Watched a programme about killer punches. It only take one blow and a lot of it is how they land/impact on the floor. Very sad cases which end up as manslaughter cases.

Blackwell had a second chance of LIFE simple and to go into a ring to spar again, a few months after being at death's door is fucking madness.
What possessed him to do such a stupid thing.
A half decent boxer puts most idiots to sleep he will be able to defend himself and his family if needs must.
But sparring in a ring taking head punches is a no no shit .

Just read that he is no longer being sedated but he's yet to wake up.

I just hope that this will be enough of an eye opener to keep him away for good now.

If Blackwell has been involved in sparring in the sense that we all understand it, then it's complete and utter lunacy. How anyone agreed to it or allowed it is simply staggering.

For the moment, Im clinging to the hope that something else has gone on here. Maybe he was training someone and got clipped accidently, maybe he didnt get hit at all. Here's hoping.

If you look at what he said after Gutknecht suffered the same sort of thing after the Groves fight his words come across a little differently

Any idea where they draw the line? Obviously Blackwells injury was so severe he wasn't going to get it back, but an example I can think of would be Jermain Taylor. He had a brain bleed of some sort after I believe the Abraham fight, and he obviously got his licence back to fight but controversially, I remember that redhead woman who was around for so many fights, chief physician somewhere(likely Nevada) saying he should have never been declared medically fit again, which looks like the right call in hindsight, yet he was even given a title fight!

As I have I. Had a couple of fist fights back in high school. Second one, I Was arrested at 17 for knocking a kid's teeth out with two punches. His friend was supposed to jump in if and when I hit the kid, as were others, but nobody did. 29 now and I've done all of my fighting in the boxing ring since. It isn't hard to avoid street fights or trouble if you don't go looking for it.
