Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
Depressed people take drugs to try and escape their depression. He's spoken about being depressed for years.
Iv got an idea! As a boxing forum full of supposed boxing fans and "experts" should we get behind the sports biggest achiever in the last year beating an all time great while being a big underdog in the champions home country on the champions own promotion or would it be a classier, better idea to make snide shitty little comments online we would never have the bollocks to say to his face?
What is the agenda here?

....and again, getting popped for cocaine on a drug test is fucking SILLY. Getting popped for something that stays in your system over 2 days is just fucking dumb. Pot I could understand, heroin I could understand, but cocaine.....dude is a complete and utter moron.

Yeah, as a matter of fact I would say them right to his face. Again, what's he going to do punch me? And for what reason? Because I told the truth and it hurt his feelings....well gee Tyson would look quite the big man after THAT interaction
It's not a statement on "I'm such a badass I'd do xy&z" it's more along the lines of I'm a fan of the sport and fuck that guy for being a disgrace.
Ah yes a return of the good old "You've never boxed as a professional or amateur so you can't say anything"...I'm a fan of the sport, I've participated in the sport, and I can say what I fucking please. What gives you the authority to merit out who can and can't talk about boxing? You are (that's correct grammar by the way idiot) a fucking loser....Mr. Big Time Guernsey boxing....fuck you, who have you fought? What have you done in the ring that means anything to me? NOTHING that's what.
Go cry in your pillow about your fallen Gypsy King who WILL NEVER fight again

Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
Post your record ross....go ahead......show us all your excellent boxing credentials

Not because you'd be scared of Tyson flattening your fat ass but because you wouldn't just be such a cunt in public. That's reserved for your make believe life where you post weird shit during the working day on an Internet forum to strangers in your own little fantasy world.

Well if we're judging people based on the experience they have then by all means YOU would be THE PERSON to judge who a cunt was because you're the biggest one on the forum

We'll see him in the ring again in a couple of years when he's skint

What is the agenda here?
Have you ever done cocaine? It alleviates depression about the same way corn syrup does diabetes. Whether his mental health was already deteriorating or not, if he's been doing this shit enough it's going to be pretty hard to separate the two things. What's really stupid here is how short a time it stays in your system, if he tested positive that means he had done it in roughly the couple of days prior. I have no agenda and nothing against Fury personally, no idea what's going on with his mind, but you can either feel sorry for him and afford the guy all the slack in the world, or accept that he had some responsibility here and at the very least wasn't at all transparent or professional. The latter stance is far from unreasonable.

Its all gone tits up over here! There is no way Fury can be supported now if the coke stuff is true, even if its normal practice in Guernsey.

My best wishes is for Tyson to fix the person first before the boxer.... He's got a huge family, lot's of friends and his fans too and all are pulling for him to beat this foe....

ok, how many who have resorted to the bottle have overcome their demons that way also?
Its pathetic. This is supposed to be a site where we celebrate boxers.
For years you lot have bitched how boring the Klitschkos made the heavyweight division. Along comes a massive breath of fresh air who says and does as he pleases, doesn't cheat unlike Vitality Klitschko who was pulled from the olympics. He gives the division a breath of fresh air and everyone loses their shit.
He didn't take cocaine because it was a sensible sane choice. He took it to escape the shit he has to put up with. It's a lot. He hasn't fought for nearly a year but is the most talked about boxer in the world for the past year. Imagine that? Imagine if he had actually fought.
The problem most have in here is that not only will they never be able to appreciate the pressure a fighter faces at even first fight amateur level they will never know the pressure the biggest best fighter in the proffesional boxing world faces.

