Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
The fight is tomorrow and I haven't seen anybody mention it on here. I will end up streaming it, but I'm not really that interested. Vargas is game but he is by no means a great fighter. Pac will be his normal self and beat Vargas very comfortably in a non exciting fight.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
This is PPV and just a joke fight.
To drum up interest Arum is mentioning GGG/Crawford when in reality Manny would be happier at this level.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
If I'm up I'll stream it, otherwise no, not fussed at all.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
I forgot this was even happening.
It's pretty sad that we're at the point where nobody cares about seeing Pacquiao fight!
And it didn't have to be this way! He could have fought Crawford or another real threat, but instead they chose a decent boxer with mediocre power... an easy 120-108 night for Pac!
That they have the nerve to ask people to pay to see this nonsense is sickening! Hopefully it does 12 PPV buys.

re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Is there drug testing for this fight?
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
I'll admit I'm getting the ppv. I'm also burning twelve hours of vacation time to see the fight. It is a mediocre fight but I was a bit surprised to see how quiet talk of the fight is. I guess Arum is content with having the loyal idiots like me who will pay for the fights. Despite the lackluster card I am looking forward to it. Where is @pacfan our friend in the Philippines who always pops up around manny fight time. It is tradition talking with pacfan
-
I can't justify paying for this fight. A big name should only land a PPV fight if they are fighting g another big name. I'm hardly interested in the fight whatsoever but I'll stream it. If it were free, I wouldn't really mind the fight as much.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
No not really, I don't rate Vargas that highly and can't see any way he wins, would be very surprised if he's even competitive. Anyone seen Magdaleno(sp), does he have a shot to beat Donaire? Probably most interested in seeing Oscar Valdez again, even though he looks to be in with a soft touch as well.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
This fight belongs on ESPN, not on PPV. There is no interest whatsoever, and if Pac loses, it isn't much of an upset, just means he's old (which we already know). Floyd-Pac was horrible as a fight, but may have been exactly what the fans needed to start pushing back on these outrageous PPVs. Since that fight PPV fatigue has set in and less and less fans are paying to watch stay busy, non-competitive fights. I used to never miss a PPV, now I only pay for Ward-Kov level fights. Floyd vs Berto?!?!? Manny vs Algieri?!?!? Canelo vs Smith?!?!? No thanks.

re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
This fight is on box nation.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Just checked with my cable company. 69.95 oh well screw it, it's only a couple times a year.
It has to be better than Floyd the roid vs. berto
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Will watch on Sunday afternoon on BoxNation.
Interesting fight but nothing to get over excited about.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Hahha, 70 dollars for this BS, it's staggering that they can even get enough buys to break even. Pretty sure even Floyd vs Berto had a much better undercard.

re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
I'm not interested in it as it is a very dull matchup and almost feels like Manny is just trying to cash in with a few easy fights whenever he needs a dollar refill. Vargas is a steady, decent fighter, but he doesn't really have very much going for him in this. I hope Pac loses, but I don't think he will. If it's on TV I will watch it, if not then I will skip it. I haven't even checked the schedule.

You are correct on that one my Canadian friend. Floyd and his handlers always have much better under cards. It's arum just says people will pay for manny and not really pay attention to the undercard. It is one thing that pisses me off about Manny fights
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
What really sucks is we've been in such a drought with fights and here comes Arum shaking the loose change out of what's left in a Manny fan base and fans in general. As a match it's ok but you might as well hold it at a bingo hall when it comes to fan interest. It's really surprising to me how fast his attraction has fallen. Donaire and Valdez fights on the undercard are what I'd really like to see but ppv is a hard sell.

re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
This scam is simply a bridge to a Mayweather-Pac rematch

re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Anyone see Manny said he watched GGG/Brook and that convinced him to come out of retirement? Even when there is no reason to lie this little f'r still lies. The timeline doesn't work moron.
-
re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
It's true but manny has a large international loyal fanbase. Look at the excuses we made for him after Floyd.

Over the last few years you can judge Pac fan base by zero huggers or threads blowing up the forum also :-X

Pathetic really but it is just to hype this crap fight and justify him coming back from retirement when he really never went away.

Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
To keep Walrus happy I have made this the official Manny Pac thread.

Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Pacman is and always will be your quintiessential (if that is the right spelling) underdog. He is always the shorter lighter guy in his fights. Heck even that mofo Nicholas Walters rehydrates up to 148 pounds in his fights and that folks is pretty much Pacquiaos fight night weight. People like Stephen Smith regurgutates names like Errol Spence and some Brook for the fact that both of those guys are pretty much a natural 154 pounder. How come nobody gives a damn about this, Im not saying to give the guy a pass for picking the weakest 147 pounder out there but give the man credit. Pacquiao is practically just a lightweight maybe junior welter fighting full sized welters and some weight fucking bullies are junior middles. Pacquiao for me defines pound for pound best and his 8th division world title and 5 lineal championships will stand the test of time. How can you guys hate the man he is humble too.

Apart from the religious crap He comes to fight always on weight and well prepared mostly fighting guys that are bigger, stronger yes he is on the slide but when you think about SOG fighting Paul smith, Canelo Steven Smith, its not a bad match up although I would not pay the USA price and will watch it on BN.

My dislike for pac started with him beating some fighters that I liked, but it started to transform into real dislike after his whole lying constantly thing.
I remember when almost everyone thought that everything was floyds fault because of blind hate, but now we see that pac lied over and over again about everything. I've always rooted against pac, and tonight is no different.
Also, he fights bigger guys because it's easier for him. He is an anomaly in that he brings his speed and power up with him (because of PEDs IMO), so he has some huge advantages over his opponents. He has a lot more trouble fighting smaller guys.

Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
Poweruncher, what is he lying about?
-
Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
I lied. Looks like someone broke into my house and ordered it. Probably my ex. Been a long week.

Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread

Just remember thinking he isn't as good as his brother who Flanagan just steamrolled. Seems to have a lot of nervous energy and afterthought jab. Walks in to flurry and can be wide in last fight and might seriously be out of his depth with a focused counter punching Donaire.

Re: Manny Pac vs Vargas official thread
The fight card shaped up nicely and underlined are my predictions...
Jessie Vargas vs. Manny Pacquiao, 12 rounds, for Vargas' WBO welterweight title > Boxing is a young man's game but the Manny looked good beating Tim Bradley again in his last fight and has looked good in this camp too...
Oscar Valdez vs. Hiroshige Osawa, 12 rounds, for Valdez's WBO featherweight title > A brutal body puncher that figures to be tested early and often in this fight vs. the tough veteran from Japan...
Nonito Donaire vs. Jessie Magdaleno, 12 rounds, for Donaire's WBO junior featherweight title > I'm a fan of both of these guys and to me this could be the fight of the night and a true barn burner....
-

Well I just found out the lie about saying that the GGG/Brook match was what made him want to come back.
He lied about being scared of needles. He lied about taking supplements (he admitted later that he didn't know what he was taking), he lied about being against mayweather. Those are off the top of my head but I recall some lie involving Marquez but I can't remember. Roach is also super annoying which doesn't help.

Thank you for that, chef. I'm gonna be watching it at my brother-in-law's house, and I'm happy to see such a quality card on tap.
All the more excited about tonight now.
