Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
Hughie Fury Inks Promotional Pact With Frank Warren - Boxing News
Bit of a Surprise for me, this one, only because of the relationship between Fat Mick and the Fury's. I have said in the past, that unfortunately Mick cannot compete financially and this could have a knock on effect further down the line with Tyson.
in all seriousness, and I'm not trying to take the piss or wind you up, but @ross, I'd quite like to hear your views on this because after all said and done, you do seem to know more about the Fury's than most.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
I know Peter said he wants Hughie to have another 4 fights this year after this next one and probably Mick doesnt have the dates or the clout. Hughie is fighting just 2 weeks after this next fight.
Im not sure Hughie was actually signed too Hennessey as such anyway and is probably just going to go where the work is fight by fight.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
So he will have stay busy fights and then go back to Hennesey.

See this is my point. You said yourself, Hennessy doesn't have the Clout, and I wonder whether this will have an effect on Tyson's career.
All these top promoters need money men behind them, they're not using all their own dough . Hearn has Sky, Warren has the east end steel guy that is big with West Ham as well (Rainham Steel.) Hennessy hasn't got that. I think that's the primary reason the rematch hasn't been made yet, and also the primary reason it'll probably be in Germany.
If Tyson was with Matchroom/Hearn, this would be at Wembley, I mean, they're more than likely having Bellew at Goodison ffs.
This isn't a criticism, far from it. I think Hennessy is the most genuine of the 3 promoters and I also really like the relationship Tyson has with Hennessy and how he has stood by him. However, eventually, he is going to have to go elsewhere because he's outgrown Mick. Sad but true really.

Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
Loyalty from Fury is better than money.
Same with Frampton with McGuigan.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
The Fury v Klitschko rematch will be still the Klitschko show. If Wlad is putting in clauses to try to win back the title you can bet theres also clauses that say he gets to choose the venue and date.

For once you are right. Fury should walk away from the Klits, with the titles, and let the market demand what his paydays are. Hopefully he will get a few good ones, irrespective of alphabet political bollox.

Mick Hennessy is Still Involved With Hughie Fury - Boxing News
This clears things up a touch. Hennessy will still be involved , but reading between the lines, they either go with Hearn (who I get the feeling they can't stand.), or they team up with Warren, who they've worked with before. Win-win because Warren won't mind a bit of the pie and being able to compete with Matchroom , whereas Hearn/Sky would put too many clauses on them.
Whatever Ross and I disagree on, I have to say I do like the honour that team Fury show and how genuine they and their relationship with Hennessy is.

Yeah im never right;D:rolleyes:
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
I wonder what percentage fat Mick actually gets from these Fury's? Frank Maloney was reduced to getting 1% of Lennox's purses before getting the elbow.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
probly why the furys are so loyal
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
He's apparently Tyson Fury's "promoter" yet Fury hasn't fought on one of his bills for four years. Now Hughie has signed a deal to fight on a rival promoters channel. What do they keep him around for?
It's the reverse of - "If you want loyalty get a dog" :D

For good reason , Aquilera is allergic to feathers so he couldn't go ahead with the bout.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
Dominic Guinn has stepped in to face Hughie.
Not been active but never been stopped or even dropped so better than it could have been.
Re: Hughie Fury signs with Frank Warren
not interested in these "lastminute.com" fights, and it happens way too often with Hughie. I'm reserving Judgement till I see what fights Frank Warren manages to get him.
Frank's lost Chisora, so he can't even feed his new lion cub that old lump of meat.

It happened with Tyson too. They struggled to find opponents willing to face him. When you see the ease he handled Wlad you realise why.
Hughie is good, they know he's good but losing to Hughie effects their marketability more than losing in a good effort to a big name.
