Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
This fight was basically made because they had a barney on twitter. Slag someone off, they respond, have a little back and forth, promoter gauges interest. Bosh! Fight made. Modern matchmaking.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
It's not often you hear a guy brag about being ranked top 15 for a decade but it'll at least keep Flores off the microphone :-X. Two guys going in different direction and Bellew should do well.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
I am beginning to like Bellew.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
I have no impression of BJ Flores whatsoever, would have guessed he retired a while ago. Seems like he's been around forever and is too boring to take any notice of, weird choice of opponent.

Luke Campbell-Derry Mathews - 15 Oct
Excellent crossroads fight on the Bellew card.
Considering Campbell has been dumped on his arse twice in his last three fights it will be interesting to see what happens when Mathews clumps him.
-
Re: Luke Campbell-Derry Mathews - 15 Oct
I haven't seen derry Matthews fight for a little while, is he the same fighter as 2/3 or 4 years ago?
-
Re: Luke Campbell-Derry Mathews - 15 Oct
Campbell should win but it would be great to see an upset here.
-
Re: Luke Campbell-Derry Mathews - 15 Oct
id like to see an upset in some ways, thing is tho if Matthews wins he has 1 maybe 2 more interesting fights left
if Campbell loses theres a long way back and the interest will be less wont it
so id rather see Campbell win in the hope he is in a big fight somewhere in the near future and the interest lasts

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
I dont want to say he fluked his way to the title because thats a bit unfair, but Bellew Makabu was a shoot out, a chin or be chinned moment and it was Bellew who had the best moment. Unless he's very selective I dont see Bellew holding onto the belt for long. Flores wont be the man to take it, expect a Bellew UD.
Campbell Matthews could be a cracker, or Campbell could completely outclass him, do what Tommy Coyle did without getting chinned. Matthews loves a right hander down the pipe and 'wrongun' Campbell might find himself getting off the deck to get the job done.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
see what pisses me off about Bellew is how he talks like he's the hardest cunt that ever got in the ring and boxes like the powerpuff girls! He says in his lovely Scouse accent "I'm going to put on a VICIOUS,VICIOUS display!" when the fuck has he ever put on a vicious display. the guy is a complete fucking fraud!:rolleyes:

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
Bit harsh calling Bellew a fraud. He's got some solid wins on his record, went to Canada to get decapitated and wasn't given a hope in hells against Makabu. Understand he winds people up with his gob, especially with the "i'm Julian Jackson" stuff.
Bellew/Campbell PTS double is roughly 8/1.

What I mean by calling him a fraud isn't about the fact he won a World title. That can't be taken away from him. He's a fraud because he makes himself out to be an all action Warrior that loves a tear up and is "brutal and vicious and can hurt/ko any cruiserweight or heavyweight in the world", whereas in reality he's not a particularly big puncher, doesn't ko many people and isn't overly aggressive.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
He is a solid enough journeyman, with something of a gift for self publicity, who has lucked out by being in the perennially weak cruiserweight division.
nowt wrong with that, just a blue collar guy earning a living

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
Winning that title, at Everton, big underdog, knocked down in the 1st round by a big punching champion means he should star in his own movie.
It was amazing and no one can begrudge him the greatest moment of his life.

Bit over dramatic there. Try watching him rather than listening to him.
He ain't all that, but he's a World Champion, I'll give him that.

I#m by no means a Bellew fan, far from it in fact, I hate watching him box and I hate listening to interviews with him, however I did read an interview with him just the other day when he said something along the lines of 'I'm not the most talented fighter, i'm not the biggest puncher and I might not look like a fighter, but I have more heart than anyone else out there'
I like that, I think someoone asked him about Haye (who is a cunt) it's quite refreshing to hear a boxer who knows his limitations but still believes in themselves.

Tony is far from the best at his weight, he talks a great fight but his fights are not action packed.
If he faces any one of the other Champs he gets his clock cleaned.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
Whats the craic with the fight tonight?
It's on sky sports 3 from 6pm and then flicks over to sky sports 2 at 8pm, is there fights all the way through or is the first few hours on SS3 just a bull shit build up?
It's alright the Villa are playing on Sky Sports 1 so I am kind of torn between what to watch, a shit football match or a shit boxing card.

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
Just had a look and there are only 3 fights listed on the website
Tony Bellew v BJ Flores : WBC Cruiserweight Title
Luke Campbell v Derry Mathews : 12 Rounds Lightweight
Ryan Burnett v Ryan Farrag :British Bantamweight Title
I wonder what's happening with Connor Benn, he hasn't fought for 2 weeks now, I hope he's ok
-
Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
So everyone is bang up for the Bellew fight then...
-
Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
;D Bellew is a mouthy prick at times but he did win me over last time out, yeah i'll be flicking over after West Ham v Palace finishes, David Haye claims Bellews getting Banged out which means he's deffo swerved the black uncle Albert fight and want's Bellews belt next, I think it'll happen too and then he'll jump back up to Heavy ;)
The Campbell fight should be a good un

Poor old David Haye, I reckon the only reason he is doing the punditry work tonight is because Simon Cowell told him he couldn't be a guest judge on tonights X Factor

Afternoon chappies. I've got a 6 round middleweight fight starting, just tuned in. Is this live, any more filler before Bellew-Flores?

Re: Tony Bellew-BJ Flores Oct 15
