Two of the judges didn't give Kov a single round after the 6th

Fucking joke!
Ward may have done more than he did earlier in some of the rounds but he certainly didn't out score Kovalev in all of the last half! I couldn't believe it when they announced it! By the looks of his surprise, neither could Ward!
You've been quiet just lately Ross, where ya been?
Neither did I.

I had it 116-111
Dunno what the fuck Lederman and Rafael were smoking.
Judges had Kov winning round 3 and 4 vendettas.
I and the sky sports crew scored them to ward mate.
@Master
Sky sports know shit all about boxing
Yeah but everyone knows your a fucking idiot!;D
Ward only had a few rounds where he landed more than Kovalev if at all. The scoring was a joke. I watched the HBO broadcast and even though they were very biased towards Ward they all accepted he was losing. Lederman had it by a wider margin but even the crowd booed the result!
I have only had a few hours sleep over the last couple of days and didn't write down any scores for this but I at least remember Kovalev winning the last round. When you do more and land more you win a round. A few nice looking shots here and there don't take away how much you have been hit.
Edited for the sake of not destroying Batman thread.
the 10th was the only round i gave to kovalev after the 6th. i thought it was a pretty clear kovalev round, but i could be convinced otherwise. as i said many times last night, kovalev deserved the decision, but it wasnt a robbery. it was a close fight that the judges seemed a little generous to ward, but it doesnt look like they gave ward any rounds that were crazy other than one judge gave ward the 3rd round which was pretty clearly kovalevs round.
Watched it again, but with the sound off (thanks for the YouTube, Batman).
The robbery is even more obvious than ever.
Round 1: Hard Kov jab rattles Ward. Not much else. 10-9 Kov
Round 2: Knockdown. 10-8 Kov
Round 3: Not much actually connected from either side, but gave the edge to Ward. 10-9 Ward
Round 4: Ward does precious little except for meaningless pawing. 10-9 Kov
Round 5: Close round, but gave edge to Kov. 10-9 Kov
Round 6: Clear round for Kov. Ward going backwards and grappling (I hate grappling). 10-9 Kov
Round 7: Could call this one even, but I'll generously give it to Ward. 10-9 Ward
Round 8: They BOTH did a lot of missing, not just Kov. 10-9 Ward
Round 9: 10-9 Kov
Round 10: Ward bolo'ed..... Kov jabbed him in the face. Clear round for Kov. 10-9 Kov
Round 11: One of the better rounds of the fight. Good exchanges. Ward lefts and Kov rights. 10-9 Ward
Round 12: Close round, but 10-9 Kov
116-111 Kovalev
Several things.
Ward missed just as much as Kov.
I absolutely HATE Ward's style with a passion. Grappling is Ward's style. To Kov's credit, he was drawn into it, but refused to be pushed around.
Kov was the aggressor all night long. He was the defending champion. How the hell do you lose three belts like that?
It's official.... it was highway robbery, and HBO are accomplices.
We go to the scorecards: Kovalev v Ward, this site collected 60 media scores, 44 had kov, 15 ward, 1 a draw....not saying majority is always right but I think in this instance they are.
Roy jones loosing in the olympics was a robbery.
CJ Ross scorecard in mayweather/canelo was a robbery.
Ward winning last night was not a robbery..I would have accepted either fighter winning..in fact, the belts should not have been on the line for some crazy reason of mine as I wanted more from the winner to take those belts..put the belts on the line in the rematch.
I remember watching Oscar/Floyd and thinking it was close..then I watched again and it was Floyd 8-4 easy.
Just cannot get my head around Ward "taking" anything last night. Had 116-111 and can see 115-112 Kovalev but that's as close as it gets. The announce crew was clearly Ward but in actuality who cares they didn't score the fight.
Rounds 9 and 12 were both close. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Ward fans saw Ward throwing combinations, many of which did not connect. The same can probably be said about Kovalev. Ward's showmanship, such as his bolo punches, do absolutely nothing to sway me.
Great fight overall, but I disagree with the decision. I had Kov ahead by a few rounds, all said and done. Ward did better the second half, but Kov was landing the better, cleaner, and more powerful shots. Either way, hope there is an immediate rematch!!!