Its not normal that's the point. Everyone who posts shit on this should be brave enough to post their real name or better still go on Twitter and direct messgae Tyson or Peter fury and screen shot and post their message and the reply here.
and this is where the this thread will descend in to silly sissy bitch insults

Ross my man, you are being a bit ridiculous here. Nobody is without demons and anyone can just implode with substances and feel sorry for themselves, in itself that has nothing to do with boxing, that's its own kind of pressure. To escape the shit he has to put up with? How much of it wasn't brought upon by his own behavior? Not fighting and saying outrageous things is apparently the breath of fresh air everyone was just dying for:-\

sorry to interrupt but I really think this is a bit odd... It is an internet forum about pro sportsmen who make their living from the public, and people are expressing their opinions in a (virtual)public place, I don't see any reason for people to have to go with their opinions to the furys :S I do agree though about the abuse, that's not nice but whatever it happens.

Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
It's all bullshit from bullshitters.
What opinion can people form on the pressures the most scrutinised professional sportsman in the world is facing when they have not ever even experienced the same sport at even an amateur level? It's a joke. You can have an opinion but realise that's all it is. An opinion. Based on nothing.

Anything? You mean like pedophiles and homosexuals being of the same moral fabric, or women belonging in the kitchen? Why you probably shouldn't do cocaine instead of training for HW title fight? I'd give it my best shot ross, but since I haven't boxed, it might be out of my wheelhouse.

errrr well yes course. that's sort of what an internet forum is all about, peoples opinions, we are all still allowed to have them.... anyway I was just passing through, carry on :)

Different arguments. Arguments that should be in boxing forums? Was he in a boxing ring fighting when he said any of this?
Everyone who the media is desperate to talk to has the right to reply and an opinion. You can't really criticise a sportsman in a sports forum on their opinion. Criticise him on his boxing. Criticise the hounding that's caused his depression by those that don't want him as a world champion for his lack of boxing.
-
Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
You are getting emotional, Ross. Fury has messed up and that is all there is to it. It's not the end of the world, but a coke habit might explain why he hasn't been interested in fighting lately. Calling everyone bullshitters though is just crazy talk. There are plenty of people on here who know a thing or two about the kinds of things Fury might be going through. No, they might not all be boxers, but the mental pressures that get to people because of whatever situation they are in are often overlapping ones. That's why you can have someone at the AA meeting who lays bricks for a living and is stressed about work conditions and another is a stage actor with stage fright. They are dealing with similar underlying issues. To call everyone bullshitters isn't so cool.

To say that the hounding caused his depression, or that it wasn't brought upon himself is ridiculous when you consider some of the shit he's said on camera. If he didn't want negative press it would have only taken a few brain cells to refrain from some of those comments. I have no idea what his mental state is or why he couldn't keep shit out of his nose and train for this fight, it doesn't affect me at all either way and I wish no bad upon him. You are a tad reactive here to say the least.

Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
Addiction is a mothertrucker. Not sure Fury is at that point or if he just went on a wild ride with the fame and pressure. At the end of the day though he's a dope and is the one shoving the shat up his own nose. The very last thing he needs is to feel sorry for himself and go on a pity party. Ya f'd up. Own it, get in front of it and forget boxing until you get your head on straight and decide a future. Many a fighter have crashed and burned with demons. Some come back and some never do and it is all in how he plays it now. He needs to be more pissed that he sabotaged himself and fans and not that he got popped for it.
-
Re: Tyson Fury tested positive for cocaine
So nobody who hasn't boxed can criticize Fury for being a lousy champion? For making a mockery out what is supposed to be holding the HW champion of the world title? Must be a strange new rule. :dontknow:
And why is ross taking this so damn personal? He and Fury related or something?
All I know is there's a difference between those who've always hated on Fury and wanted him to lose against Wlad..... and those of US who were rooting for Fury to win and ecstatic when he did. Granted, it was a boring as hell fight but what the hell..... Wlad got beat.
And then it's all been downhill from there!!
WTF?? Oh excuse my coke habit because I have too much pressure?? What the hell is that B.S. all about? Ok so now everybody that experiences too much pressure in their job... it's ok to bury your head in the stuff.
With me it's been like just one thing after another, to the point where I think the cure is worse than the disease.
Meaning...... yes, I was sick and tired of Wlad boring everyone to death. But geeezzz.....
