Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
The weigh in for this fight was earlier on, and Hyland came in 2lbs 6oz over the limit, and was given two hours to lose the weight. Two hours later, he weighs in at exactly the same weight. Maybe I'm missing something, but if he's been trying to strip the weight down in those two hours, surely he should have made some dent in the weight. Is the case that Hyland knows the fight's going ahead, and hasn't tried, or is there something I'm not seeing?

Josh Warrington's fight with Patrick Hyland will go ahead despite the Dubliner failing to make weight.
Hyland (31-2-KO15) came in 2lbs 6oz over the featherweight limit of 126lbs at the weigh-in ahead of his fight with the 'Leeds Warrior', live on Sky Sports 1.
Warrington (23-0-KO4) made the weight, but even after a second weigh-in his challenger was still the same 38 ounces over.
It means the champion will bring the WBC International featherweight title to the ring at the First Direct Arena on Saturday, but even if he springs a huge surprise and wins, Hyland will not take the belt home.
Warrington is still expecting a tough night's work and with a world title challenge before the end of the year in his sights, is looking to prove he is ready to take on the very best.
"I know he hasn't made the weight but I think he's still going to put it on me and I've got to get him out of there," he told Sky Sports News HQ.
"He's already said he's got to try and slow me down so I am sure he will be looking for that big shot but at the same time I like to let my shots go, so expect fireworks."
Warrington is getting married in two weeks but already expects the celebrations to begin on Saturday night in front of a partisan crowd.
With Leeds United star Sol Bamba walking him into the ring and the likes of Luke Campbell, Dillian Whyte, David Allen, Tyrone Nurse and Tommy Coyle part of a packed card, the 25-year-old admits even he cannot wait to be part of it.
"It's one of the best cards I've seen for a while," he said.
"The arena's normally quiet until I walk in but I think it's going to busy throughout the night. There is some brilliant 50-50s and some top talent from around the country, so it's well worth tuning in."
Meanwhile, those involved in the other three live fights had no such weight issues and can now fully focus on Saturday night.
Many were expecting a fiery head-to-head between Whyte and Allen - who have constantly traded verbal blows over the past few weeks and months - but the heavyweights were on their best behaviour.

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
I don't like to throw opinions out there prior to a fight, mainly as I'm usually proved to be incorrect, but those bouts I've seen Allen in have shown him to be fairly lumbering and open to anyone that really has a good shot. If Whyte shows up on form, I reckon he probably wins within the distance.

All the same things were said about Tyson Fury;)
Put him in with someone he respects and hes focussed;)

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
I'm expecting this to be a cracker. These guys to me are evenly matched. I too am surprised that hyland didn't make the weight. I would have thought he would be taking this v seriously, as his time a as a contender will be over if he loses.
I would say a close fight with Warrington taking control in the later rounds and winning on points

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Bill starting in about ten minutes - it's going to be one heck of a night of boxing!
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
So much for the Sky streamed fights.
Hyland clearly didn't even try to make weight. Have no idea because Warrington can't punch.
Coyle is never in a bad fight. Allen has the lip, at least he made the Whyte fight interesting, regardless.

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Phone booth. Coyle going south
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Coyle scores "nothing" KD with jab. His face is a 2 & 8, be surprised if he gets to the line
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Glenn calling Nurse his dads name.
-
Tommy is struggling he needs a ko to win.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Cracking fight to open things up, and I'm a little gutted having seen Coyle's response. I have to think that Nurse probably deserved it, and he has looked a little more aggressive over recent fights, making him a little easier to watch than in his early days. As the guys at the start mentioned, it seems like he's been around forever and should be in his 30s, but he's still only 26.

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Zab Judah whopping Campbell

Needs to regroup Campbell when you move up in class it's never easy.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
McCrory had only said "Campbell has to get off to a good start..." about 15 seconds before he went down. Curse of the commentator.

Mendez is no bum he's a still a decent fighter.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Campbell has recovered pretty well from the knockdown, but Mendez still clipping him regularly.

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Good comeback from Campbell. Zab needs to go lefty

Zab is more like Hopkins and Campbell should go all Joe Calzaghe on his ass.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
If Mendez genuinely wants to get back into the rankings with a win, then he's going to have to step his performance significantly, as Campbell is dominating now.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
No surprise to see Campbell take that one with a fair margin on the whole, and a good result for him, with the flash knockdown being the only blemish. 116-111. 117-110. 115-112, with the third card being a little bit close.

