Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Will the real Adrian please stand up... I'm really looking forward to this upcoming fight on the 18th. Broner has rubbed many of us the wrong way with some of his antics and seeing him have to eat humble pie after Maidana tenderized him was gold. He is a 4 weight titleholder; make what you want of that and he can fight a bit. I didn't realize he had a 300-19 amateur record. He may not be elite but he is definitely a contender around the weight when focused and training properly. Granados is a tough kid with under-rated skills. He comes forward with the sort of pressure that Broner has struggled with before. You could make an argument that he is basically undefeated with all 4 of his losses by way of split or majority decision. Diaz almost stopped him in the last couple rounds of their fight. If Granados can keep from getting caught with something big and make Broner fight at an uncomfortable pace he can make this very interesting.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
This will be on box nation and I think I may stay up to watch it.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Lamont Peterson vs David Avanesyan & Marcus Browne vs Thomas Williams will be on the undercard. Decent card.

It's a decent card. Nothing great but all fights are semi interesting.
Broner is very talented but fell in love with himself but didn't seem to work on his glaring weaknesses.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
I just hope Broner makes weight. I'd hate to see Granados disadvantaged in his big opportunity. I'm thinking Broner stops him late.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Blowing weight is his pattern. Granados will be undersized and laying in Broners wheel house trying to do his work. But on paper this is what we all want..two top 10 guys facing off. I'm still trying to figure how Granados is still ranked four spots lower that the hyped guy Imam he just beat up.

When the sanctioning bodies are involved common sense goes out the window.

What did I say? Broner demanded a weight increase from 142 to 147 after the fight was signed. Basically take it or leave it for Granados.

He really is an embarrassment. He drops trinkets on the scale at the same time he's using "four division champ" as his only top accomplishment. He'll throw a 'penalty payment' at Granados who was already fighting at big disadvantage.
This is the same guy who told Showtime execs the f off after Vincente Escobedo disaster. A lightweight fighting at 147 when the bell rang.
-
He just can't do it can he? He can't dedicate himself to his career.
At 147 , Broner is nothing, very average. He's much more effective at 140 and 135, but he ain't never seeing them days again.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
I'm sure I just read a day or 2 ago that he was more dedicated now and had changed his ways. I would love to see Granados win so Broner will have to change his nick name to Almost Broke.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
What's the odds of Broner even making 147?

Well barely today ;D. Have no doubt he'll be a bulky 154 by the bell.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Granados will be bulldozed as he tries to out physical Broner. And Broner will actually think it means something.

Funnily enough Broner was the only fighter to make the weight on the first try due to faulty scales. Granados, Peterson & Avanesyan were all slightly over before the scales were replaced.

This is on Box Nation tonight, may watch it in the morning.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Hmm. Being interviewed while taking a foul smelling dump; stuffing money down a toilet; performing oral anal sex on a sweaty stripper in plain sight on the stage; participating in a 3-way porn film; procreating like a crazed rabbit on Spanish Fly; making a mockery of women, engaging in various felonious-like assaults; and doing other nefarious lascivious, and lewd things. What's to like? He is a disgrace to boing.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Adrien Broner sucks. He's basically Mayweather except twice as stupid and with 1/10th of the skill.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Nothing sweeter than watching him take a L.

he is like floyd mayweathers ugly sister :S I really think a smart dog has a higher iq than broner.. I like watching him fight though, shame he seems to be a rather unpleasant human and his mayweather impersonation gimmick is cheap and boring.. he cant even say his "controversial" jokes right at the end of a fight.

Broner is probably knee deep in a deep dish pizza right now. I'm blaming Petersons weight on that beard. The thing has become ridiculous and not sure how he's allowed to wear that in the ring.
Browne and Williams Jr could be instant fireworks. Browne has promise but if he sleeps on Williams he may end up sitting on his wallet.

I've seen other commissions make a fighter trim their beards if deemed too big. So not sure how Peterson is getting away with it. I thought Brown lost to 'Hot Rod' but he may be just that bit better than Williams. I'm hoping for a shootout either way.

Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Yeh that's a good point about Kalajdzic Alpha. Think I had that 5-3 his favor and had he not been robbed with bogus "KD" think they would have drew. Williams is live by the sword die by the sword with legit pop. Lets hope!
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
It's a card where no one would blame you for backing all the underdogs.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Williams Jr. and Browne at the bell now. Paulie on the mic so Renallo please be quiet ;D
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Strictly smart boxing by Browne in 1st. Williams really putting the house on some of those shots but all one at a time.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Woahhh? Browne drops Williams hard after tough 2nd and then hits him clearly while he's down!! Point deduct from Browne. Williams really messed up ref and gives Williams 5 min. Browne mugging in the corner. Getting chippy here man
dropped him with a jab! Ugly replay as both were on pause. Williams still hurting in corner, standing though.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Williams hurt again when 2nd continues. Sharp shots by Browne on full frontal Williams who did well to make it out round recovered. Matter of time it feels
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Short straight lefts are buzzing Williams when he comes in wide. Couple of really hard hooks to body from Williams, probably his better last minute in 3rd there. Gritty scrap
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Left hand cannot miss Williams! He pins Brown and lands but nice counter right drops Williams hard. Up at 9 count but still throwing bombs late in 4th. Tough displays by both
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Evening chaps. I see Broner couldn't make the weight again. If he can't make 140 he's got no chance of beating the top welters. The fat fuckers is obviously favourite tonight but I'm hoping Granados does a number on him.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Williams down a 3rd time. Doesn't get up. It's over.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Williams upright in 5th but Browne peppering throughout. Williams dropped once again early 6th and ref reaches 10 after right hook. Williams body language horrible right prior to KO. Head shaking eyes closed. Good win for Brown, composed.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
I think that was intentionally late in the 1st.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Where the hell is broners head wasn't he suicidal six months ago he could bite off someone's ear
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Avanesyan following Peterson too much in the 1st. Neither guy did much but Peterson was using his jab and distance well. 1-0.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Busier round for Avanesyan. Getting in close working the body. 1-1.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Peterson going old school with the trunks. Mauro Ranallo is simply annoying :action: I'm waiting for the Undertaker to drop off the top rope ffs. Peterson doing a Peterson here.
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
Shit I'm at work I would love to see this fight I have showtime to
-
Re: Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados
That round was close with both guys getting work in. I think Peterson stole it late. 2-1.
