No reason for Crawford to back out and Manny is probably too deep in debt.
Not official, but several sources say it will be November.

One source.
I like the question raised of Thruman PAC... And the drop in weight...PAC to drop to 140?
Would you care if the catch weight? 143?:)
Pacquaio may well lose to Crawford as he's in his prime or coming into it while Pacquaio is at the end of his career.
That last Bradley fight proved he's still got something left though.
Good fight.
I think Paquiao might stop him. Crawford is like a slicker Bradley, but I don't think he has his toughness being a smallish fighter. Pac will put him down, but whether he has the drive to keep someone down is another story these days.
Does Pac get to be all PEDed up for this one...?
He'll get KO'd again. End of career.
Reminds me of Terry Norris vs Ray Leonard (without the Sugar)
It doesn't really matter what weight it's at. Crawford can go to 140 or he would be fine coming in at 147. Crawford beats pac at this point in their careers. He is way to slick and fast. I doubt pac takes risks and he will stop throwing punches after a few rounds.
The young Floyd may weather wins BIG
Great fight if it happens. I favor Crawford due to age/wear and tear, but if Manny can turn back the clock for just one night, Terrance may be in big trouble. Manny has faced Floyd, Oscar, Barrera, Morales, JMM, Cotto, Hatton, Bradley, Ledwaba, Mosely, and Larios, among others. In other words, Manny won't see anything new against Crawford, but Crawford has never faced anyone close to a top form Manny. Great match up.
All respect to Manny but see him absolutely boxed to a pulp. He simple will not be allowed to close let alone burn hot enough to cut off and commit on Crawford. He'll be left in bad lurches against a guy who can throw bricks through all of the windows. Crawford needs to move up already but can see Arum ushering in a mega Manny event with ease hoping to spring board Crawford.
Crawford is too good for Manny at this stage. It must be a fight to hand the torch over to the new p4p champ.
I favored Pac over those names due to wear and tear.
Manny never faced the Mosley & DLH that faced each other first fight.
Hatton proved one dimensional. Pac did beat up a good Cotto imo.
JMM & PBF don't have a style that Manny could incorporate into his own ..no lessons learned.
Bradley ..so damn unfortunate he has no sting to keep fighters honest. .a faded Manny will always beat any aged Bradley.
Crawford vs Pacquiao is a passing of the torch fight as Master stated.
Switch hitting thinker, young, mobile. Height and reach advantage.
I agree about being left in lurches. Manny has never liked intelligent movement. Manny has always been off balance and balance does not improve with age. Really the only question is, is Crawford who we think he is. If he is Manny would be in deep.
But I still doubt it comes off. Vargas suits Manny much better so until it is confirmed I assume it will be Vargas.
Does it matter what suits Manny now though? Crawford is another Arum guy with all the upside except name recognition, Pac is at the very end of his career anyways, that at least gives me hope this will actually come off. If it were only down to this fight it would be Vargas because that's an easy win and Manny is selling all the tickets either way, but then you have no further return on investment.
Arum will want whatever PPV stardust Manny has left to be transferred to Crawford. If Crawford wins it's not going to make him a star the way Manny beating Oscar made him a star but it's the best thing Arum has got going right now. Only question is does Arum make Manny-Vargas first,
That would make perfect sense with Manny being number one for Vargas trinket. Also noticed Vargas oddly placed on stage during Crawford-Postol weigh in. Honestly think he is just warming it for either Manny or Crawford and it will be one of them. Would make perfect scenario and long overdue jump to welter for Crawford and if I had a criticism of Crawford in late rounds vs Postol it's that he looked like a man who knew something much larger was waiting. Look good today great tomorrow kind of thing. Then again the way Manny is on and off again coming back or going..why take chance his mind will change just fighting a Vargas when iron is hot to strike on Crawford v Manny right now.
Manny Pacquiao: Jessie Vargas named as opponent for 5 November bout
Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring on 5 November against American WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.
Former eight-division world champion Pacquiao, 37, had announced his retirement after beating Timothy Bradley in April.
But his promoter Bob Arum said last month that the Filipino boxer would fight again this year.
"Retirement doesn't suit Manny right now," Pacquiao's manager Michael Koncz told the Los Angeles Times.
"Boxing is in his blood. When he trains, it's like a pressure-release valve. You can see a dramatic difference in his mood... he's happy.
"It's amazing what training and fighting does for him."
Pacquiao and his team will meet on 10 August in Manila to discuss whether the bout against 27-year-old Vargas should be staged in Los Angeles or Dubai.
"That's the essence of the meeting," Koncz added. "Not choosing the opponent. That's already been done."
Pacquiao's unanimous decision win over Bradley was his first fight in nearly a year, following his much-publicised defeat by Floyd Mayweather.
He had said he was ending his boxing career to concentrate on politics. Pacquiao won election to the Philippines' senate in May.
Vargas won his belt in March against compatriot Sadam Ali and has won 10 of his bouts via a knockout or stoppage, with his only defeat coming in a points loss against Bradley last year.

Pac could never beat JMM clearly before getting knocked the fuck out and lost every single round against Mayweather i do not think this is a good fight for him. Crawford style is pretty fucking elusive and he seems to have some power in those shots going to watch it anyway but might be a blow out.
