BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Rosado Shakes Head, Tears Apart Saunders For Walking Away - Boxing News
so he's already swerved GGG, now you've got BJS turning down Rosado seemingly with delusions of Grandeur, You've got Eubank turning down 3 World Champions for yet another British title defence. These 2 are both beginning to piss me off.
If they fight each other again, I will go royally fucking mental. They don't deserve to make big money when they keep avoiding proper challenges.
as far as BJS goes, he's been World Champion a year and he hasn't defended his title yet. no disrespect to Andy Lee , but he was hardly the greatest champion to win it off himself.
Basically Saunders is a paper World Champ who only got the opportunity because he's British. Really, he is only a British Champion , his 2 best victories are against Brits.
Pair of fucking idiots!!
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
I did like BJS and was well chuffed for him when he won the title but you are right, he hasn't done fuck all since and its a bit of a piss take, I have heard him taklking about Canelo and GGG but he hasn't done anything at all to try and force any fights let alone taking on them pair, he talks a good game but he doesn't have the balls to risk his belt
to many champions are frightened of losing their belt, yes its understandable but where are the fighters who want to prove that they are the best in their weights, its as if you win the belt and then just sit on it taking easy fights.
since Kell Brook won his belt he hasn't fought anyone either, Frankie fucking Gavin, give me a break, and even the GGG fight has only come about because its mega money and no belt is on the line.
the Brits are starting to embarrass themselves as world title holders
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Saunders has had a right pop at Fat Dan on twitter because he reported that Golden Boy said he turned down not just Rosado but Stevens and Monroe too.
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
You can't say "these fighters are embarrassing themselves," then when they take the big fight say "they only did it for the money."
The whole business is determined soley on filthy lucre.

I'm not having a pop at Brook for taking the fight for the money, thats why they are in the game after all
Its more about the 2 years before that whilst he was sitting on his belt when there were plenty of big fights to be made, hopefully after the GGG fight regardless of the outcome it'll spur him on to try and take some other big fights
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
I have to admit BJS has done nothing since he has won the title. At least make some easy voluntary defenses to keep busy and active. He has got fat and lazy.
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
I dunno all the facts obviously, but I read saunders turned down Rosado because he has lost 4 of his last 6 and he wouldnt gain anything from the fight
lets hope saunders next fight is more meaningful than a massive fight in a huge venue on a massive bill against a very well respected and high profile fighter
strange thing is tho saunders would win every round against Rosado, and Rosado doesn't exactly hit very hard, its not like saunders would be in much danger
-
Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Don't want to make the thread about Brook (or need to defend him) but was there plenty of big fights to make? It takes two to tango. Ignoring that he got his leg chopped off, was blatantly swerved by Khan and faced two mandatories, remember he went to the states to beat Porter.
If those American fighters are not willing to come here - as long as the dosh is right - why should he be expected to travel?
Vargas was getting more than Brook to come here. That prick Brandon Rios was scared to come to the UK because he'll get robbed.

Yeah it takes two to tango but still...Frankie fucking Gavin
To be honest I'd completely forgot about him having his leg amputated, that had completely slipped my mind, I suppose I might be being a tad harsh on him
BJS and Jr don't get any passes though

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
I believe Saunders had an injured wrist/hand part of the time, but that didn't keep him from taking on GGG, Canelo, etc etc.. (in interviews:rolleyes:) The sanctioning bodies need to tighten the rules on belt holders, or at least on single belt holders and impose stricter limits on inactivity, negotiating windows, etc etc.
At this point any belt holder who has immediate mandatories waiting in line is able to stall out the sanctioning body by claiming he's in talks with another high profile fighter. The other fighter is being done a favor if he's not obligated to fighting someone already (by giving him an opportunity to stall-- if hes already obligated he can be sued for breach on contract) and doesn't raise a stink about it because these half hearted, pipe dream negotiations aren't really meant to set up the fight. Its just a background stalling method to keep the one belt champ lazy and comfortable, hide injuries, cycle out PED's and prolong their reign till a real big money superfight opportunity is being dropped in their lap.

I only say they are doing it for the money when it's an obvious loss and they don't have much to lose. Brook will not beat GGG and when he loses, it doesn't hurt his reputation because he was supposed to lose being the smaller man.
Staying at welter and fighting a top fighter is better because it will be more competitive and you are taking a risk.
For example, if I get paid $1 million to fight wlad, I will take the money and nobody will care if I get knocked out really fast. Or I could take $100 to fight some girl who I think I might beat, but if I lose, everyone willake fun of me for the rest of my life. I would most likely sit and wait for a wlad fight. That's the attitude of many fighters now.

