The World Boxing Council has decided by a majority vote to confirm Oleg Maskaev as the next challenger to WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman. The free negotiations period begins today for the Rahman vs. Maskaev mandatory defense and if no agreement is reached, a purse offer will be held on May 1st in the WBC Executive Offices in Mexico City. Both fighters should agree that the winner of the Rahman vs. Maskaev fight must fight James Toney as voted by the Board of Governors.
Good rematch...
Rahman would love to redeem himself against that terrible loss to Maskaev, where he was dropped through thr ropes!
In case you didnt see it, the KO first time around was brutal, and the riot ensuing was the worste spectacle I have ever seen at a fight!

I've seen the Oleg Maskaev vs. Sinan Samil Sam WBC Heavyweight Title Eliminator match,
which Maskaev won by decision.I think he deserves this Title-Fight... :box3:

By the way,what did happen exactly in the first Rahman-Maskaev fight?Haven't seen this one

Rahman got knocked out of the ring. He took a nasty shot and literally fell through the ropes, out of the ring. Rahman gets a chance to redeem himself, good for him. If Maskaev beats him again, we will have another guy get off the merry-go-round, If Rock wins, he'll get a little more credit.Quote:
