Really?!?! I just can't shake the feeling that Floyd is more likely to fight the Canelo-Khan winner than anyone else. Think about it: both have HUGE fan bases (especially Canelo) to generate hype/interest, the fight will be historic in that it will be for the lineal middleweight title (unbelievably), and both are as close to guaranteed wins as Floyd can get. They will hype Khan as having the speed and bixing skills to beat Floyd, and hype Canelo as having overcome the inexperience and deficiencies that allowed him to be humiliated/shut out last time. The only factor I see affecting that COA, is potentially Manny signing to fight the winner first to force a Floyd rematch May 5th of next year.

Unfortunately, looking at this from a business point of view/perspective, Floyd vs. Canelo/Khan winner for the middleweight title or Floyd vs. Manny (if he beats the winner of Canelo vs. Khan) for that title makes him $100M easy. Floyd vs. Garcia, Thurman, Porter...etc., regardless of who they beat at that weight, won't get him that kind of money (Garcia for his 50th win and another title may get him some decent money though).
I don't think any of the fights Floyd will take at this point are interesting or will be entertaining at all (now that he has said definitely not to GGG). I would rather see Manny vs. Canelo-Khan winner, GGG destroy Canelo, and a round robin of fights between Porter, Thurman, Brook, and Garcia. Those are all much more entertaining and fan pleasing fights than Floyd shutting out an inferior opponent (they all are 154 and under) behind an average 12 punches landed per round. He's a great fighter and business man, extremely intelligent in promotion and boxing, but not very entertaining these days in the ring (I forgive him for that due to his age and likely boredom at this point of his life/career).

I just don’t see that fight paying anywhere near 100 million to Floyd. A rematch with Alvarez is most likely the only fight that presently would. He also would not have to worry about holding Golovkin to earlier catchweight offers. That would actually be worse than Leonard demanding 12 rounds, glove weight and ring size against Hagler. It would look weak and second rate. Besides, by fighting Alvarez for the lineal 155 title he would also gain the paperwork awarding him the middleweight belt. Not only that, Floyd would have to see a decline in Golovkin before he ever entertained the thought. The fight with Golovkin makes no sense or cents. Based on past deeds and given the significance of 50, this return would only be historical if he wins it. It’s why Garcia has already made the top of the list. Seriously, what a cake walk. 100 million for that? He’d be arrested for theft when he left the ring.Quote:

Put him in a rubber raft with a slow leak in the Middle of the Atlantic and don't give him a repair kit or chewing gum. If he makes it back without having to be rescued I'll buy the fight but you can't make me watch it. Boxing had him, he's gone and enjoy your retirement Floyd and earn your hall of fame spot by staying away, no more dull fights please. What makes this so horrible IMO is that Floyd's lifestyle similar to that of BHop and few if any ring wars.....

I think the Manny fight worked because of the hype, but nobody else has the star power that Manny had, plus it was a snoozer of a fight. I would love to know who buys all these Floyd fights. I am sure it's Rocco saving up and buying dozens of PPV's each time. 100 million to see Floyd do his ballet? It will likely be Manfredo Jnr at SMW. :D