Easy win in the end.

Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 1:
The stare off was interesting, Allen all calm and cold, and Whyte trying to rile him and get in his face. Whyte opens up with a few jabs, a few getting through, but no meat in them. Whyte with a right cross, and Allen then gets his first shot to the body. Pretty slow for the first half of the round. Allen digs in a left hook, from the southpaw stance. Jab from Allen, returned by Whyte, then an uppercut. Round ends with a Whyte jab, returned by Allen. Cagey stuff so far, but Whyte landed a few more.
Whyte 10-9
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
At least Whyte now is fighting back to orthodox stance.
Allen doing a Roy Jones and hands down.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 2:
Whyte back in orthodox for the second. Dillian loose and throwing, but not getting it through the guard. Whyte starting to pick up the pace. Allen dropping his hands, and letting Whyte jab him. Not smart.Good right cross from Whyte, and then a straight right counter. Allen with a body shot but Whyte comes straight back. Allen missing with an overhand right, Whyte comes back with a couple of body shots, told to keep them up. Nice right hook from Whyte. Allen digs in a body shot having been clipped with a jab. Two body shots land for Whyte.
Whyte 20-18
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 3:
Straight right from Allen, but Whyte working harder so far. Allen looking a little more active. Body shot from Whyte, and more jabs, a nice right hook gets through for Whyte. Good 1-2 from Whyte, and Allen definitely needs to pick it up. Alle lands a zesty jab, but he needs more, then Whyte comes back with a 1-2. Body shot from Allen, then he makes Whyte miss. Big right from Allen, but Whyte not moved. Better round for Allen, but he's still not doing enough to beat a busier Whyte.
Whyte 30-27
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Did you mention the big right hand in the 3rd?
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 4:
Whyte with a nice combo to open, finishing with a straight right. Whyte hasn't been putting too much meat into his punches, but has been very busy so far. Nice overhand and then a straight right, Allen hasn't done anything in the first minute. Left hook from Allen, but Whyte puts in a couple of jabs to respond. Whyte switches stance again, and clips in some nice jabs. Allen seems perplexed in there, and is being totally outworked. Three straight jabs from Whyte all gets through, but then he misses with a wild overhand right. Good body shot from Whyte, Allen lands a right, but another round for Whyte.
Whyte 40-36
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Whyte looks shit, Allen looks shit , and the referee is a fucking prick.
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 5:
Allen trying to be a little more active with a body shot. Allen lands a couple of jabs, and a right. Allen slows quickly, and Whyte again with body shots, warned for going low again. Big right hook from Whyte, but Allen unmoved. Whyte working with short uppercuts on the inside, then a nice right to the body. Another uppercut, and Whyte showing good variety, putting in more muscle into his punches. Right hook then a jab from Whyte, but he might be tiring a little too. Straight right from Whyte, and then a big right uppercut which would have put many guys down. Another good round for Whyte.
Whyte 50-45
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 6:
Allen really has to step up if he wants to win, but Whyte starting with shorter punches, before going into a wild flurry that doesn't get through. Whyte still more active, landing a right to the body. Right body shot and uppercut from Whyte look good, Allen lands a rare body shot, then a jab, but Whyte still far more active. Allen needs to be a lot more aggressive and creative with his punches. Gumshield comes out. Body shot from Whyte, and Allen's response doesn't have too much behind it.Another flurry from Whyte strays low. Jabs land on the chin of Whyte, and a hook from Allen strays low. Good straight right from Whyte.
Whyte 60-54
-
Re: Josh Warrington v Patrick Hyland - Whyte/Allen and undercard
Round 7:
Allen not showing any signs like he might be KO'd, but also not showing any signs of winning so far. Jabs from Whyte. Good overhand right from Allen, but he doesn't follow it up. Both pawing shots in the clinch. Short right then uppercuts from Whyte, then a huge overhand right. Allen's gumshield out again. They trade jabs, but Whyte is landing more and heavier shots. Big straight right from Whyte, Allen tries to come back and lands with a straight right. Whyte this time unmoved, and comes back with a body shot and a right. Whyte definitely looking to try and get Allen out, but he's not moving.
Whyte 70-63
