarress ALOT of current "World Champs" in terms of ticket sales and PPV buys.
Would easily sell out Wembley Stadium twice over and I think would be a great fight still.
Ive heard that Eddie Hearn is being approached to promote this and both fighters are bang up for it and that it is also very close to being a done deal.
Let them fight I say and you just know the old rivalry is still gonna be right there once the bell goes
These 2 may be in good condition but they are not fighting fit. Benn left quitting after Collins and Eubank was stooped by Thompson. Are they going to take the punishment or run away with the money?
Eubank was winning the Thompson fight. His eye swelled shut and the ref stopped it between rounds.
What you have sad is right, nether is proper match fit but both are n the same page.
Benn has done a few exhibition bouts a couple of years ago but to be fair he would have had harder sparring.
Whoever gets this is on to a financial winner. There will be another rematch beyond this potential one and then you will have Collins coming out of the woodwork. Maybe Toney and Jones Jr want a piece of the cake as well.
Shorten the distance, shorten the rounds, give them bigger gloves. At the end of the day its their personalities and their peronalities clashing as well as their styles that people will want to see.
People would still pay to see Mike Tyson fight anyone. Its the attractiveness of their fighting style and personality not the hope they might fight for a world title again.
Tyson v benn is something I would pay to see now.
Sounds like someone needs the money ! I just can't see the point past there best the both of them, but all the hype people will buy into it, Mr Hearn must be foaming at the mouth ALL that money he can make out of to OLD boxers.
I don't believe for one second that Eubank has any intention of having a rubber match with Benn.
He has always known how to push Benn's buttons & he knows that Benn would jump at it.
The world does not need to see two rickety 50 year olds trying to resurrect a rivalry from a quarter of a century ago.
