Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
How about some rare Thursday night fights! I'm glad to see espn getting back into regular cards but schedule seems a bit scattered. Great opportunity for Quigley to shine here vs a willing though worn Tapia. Undefeated Randy Caballero 23-0 takes on 36-7-5 Jesus Ruiz in a Jr. featherweight bout.
Tureano Johnson returns off a year layoff vs Fabiano Pena as well. Mauricio Herrera also in action. Card kicks off 9 pm here.

Good ESPN card. I'll be watching
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Johnson scored tko 2 after two knockdowns on Pena. Sounds like corner may have jumped the gun but didn't see it. Tureano knows something about premature stoppages :-X. Shame he never got Stevens rematch.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
I'm thinking easy wins for all the favorites here. Good to see Caballero & Johnson back finally. Quigley is all action.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Teddy's back! One Marlene Esparza making her pro debut in opener :cwm13: Would have liked to see Johnson a top contender in action though.
jebus Christmas her opponent looks 12 years old ???
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
I don't see this going long. Big clean shots landing by Esparza. Great to hear Teddy again.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
They can stop this mismatch and do this girl a favor. Looks like a licensed beating

Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Sazoff is a tough chick and thank god these are only 2 minute rounds.

;D. No way she's 26 either! And she has mma experience, tough sports to age with every fight.
so good to hear Teddy talk sense to Oscar here...straight out with "you need to push competitive fights" ;D. GBP run on Fox was basically a sausage making factory for favorites

Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Caballero and Ruiz ready to go for 10 or less. Going to plead ignorance, why did Caballero lose the trinket? Injury or division jump strip?
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
He lost it on the scales.
Good solid 1st round. Ruiz has come to fight. Head clash was the minor event of that round. No cut thank goodness.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Replay shows it was an elbow.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Lost it to injury they say. Hard head-butt in last minute. Ruiz really pouring in wide hooks that move Caballero few times. Looks much thicker up top
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Ruiz keeps this physicality up Caballero is going to start feeling it. Ruiz looks much stronger, solid jab by Caballero last minute. Going 2-0 Ruiz so far
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Both trading through the 2nd. Ruiz might have won that one.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Might have been injury. I thought he had missed weight.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Ruiz right eye starting to look rough. Cab turning him and bit sharper in 3rd.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Loving the body work from Ruiz.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Teddy & Hop barely stopping to take a breath.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Caballero came in 5.5 pounds overweight for a fight with Haskins. It was supposed to be on the Canelo-Cotto card but was cancelled.

Teddy has to be the only guy who can out shout himself and hold an entire conversation ;D.
Tough scrap, pretty even so far. Ruiz digging the gut late 5th. Cab almost looks like he is standing on heels or toes laying in there
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Competitive brawl so far. Cabaleero getting in some good body work of his own.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Caballero gained back control in that round. Working well while on the outside.

So he sat out year after title win, blew the weight for ppv and then sat out another year? That's pretty telling on motivation.

Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Listening to Teddy & Hopkins is pure comedy.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Just can't get away from feeling that Ruiz can turn this if he goes full on. Cab gets in some quick sneak shots as he's tearing up that body in 7th. Cab looking for that uppercut

The uppercut is there for both.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Bully round in 8th by Ruiz, both getting seriously gritty inside with grunt work, Cab with some sharp counters underneath!
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Heads getting in the way again. Caballero cut. Both trade to the bell.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Gotta go Ruiz 9th on churning inside. Cab cut, both warned for headbutts and Ruiz a LB? Helluva scrap by both and hate to be a judge right now.

" Hopkins had a great combination..the left-right-head" ;D

Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Excellent last round. Both guys throwing a heap of leather. I have this close. Caballero being with Golden Boy means 2 to 3 rounds ahead.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
97-93, 96-94 x2 Caballero.

Ya nailed that one bud with one to spare..97-93 too wide for me but he gets the nod.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Can we just agree that Tecante has officially buried Corona when it comes to short shorts :-X
Just hope Tapia is watched out for, he'll go at it but man he was talking with marbles in his mouth after last couple results
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Big right wobbles Tapia in the 1st.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Tapia is punching like he is underwater FFS. They stated he has opened a gym for kids..he needs to be there for that. Quigley set for the finish
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
A Quigley right to the body almost puts Tapia down. Feet get tangled near round end as Tapia goes down. No knockdown.
-
Re: Jason Quigley vs Glen Tapia ESPN2
Quigley stays straight down middle on jab he can shut the door, he's more wide in 3rd though. It's his table to set but sloppiest round so far.
