PBC .. Erislandy Lara v yuri foreman ! :S......

well it could be worse, this friday, the born in belarus, tko'd by cotto, now living in america but representing israel Yuri Foreman takes on erislandy lara.. I can't remember if foreman held a title belt or not but I think he did and cotto took it off him.. Anyway I do like lara and I think he is pretty good and a big threat to anyone at 154( i did give canelo the decision though) so I will be watching this as long as it is on canadian tv :S No idea what Yuri has been up to since losing to cotto, I assumed he had just faded away but here he is ! I am hoping lara wins and that it leads him towards a title shot in a pretty interesting 154lb division.


Also Anthony dirrel is on the undercard fighting some guy called norbert who I think was played by eddie murphy is one of eddies classic films :S................................................ ..........



and i am a dum dum, it seems lara already is a world champion, it is so hard to tell with these wba belts, is he just the normal champion or the super champion :S anyway, lara is good and i hope he fights the other title holders at 154

Foreman did hold a title but his knees gave out a bit like Sergio Martinez. Cotto must like opponents with vulnerable knees.

Wow. This is a steamer. I just hope Haymon didn't sprain his fingers rolling all those pennies he's paying to put this together. I've always liked Foreman and hope he springs the upset.

Dudes this is perfect for me I've been debating taking Friday off before starting my post holiday regular work thing now this makes up my mind, one more day added to my holiday

Hey I'm looking at spike channel listings for Friday night and they don't have this fight listed. Did something happen anyone hear anything I'm about to take the day off but I'll probably work if I can't get the fight

either they moved it or I totally bungled the thread( i think it is this option), it is next friday, the day before de gale takes on jack

It's actually next Friday the 13th. Enjoy the night off anyway though ;D. I thought it was tonight as well, haven't watched a live fight in roughly 3 weeks.

Lara fights down to his competition. Also, how entertaining are his fights anyway? I'd rather watch him fight on free tv than premium tv.

Ok now it's fight night ;D Be interesting to see Lara go for a KO early. If anything Foreman is solid pure boxer and proved his brass when Mercante Jr :dunce: tried to get him killed with Cotto.

Anthony dirrell v some guy called norbert is the"co main event" :S starting soon

well norbit isn't awful but this is a bit of a mismatch, dirrell is pretty easily getting the better off him, norbit has managed to land a few good ones too though. Norbit looks way smaller too, I dont think this will last much longer.

Norbits corner stops it after the 6th , bit odd as norbit actually started fighting back that round, the 5th round was extremely one sided though... Good move from the corner though, it's swell n all being tough and always fighting on but he was taking quite the pounding and wasnt putting a dent into dirrell, he is a young guy too.

Once you do the hands behind the back and land hard with even the 3rd and 4th it's time. Tough kid took a beating.

Odd seeing a guy who should arguably still be champ just six months ago in a 8 rounder. You have to get your padding somewhere I suppose.

wicked uppercut to body and head! Slight headbutt follow-up by Lara didn't hurt the effort either ;D. Foreman looked real bad there

He does certain things as well as anyone in the sport, so I think if he's matched up well he's quite entertaining. This fight was predictable beyond belief and a sham.

On rewatch does anyone put any stock in that apparent shoulder bash and subtle head butt at end? I saw more than a few saying Foreman flopped it but no doubt he was caught. Weird uppercut to face off the torso :-X

Lara has head movement to beat him you have go to the body.
