Overrated movies the critics liked but you didn't enjoy?
Here's a few that are supposed to be good, but I didn't enjoy:
Mulholland Drive
The Thing
Requiem for a Dream
Fight Club

The 82' remake of The Thing was absolutely awesome! How often can we say that with Hollywood now recycling anything that did 6 figures today ;D
Critics seemed to like remake of Road warrior aka Mad max recently. Won 6 Oscars ??? Honesty watched with open mind but FFS, that was awful!
Have never watched Fight club as I read spoilers about it never actually existing. Seemed a bit pointless

The color purple. Just depressing. ..
Dead presidents.
Oh, beyond depressing. I loathe dramas with sad endings. Why should I pay someone to depress me?
Any movie with a sad ending, heralded by movie critics is not enjoyable.
Okay...maybe one.... Glory, but it wasn't really a sad ending. Besides we know that colored 54th regiment was the beginning of a new nation that fought to be inclusive, not exclusive.

I agree about that one. Although Tom Hardy is a great actor, it certainly didn't deserve any Oscars.

Million dollar baby, made me depressed for 3 days.

I'm not a fan of boxing movies...but Clint Eastwood is the man, so I watched it.
Man her trailer park family was just awful towards her. No matter what she tried...her Momma was just cold.
I know a few people just like her, the black sheep of the family. Yeah sad movie.

That broke back mountain thing was simply flat and unappealing, the misses and I thought something big was going occur all the way through, then it ended thank fuck.
Re: Overrated movies the critics liked but you didn't enjoy?
You are one brave soul and deserve many kudos for venturing into the theater to see that movie.
(You probably accumulated a bunch of points with Mrs. Andre). ;)
I remember my own wife wanted to see it, and then someone at work warned me of a certain sleeping bag scene, after which I made some sort of excuse not to have to go see it.

I thought The Revenant was awful (even though I know some people who worked on it).
A major part of it (including the grizzly attack) was filmed here in the rainforest of southwestern BC. Our wet coastal mountains are nothing like the dry, relatively flat area of the great plains where the real events took place.
No redcoats ever wiped out an Indian village in that area at that time in history, the British were not even there at that time. The Indians in fact were allied with the British against the Americans some years before that, but not there, farther east in Michigan and Ohio.
The southerner was portrayed as evil, which happens all too often in Hollywood movies.
And the French are not the monsters shown in the movie. A French-Canadian actor refused to be part of the cast, because the movie was degrading to French people.

Agreed on Revenant. Boring. And an hour too long.
