Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
I can't think of a better way for either guy to end their careers whether they win or lose. I do kind of believe Pacquiao with a shoulder injury I do not think that was faking therefore it really may have been a factor in that fight. We probably should tend to believe that it was a real injury.... that Pacquiao will be able to do much better in a rematch. Let's hope there is a rematch but that's awesome really hope that it is a nuts-and-bolts nitty-gritty kind of rematch without all that nonsense fair fair fanfare that didn't ever live up to the hype last time
-
Let's hope not, any educated fan can see that Pacquiao could never beat Floyd. He has no jab.
-
Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
If last night proved anything at all it was that Floyd has no reason whatsoever to return for 50 against a welterweight.
-
Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
It's obvious Floyd wants the 50-0 and I think a pacman rematch is the only fight that will get Floyd the kind of money he's wanting. Can't see Floyd vs Garcia even being that big of a fight apart from Garcia being undefeated how else can they sell it. It's a complete miss match highly doubt Garcia would win any more than one round.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
He breezed through most of his opposition at ww and sww so if he does make a comeback, it would be either too little (any ww out there or a Canelo rematch) or too much (GGG).
On the other hand though, Pacquiao couldn't be worse than Berto and he did fight Berto after all.
Personally, I'd prefer Golovkin. Realistically, even, because it would be one of his very few hard/defining fights, so that would justify it from a fan's point of view βwhich he probably doesn't give a sod about.

Both of these guys need to just go away (Manny and Floyd)
After waiting and listening to their sht for 6 years. It's time to let it go. We have the following future matchups to look forward too:
Joshua vs Haye, Pov, Fury, Wilder, Wlad, etc
Kov vs Ward, Stevenson, Beiterbiev
GGG vs Jacobs, Canelo, etc
Brook vs Thurman, Khan, Garcia, Spence, etc
Loma vs Walters, Rigo, etc
So many fantastic fights on the horizon to look forward to this year and the years to come. These two had their time in the sun, although the fight didn't live up to expectations, there's no longer a need for the potential of this fight to take up space in the headlines. No offense, but they need to fuc off.
Mayweather is 39 and has no power in his hands anymore. Pacquiao is 37 and hasn't KO'd anyone in a while.
Manny will be broke long before Floyd and needs the payday. I feel sorry for Manny however, he's loyal to a fault and Arum and Koncz have taken most of his money already. He got over $100 mil to fight Mayweather now he was back to $20 mil to fight Bradley and then you gotta minus, Arums 30% take, Roach's 10% and then paying double taxes.
I think that Floyd fight opened up his eyes to the business side of boxing. Especially when he was able to basically work out the fight with Floyd without Arum. If he fights on, he should let Floyd promote him (being totally serious).
But Manny was a sore loser and basically said "He wouldn't stand there and let me hit him". Manny won't get another shot, and even if he did, he'd never make anywhere near that amount again. Floyd would offer him 80/20 if he's lucky.
Manny take your loss and sail off into the sunset, time to pass the torch. The shoulder thing is BS. Adrenaline is a mother. It's why a mofo can get shot and still drive himself or walk himself to a hospital.
To be honest I'd rather pay to watch Holly Homes kick the crap out of Ronda Rousey again. At least you know there will be some action.

Diddo.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
If both fighters want it then it will happen because there is too much money to be made for it not to happen. Even if Manny was knocked out, they would convince us the fight should be made.
Boxing is absurd.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
They'll try to play the "Manny's shoulder affected the outcome" card in order to sell it. Definitely won't be$ 100. Likely 75 Fazools.

Fighters are entitled to whatever money they can get/generate, but I'm not giving any more money to Floyd or Manny. Like you said there are plenty of fights out there that we really want to see, especially Holm v Rousey II. ;D

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
Reading fanfare about how much money these fighters will milk us for.. as a reason to want it to happen again
...
Is like hearing two johns hoping there will be another hookers convention because of all the money the hoes will make.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
I didnt think Pac looked great against Bradley but he won easy so hes clearly still a top guy in the division. I dont think he should retire. Id love to see him fight Khan or Crawford (the same people Id love to see Floyd fight) but dont see either going for those fights. Roach was talking about Pac fighting Canelo. I know its massive money but Im not really keen on that for some reason.
I wouldnt be against a Pac Floyd rematch but wouldnt be paying PPV for it

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
Money talks. Between these two divas it yells through a bullhorn then beats us over the head with it. It won't be the 'fans' in the know they again market it to it will be the casual fans who actually thought that fight happened when it needed to. But the division doesn't need it and I hope they both stay 'retired'.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
The different shoulders, different percentages, same Nevada rules, same styles, same entertainment value is the same same... As long as only one guy wants to fight and the other "entertain/be chased/ pot shot and hold", nothings changed. Mind as well put abraham vs. Dirrell 2 and broner vs porter 2 on the under card.
For the sake of argument, lets say that manny's shoulder is 200% what it was in the first fight, the only thing it means is floyd would clinch him up twice as much.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
I really hope not Mayweather just better then Manny i dont need to see a boxing lesson again. I used to not like Mayweather thought he lost to jlc although he did avange it and Oscar fight i thought was close and that was old Oscar. That being said over time i find my self rooting for Mayweather because ever one shits on him to point were they even say he is a shit fighter which is insane. Mayweather should just walk away with the Rocky record do what Lewis did walk out on top man.

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
the ideal situation for me would be mayweather retire for a bit, lose all his money, spend some time in prison for gayness and then make a comeback and get flatterned

Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
in some ways I wish they didnt
-
Its on. Jersey City sources claim an Atlantic City bout is secretly being negotiated for October.
-
Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
The prospect of a rematch between those two does not enamour me one iota.
For starters, the first fight took over 6 years to come to fruition, so how long would we have to wait for a rematch?
The two of them would be featuring in Stannah Stairlift adverts by the time a rematch is organised.
-
This fight will not happen. Think about it, how many people do you know or that write on here actually want to see a rematch?
Put that against how many DON'T want to see it?
The TV people aren't stupid, and Floyd and Manny won't take too much of a pay cut, in fact I don't think Floyd would take any less.
-
Re: Is there even a 25% chance of a May-Pac rematch?
I hope this never happens. Floyd has really taken the mickey for the last 10 years and seems to come back to see what he can get away with and somehow they pay him more and more for fighting lesser opponents and doing less and less in a fight each time. "Enough" I cry from the rooftops "Enough of this, I say!".
Manny is endearing in his own way with his charmingly non-PC talk about people who do unusual things in their private lives. However, he was really rubbish against Floyd and was likewise taking the mickey by fighting Bradley in a trilogy. I hope he retires or at least never fights Floyd again. "Manny, stop with this carry on. It is intolerable!" I scream and shout from a cloud perched beyond all time and space. The fight with Algieri was lame enough, but a trilogy against Bradley was a step too far.
