Cant believe the crowds no booing for these two stinking out the joint.
Here we go.
Verdejo / Martinez
Good heads up. Was hoping it was Walters for Loma but Martinez more than capable.
Pretty even rd. Martinez coming forward making the fight. They already landed more and threw more then the entire previous fight did.
Clear round for Felix. He landed some nice crisp shots but Martinez never even blinked. Felix is damn fast.
Bring back lederman !
but i agree, verdejo is looking pretty handy today, only saw him twice before but i think this is the best I have seen him perform, so I assume the youngling is learning and improving, that's good.
Round 3 all Felix really but this Martinez keeps coming and working. Felix cant seem to miss with that right hand.
Felix again but he has to be thinking in there
there we go, verdejo makes the ref step in, maybe he could have let him go on but I don't think there can be much complaints... good work verdejo, really good right hand to nearly put him down. I like verdejo it still looks to me like he goes to the big punch too quickly sometimes and ends up missing more than he should, maybe he should use his jab a bit more but whatever that was good.
Wow his skills were on full display there but I think the stop was bogus. Martinez was ducking under shots etc etc. Unreal skills shown by Felix.
here they come !!!
when is walters coming back? maybe he has really upset the higher powers and is blacklisted now S:
Main event
Not a huge fan of either although its obvious Loma is pretty special but I'd love to see Rocky upset the apple-cart.
Upsets make the boxing world go round WAR Martinez ;D He should spin circles around him though
Lomas rd but whats he doing complaining about the butt, he's the one that caused it.
Pretty dominant rd for Loma
Rocky looked confused for most of rd 3
Rd 4 another dominant rd for Loma.
lomachenko is really great but he must be using up a lot of energy to fight the way he does, he is constantly moving in every direction, this must take a huge amount of effort and energy, how long can he keep this up? in this fight and into his 30s :S
Wow. Thats all she wrote. Talk about punch selection.
Very impressive by Loma
Dudes the total package. He made Martinez look like he had no business being there
And i thought Felix was impressive...... Lomachenko put on a show. That was some of the best boxing I've ever seen. His footwork is just unreal, always in a position to throw a punch, never off balance, and in perfect position to slip his opponents punches by only moving a few inches. Man that dudes fun to watch.
OK then, download it when I wake up. Hopefully I drank so much I won't remember he won before I watch it. :)
Verdejo looked the best I have ever seen him but I'm still not buying into him. I think he will be a good fighter but won't ever reach that great level.
Loma looked great also but I've never really been impressed by Martinez. Good win still though. I'm not sure who the best option for him to fight next. I guess a rematch with salido is probably his best option
Lomachenko has the best movement and positioning of any boxer around today.
No argument from me if they claim he is the P4P number 1.
Uppercut and right hook knockout. Very impressive from Loma.
If that was a boxing clinic then that is a really painful way to get a diagnosis. Great finish from Loma. Class.
I wonder how much of Loma's dominance was due to Martinez's style. Otherwise, a masterful performance climaxed with a chilling knockout.
No offense but we could say the same thing about every dominant performance. I mean styles have everything to do with every fight. From what I saw it was Loma's style that dominated. Martinez although most likely not in his prime is a solid counter puncher/boxer but he looked lost at times and could not get out of the way of the straight left. He was steered the entire fight. Loma's speed and movement was something we don't see that often.
When Loma goes through the gears it's breathtaking. Einstein fighter. He seems to have fully made the transition from the amateurs now, and looks unbeatable.
Entertaining fight! The movement seemed choreographed it was so good. His only loss even though they haven't met again seems avenged. Can't wait to see how much he actually improved since his first pro fight with Salido. He is good and the best part is he is still learning.
What next Limo v Walters be a great fight that one,! I hope that one comes off.
Agreed.
It's just that a standout performance like that can cause some to anoint him P4P.
I think I've read a few posts from you stating similar as in 'I am not sold on fighter (x) just yet. Let's see how he does against fighters like (y,z)fights
I have done it..anointed a guy as the next great because they thoroughly dissected (1) style, then got trounced several fights later.