Just because you think the fight is a foregone conclusion doesn't mean Brook does. He could get embarrassed. There's not a welterweight fight that could be bigger/riskier than this for him.

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
I'm giving Saunders the benefit of the doubt here. He's as aware as anybody that he's probably not the best ever middleweight champion and that there's a good chance of him losing when he fights one of the top lads so he's after maximising the money the belt will earn him. It's a short career, you're a long time retired etc etc. What would you do if you were him?

Call out Eubank Jr and then buy another horse.

i would capitalise on being Champion and actually fight and defend my title. Talk about "maximising his earnings", well surely you can only do that if you actually fight?
He's been champion a year and hasn't defended it. He pulled out of a defence with a "minor hand injury that he did while having a wank!", apart from that, nothing.
You don't fight, you don't earn!

I'd fight everyone for peanuts every other week and go out in a heap. Then, I would develop a bad drinking problem and spend every day at various pubs around Ireland. BUT, every other time someone wanted to buy me a pint for being such a warrior, I'd kindly ask for a fiver instead, run to the bank and put it right into an RRSP. If my liver held up, it would be roughly a trade off at worst.

I don't think he's expecting to hang on to his title for very long. He's looking for the biggest payday he can get. He can always fight Eubank later on, he doesn't need a title to earn out of that one.

That is very short term view, BJS is young and can easily make easy defences to earn money rather than cash out.

I don't think he can. Warren needs to show big fights to keep his TV channel alive. Saunders is going to get one easy fight next and then a big one according to Warren. We'll see how big the big fight is if we ever get there.

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
The big one could be Canelo, GGG or Eubank Jnr.

Canelo won't come here , so Frank or BJS won't want it, he avoids GGG like the plague, so that leaves Eubank Jr. again , which is a massive piss take to the punters unless it is a British title fight.

BJS holds a title so it would be for a world alphabet title.

I don't entirely disagree, but perhaps he should prove that by actually going out and fighting them.

He has by beating Andy Lee.

Andy has beaten a number of undefeated fighters and drew with Quillin.

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Right , Andy Lee. He was finished as a MW and Adam Booth said he was better suited to LMW. So they took a money fight in order to put a name on Julian Jackson's up and coming Son's record. Jackson battered him for 5 rounds until Lee found a haymaker from the stars to knock out Jackson and scupper his plans.
Then after talking about how he was now a LMW, because of his connections with Lou di Bella and BJS and Korobov stalling, he got a shot at the title against Korobov. Korobov at the time had a great pedigree and was seen as the favourite against BJS And Andy Lee.
Korobov was battering Lee and lightning struck again! To be fair , he did finish the job off well, but as a boxer , he was getting outclassed.
So Lee is then Champ and again with his U.S. Connections, Quillin's team paid him good money thinking this was an easy route back to a title. What they didn't bargain for was that Quillin had no desire left and couldn't even manage to come in on weight.
So Lee had the luxury of knowing no matter what happened, he couldn't lose his title. And Quillin knew he couldn't become champ. So it ended up being a totally meaningless draw and we have since found out that Quillin is fuck all.
Hardly Sugar Ray Robinson is he?

Quality record, without your sarcastic comments, if you ask me. Beating 2 undefeated fighters and Quillin in his back yard is good form

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Not so long ago, Britain had 4 World level contenders, Barker, Murray, Macklin and Lee. Lee was comfortably seen as worst or second worst out of that pile, now you're trying to tell me he's something special .
As for Quillin, how long ago was he relevant ? Didn't Jacobs KO him in round 1 ? Everybody knows he's finished except you. But you're just looking at his name. And yet you call AJ a hype job? Laughable mate.

Lee has achieved more than Barker, Murray, Macklin.

Barker
Has Lee achieved more than him? No.
Would Lee have beaten Barker ? No
Murray
Has Lee achieved more than him? Well he won a World title and Murray never, but all Murray's title shots were against much better guys than Lee fought .
Would Lee have beaten Murray? No.
Macklin
Has Lee achieved more than Macklin? Probably yes, but the same comments apply that did to Murray.
Would Lee have beaten Macklin? Probably not, 50/50 at best.
So we have to assume that Lee was a paper champion that basically sold his title to BJS, who until he proves differently is a paper champion also.

Re: BJS and Eubank Jr. Fuck 'em both!
Lee achieved more the others let themselves down when they did not fight one another.
